Habitat: Unknown origin (official sources say that they were originally found inside the Extraterrestrial Mothership)
Diet: Carnivorous, but prefers cat food or if married, semen
Poleepkwa are an extraterrestrial species originating from outer space with some characteristics of the Parktown prawn and thick chitin exoskeleton covering their arms, legs and shoulders. Since the species has been recently discovered, scholars are yet to classify what species of mamono they are. The notion of putting them in the Devil Bug family and Insect type category is supported by some researchers for many of the characteristics of the Poleepkwa correspond to those of the original members of the family but was met by strong opposition from scholars since they haven’t originated from the devil bug race, consequently they are not a subspecies of it and instead proposes an idea for a separate category for them.
Scholars speculate that the Poleepkwa are a hive and caste society. The color of their chitinous parts and their seemingly confusion and lack of ability to function without leadership seem to reinforce this, but so far, all Poleepkwa that have been found in colors black, blue and brown have been indicated as worker society, which comprise 76% of Poleepkwa population (only those counted in the eighth census of Saint Mihiel Alien Sanctuary). The remaining 24%, colored yellow and red, had been identified as soldiers, based on close observation of Poleepkwa daily life. However, we are yet to see a full Poleepkwa society with complete functional leadership. Without said leadership, the workers and soldiers are aimless and will rely on their primal survival instincts.
Poleepkwa are carnivorous, as evident with large number of meat dealers amongst their concentrated population. Noteworthy is their addiction to cat food. When a Poleepkwa eats cat food, it retards their minds, but as a mamono, this is coupled with a spike on their amount of strength and desire to mate. After eating cat food, they will be whipped in a state of lust and will seek to kidnap and rape a man to make him her husband.
Another thing that the Poleepkwa cherish is the taste of rubber. Poleepkwa had been seen fighting over rubber-made items such as slippers and sneakers, even stealing tires from cars and vehicular shops.
Surprisingly, despite their origin and evolution different from the native mamono, Poleepkwa, like their native counterparts, are also promiscuous, oviparous and to add matters, they have a high reproductive rate, which is further compounded by their ability to self-fertilize.
Poleepkwa pregnancy period only lasts for sixty days before laying their offspring as eggs. Once an egg has been laid, it will be connected to a food source (such as a dead cow or pig) via tubes, and this way, the developing Poleepkwa can be nourished.
It is unknown if the demonic energy of the world has affected them while they were inside the Mothership and were changed into mamono before the First Contact or if they were ‘mamono’ to begin with.
UPDATE FROM THE COROSSANIAN MINISTRY OF INFORMATION: It is speculated that the nutrient responsible for activating and overriding a Poleepkwa's reproductive instincts is taurine (aside from demonic energy), which is present on cat food at high quantities. Some scientists challenge this notion since Poleepkwa can eat fish and meat (where taurine is also abound) without succumbing to their instincts as mamono.
