The Lagia is a fearsome type of dragon mamono found in areas with lots of water however they do hold a preference for the cleaner waters of the ocean or clearwater lakes and rivers. The exact classification for them is unknown as they have features from both Ryu and western types of dragons. Because of this the Lagia is classified with the flightless drakes but is offten seen as the evolutionary link between the dragons of the west and the eastern Ryu. They have powerful claws on both their arms and legs, these claws are also webbed which allows them to swim very easily. They're bodies have blue scales with red spikes however a group of particularly large spikes will glow a pale blue when the Lagia is using her powers. Lagias have a long powerful tail with a large fin and more bright red spikes running along its length which she uses to propel herself through the water and lash her opponents. She also has a cluster of horns growing out her head. Lagias take good care of their appearance and have sleek, toned figure with breasts that can neither be considered too large, but most certainly not small. When angry Lagias dorsal spikes will glow a pail blue and she will have electrical energy crackling in her throat. Like all dragons they are capable reverting back to their primal form.
Lagias dwell primarily in the sea and can sometimes be confused for a Mosa when seen from a distance, however their spikes, horns, and well defined limbs can make identifying them easy. Despite their physical similarities, Mosas tend to be more powerful. While the Lagias all have the power to use electricity and only a few Mosas do, the Mosas have enough physical power to overcome this and defeat the Lagia. Only a select few Lagia will ever become strong enough to match a Mosa. Fortunately battles are rare because while Mosas prefer living in the open ocean, Lagias stay near the coast. This is partially due to the fact that unlike Mosas, Lagias are fully amphibious and can easily move on land. Lagias spend a great deal of time on beaches and rocky shorelines basking in the sun while at the same time allowing other to bask in their own beauty and power. It also said that Lagias also stay near the shore to avoid conflict with the Mosas however the Lagias vehemently deny this.
Lagias are notoriously prideful and vain. They view themselves as Queens of their Domain and so long as they give the Mosa wide berth, they are. They put a great deal of effort making sure their appearance is taken care of. They are always well groomed and their hair is always cut in such a way to accentuate her beauty while giving her an Aristocratic air about herself. They speak in a tone that would most often be used by noblemen, royalty, and aristocrats and often view those around them as beneath their notice unless they have some use for them. Because of the power Lagias wield few can say otherwise. Despite this Lagias are never one to shy away from battle, in fact they seem to revel in it. In battle Lagias use their physical strength and speed to overwhelm their opponent. Often striking foes down with powerful tail lashes or plowing through them with her charge attacks. But dangerous of all is the Lagias mastery of lightening. Lagias frequently charge her various attacks with electricity, fire off lightening blasts from her jaws, or electrocute everything in range by arcing her lightening from every part of her body. She can also focus electrical power into various points in an area to cause explosions of electricity to go off around her and fire elctric cluster bombs. In the water Lagias are even more dangerous. Even if a person where to avoid being hit by her, the current generated by her blows often sends her foes tumbling leaving them open for another strike and the water makes her electrical attacks even more damaging and far reaching.
As said before Lagias are arrogant in both their beauty and power. They refuse to be with a man who doesn't prove himself. Often this means in battle. Lagias will often find a man who is a strong fighter or shows the promise to become one and challenge again and again. Testing his mettle and driving him forward to get even stronger. Eventually she will have a final confrontation with him where she will attempt to push him to his very limits. Should he pull through and prove himself worthy, the Lagia will offer herself to him. If he refuses her the Lagia will burst into tears. Her pride shattered she will flee to the oceans depths never to be seen again if he accepts her she will be overjoyed, often throwing herself at him to begin mating then and there.
If no powerful man is to be found, a Lagia may take it upon herself to bring one to her. Usually by going on a rampage. Often Lagias will sink ships and demolish coastal towns all in an attempt to draw a worthy man to herself. This is not out of malice, but desperation. Despite their prideful and combative nature, Lagias lead a lonely life. Their arrogance drives others away from them and while they would never admit to openly, they crave affection and love. They need companionship. Because of this a rare occasion can occur. Occasionally there will be a man who visits her time and time again, despite her poor behavior and the fact that he is not a string warrior. The Lagia will shun him, treating him with the same haughty derision she does everyone else. However if the man perseveres she will slowly open up to him. His kindness and compassion will warm her heart, she will grow fond of him. As time goes on she will seek his companionship and grow protective of him. Eventually she will realize that without even noticing she had fallen in love with him. His patience, kindness, and compassion having proven him to be worthy of her. Upon realizing this she will immediately seek him out to repay the kindness and compassion he showed with love and affection. And this time the Lagia will not be taking no for an answer.
A married Lagia's demeneor is completely different with her husband. To her this man is worthy of her love and devotion. As she is Queen of her domain so to is he her king. She will shower him with her love and affection always seeking to wrap him in her coils and have sex with him. Just as she takes pride in herself so too will she take pride in the man who proved himself worthy of her. Every bit of effort she put into maintaining her beauty and strength will be also put into making him happy. She will keep herself beautiful not to satisfy her vanity but to be attractive to him. She use her power not to dominate others but to please him. Just as she showed herself off she will also show him off and just as she satisfied her own desire she will ensure his are satisfied as well. If lusts for another she will not be jealous but will instead take that woman and add her to the harem. Nothing is too good for a Lagias husband.
Lagias are valued as one of the most reliable mounts for the Dragoons naval forces as their dedication to pleasing and protecting their husbands often means that they will go above and beyond the call of duty.
There are two known subtypes of Lagia.
Subspecies
The Ivory Lagia is easily identifiable due to their ivory white scales. Unlike other Lagias they prefer spending most of their time on land and rarely take to the sea except when traveling. They are notably stronger than the average Lagia.
Rare Species
The Abyssal Lagia is the rarest and strongest of the Lagia race. They have lustrous black scales and are adorned with biolumenscent spikes. They are strong enough to face off with and defeat all but the fiecest of Mosas and thus often dwell in the oceans depths instead of the coastal regions. They rarely come ashore unless searching for a husband. They often dwell in the deapest reaches of the sea but frequently visit undersea caves that are accessible to humans.
[Our second major aquatic mamono is the Flagship monster in Monster Hunter Tri, the Lagiacrus. MH Tri added swimming to the Monster Hunter and the Lagiacrus was the perfect monster for this new mechanic. Saddly swimming was a pain in the ass and the mechanic was scraped in later games. Doesn't change the fact that Lagy was a awesome. Originally the Lagia was gonna rival the Mosa in power but then I realized that the Mosa was supposed to be a sea going equivalent to the Tyranno and given that Tyrannos are a match for dragons that made the Lagia way stronger than the Tig and Narga which she isn't supposed to be so K depowered her. She still strong as hell though and can wreck a coastal town. Information on the Reptile Kingdom and links to the other Reptile Kingdom mamono can be found here: (http://monstergirlencyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:The_Reptile_King/The_Reptile_Kingdom) You can also make suggestions there if you want, just follow the rules on that.
As per my norm, feedback and criticism is welcome and encouraged, so long as your criticisim is more than mindlessly insulting me, I want something useful out of it. So tell me what you think of her]
