The Mako is an average sized species that can be found throught the oceans. They are possibly the fastest ocean manamo alive, and can easily out pace and outrun any prey or predators. Their bodies are streamlined with their dorsal fins less pronounced, earning them the nickname "Shortfin" They also possess excellent vision, and can see as far as a mile away. While this speed appears to be a blessing it is also a curse: forcing them to always be on the move, even when sleeping, while they feel no exaustion it does make a large home for them a must.
As they are always physically in motion, so is their mind: they poseess an unfocoused mind, and often can only think of one thing at a time. This does in no way mean they are unintelligent however, their intellects and memories are often on point and they can easily do most things after seeing someone do it, but what they learn about becomes the only thing they will think of, consuming them until somthing snaps them out of it. For this reason they often live with friends who end up taking care of them, usually doing so out of friendship.
Makos have an odd habit: for reasons no one can discern they sometimes jump out of the water at full speeds, often appearing to fly for a moment because of how fast they are going. There have been debates but most people agree that they do this because they beleive they are trying to catch escaping prey, even if there is no actual food, so it seems to be that they do it simply because they are hungry. However: when they do jump they use their vision to survey the area in the few breif seconds they are out of the water. Should they be near the shore and look at a man they fancy, they will become fixated on him. Even after they reenter the water they pop their heads out and try to gaze at him again. After this the man they saw becomes the only thing on their mind, replacing anything else that was on their mind. This borders on obsession, and soon they cannot bear the thought of him being away from her. She will then use whatever methods she can to get to him, from asking a land-dweller to bring him to even turning herself into a human form and search for him, there is no limit to waht they will do. When they see him again, their hearts throb and their minds once again become consumed with the thought of being with him and they either take him their or lead him somewhaere safe.
When mating the Mako uses her speed to her full advantage, going as fast as possible to wring out her mates semen into her. Her speed makes this very intense and a quickie for anyone else will feel as intense as if they have been doing it for hours. After they feel that they both are satisfied they will often cuddle with their mate, still attached. For them, they consider their mate their husband and lie happily with him, estatic that they have someone who will always be on their mind.
After finding a husband a Mako's personality changes quite a bit: Now they've become extremely focused and always have their husbands needs on their mind, they will always keep track of everything and bring him anything he desires. While this negateds the need for the caretakers the Mako from now on considers them friends for life and will help them with almost intense a fevor as they do their husbands. Should any of their caretakers be unmarried however: they will try to set them up with their husband, beleiving they deserve his love for taking care of them for so long.
(Well, I hope a certain scaly friend of mine is happy, he said this was one of his favorite speceis....I will admit: I did not know much about this species, so I did some research and this is what I came up with, I hope everyone likes this one.
