Following the conclusion of Dorothy's party, I, Jeiel Yozama, decided to dig in deeper to the Mamono species thriving in Oz. I do plan to intergrate suggested ideas for newer Mamonos, but first I want to complete the main cast. It's no fun without these antagonists of the main series. To mix 'em up, I guess they should go as maids. Well, the wild sort. Here we are with the flying monkeys - I mean - Kakuens....
(Oh.. don't forget to see the main page: http://monstergirlencyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:JeielYozama/Fan-Made_Mamono_Realms_-_OZ_(Premediate) for details
Hanuman/ Ape-wing
Family: Kakuen
Type: Beastman
Habitat: Mountainous areas, high places in Oz, some demihuman settlements
Disposition: Mischievous, playful, lustful (depending on specie)
Diet: Generally omnivorous, eats anything
A specie of Apeman blessed to take the skies with wings growing on their backs. They have the same hairiness of any Kakuen, except their hair has the impression of being windblown due to their frequent flight. Same goes for their habit to mischief. But unlike their elder specie, Hanumans are fiercely devoted to any master they swear allegiance to in their lifetime.
Ancient lore suggests they were once free Kakuen who out of purely innocent pranking, dumped a richly-dressed demihuman into a river. In anger, the former ruler of the Gillikins, Princess Quela, decided to curse them. Enchanted wings sprang from their backs overnight, eternally bound to a Golden Hat she forged from her own magic. The cap's curse allows her to command the Hanumen under her very whim. Somewhere throughout history, it fell into the hands of the tyrant Warloc of The West, who used these Mamonos to enslave Oz. Later, when he was defeated, the accursed cap was handed to the Hanumen and was fashioned into their idol. Their curse was severed, but their rationality as an effect of the curse, wasn't. They became willing slaves and this idea was passed on to the next generation.
Hanumans who are unbound are generally found in the mountainous regions, venturing down the slopes of their homes only when feeding time or mating season is nigh. Up on the air, they are often mistaken as Harpies or large birds of prey. However, their howling squeals give them away and scare local folk below. Troops of these Mamonos lead by a matriarch Hanuman would raid rural areas to carter off goods, things they find valuable (especially shiny stuff) and occasionally, men they fancy. These men are people whom they sense are in need of companionship(to which, their rationality on servitude comes along).
The old beliefs of Hanumans state that any man they take fancy are to be their masters from that moment on, and so they must exact all means to be by his side. Loyalty is never to be questioned, no matter how ridiculous it may seem. Not all Hanumans are bound by old traditions though. Some have pure hearts who wish to hand themselves to a worthy master to aid him in their lifetime.
For this regard, two types of Hanumans are born. Those who are stuck to the old faith are the baboonic Hanumans who don dark-hued, batlike wings and are more sinister in appearance. These winged Kakuens are brash, opportunistic even towards their masters, and seek to be rewarded by him through sex. Towards anyone they view as their Lord, they act as his shadows, carrying out his whims when necessary. During work, they prank him into intercourse only to please him, and once one of the troop is satiated in his mana, the rest will haggle and fawn him all the same. The baboonic Hanuman is noted to have an abnormal amount of demonic energy within and by allowing their master to taste their insides, their lust swells and the process of troop-rape would not cease. Testimonies have been raised that when they first get their hands on a man, they haul him off to their nests and rape him as a troop. They themselves gauge their own master through coitus, and if they see him worthy, he will have their fealty, otherwise he will be dragged on a helpless servant to their sexual advances while they ram their own organs into him in midair.
In contrast with the baboonic Hanumans are the angelic ones. They are the individuals more reminiscent of the old Hanuman specie- possessing vividly colored plumage for wings. They do not believe in the idea masters are met and served on impulse. For them, masters must be known with up close and personal. So when they raid villages in regulation, they dive in on the man they fancy and cheekily engage on him, egging him repeatedly until he tires out. Instead of bringing him with the group, they would leave the person be, but they would habitually visit him in his own home and tease him until the man is finally taunted to come with them to the mountains where they will rule as their eternal masteramd bathe them in his mana. Because of their natural mischievousness and non-violent ways, some have even settled to living (troop-less) in Oz's demihuman settlements.
These two types never seem to get along. Baboonic Hanumans tend to bully the angelic ones sine they are known to be bigger and more powerful than their counterpart. However, with the addition of strength came the dulling of their wits, and so the angelic Hanumans easily outmaneuver and outcunning them.
If there is one similarity between the Hanuman-kind, both types are bound to their masters, and so wherever he might find himself in, they will follow and obey him without question. The Golden Cap of legend is the only item able to bind them in unity again, and some say this artefacts still lost in the hands of wild Hanumans.
The Circe of Oz has been known to manipulate Hanumans. Many angelic Hanumans serve as her spies among the commonfolk while baboonic Hanumans are her guards and soldiers.
That ends it! Next, the Oblations. ? See you all minna! Comment what you think!
