Isn't this a delight? The big gun of the creepy world comes a-stalking now in MGE. And I understand that in a previous thread, a senior had made a version of his own. Well, this is my own version, and I swear I have not intended copying of the first one. She has an art of her own too! So, standard procedure: go to the Naether realm blog for a lowdown on her habitat. Then lean back and imagine......otherwise...you'll be devoured by:
Slender
Art by Jeiel Yozama, scholar of the Nonareichen.
Family: Dryad
Type: Elemental x Undead
Habitat: Naether forests, places in Oz and the Mamono Realm that host thick trees
Disposition: Melancholic, sadistic
Diet: Thoughts and dreams (especially the happy ones) of victims
Jeiel's Comments: The thing that really strikes me is why they copy people's faces. Could they be anymore desperate to own a person's heart? I can never know that... unless I try to be Slender-food.
A Dryad specie of vastly definitive proportions in the Naether. Possessing mournful appearances, this and their otherwise dead-ish impression on the living denied their right to be normal Ozian farmers and crop tenders alongside Scarecrows. Now, they live in the unshackled region below Zion, having evolved into a horror that scales beyond the extreme.
These Mamonos are known for one thing: having a penchant for Gothic Lolita fashion. Either by a whim, or by natural setting, they garb their bodies in such clothing sense. In fact, the clothes they wear are a material made of something similar to leaves. They also, have a nonexistent face. Some say the true face is blank and devoid of features , so they mask themselves with another being's visage. Whenever they come in contact with an entity, they tap into its inner thoughts and discern the person dearest to their heart, immediately assuming her face. This ability works for men alone, and on the side of women, they find the Slender copying their own faces.
Slenders have milky-white skin akin to smoothened wood. Shadowy essences on their backs are generated like tentacles, helping them with motion in the same way as Arachnes. On the prowl, only the tentacles travel and so they rarely use their humanly legs.
Being Dryads, they are tied to trees. Particularly, all Slenders have their lives bound to the Bleeding Tree, the wellspring of Naether life. It is said that Slenders are born asexually once a year from the shadows of the DeathBringer's branches protruding skyward. As long as the tree lives, all Slenders exist, and they can venture anywhere they wish. The red bows and ties on them are dipped in red - this is hinted as the tree's blood red sap. Should these degrade in color, they reflect the present health of the tree.
Slenders were the elements of Ozian tall tales. They were told to be forlorn monsters who snatch unsuspecting children from their homes and take them to the shroud of their forest homes. This is not true. These Mamonos are actually attracted to young individuals because they themselves are not usually born as children, but as full adults. They long to interact with them, and since they have a unsettling atmosphere around them, this credits them to be violent. In all honesty, Slenders are loners. They have an air of depression around them and have reluctancy to be with other Mamonos.
Social outcasts in Naether communities, Slenders phase in and out of existence. Their unique teleportation is what allows them to travel from the Naether to Oz and out to the Mamono Realm. A ring of aura also pervades around them, surging upon reappeareance and disabling all form of electricity and magitech around. They habitually feed -in full - by chancing upon people in slumber, siphoning their dreams during that time, and ingesting them. The individual will forget all his thoughts in that day, while the Slender moves on to a new victim.
Sometimes, they happen to slurp up a tasty dream, and they become attracted to that person at once. They use their tentacles to ensnare the person's mind and visit them in the world of dreams as a dogged pursuer. In the nightmare, they chase after their target and yet their orey cannot seem to see who is chasing them. Come morning, there will be no trace left of her. The visits will be frequent until the person turns obsessed with finding his /her eccentric tailer.
Once the human mentality snaps as he/she thinks nothing else but his/her haunter, the Slender will call that person into the nearest forest. There, he will be drawn into the thickets, deeper and deeper into madness as the Slender will claim him.
The Mamono's black tentacles awaken in sensual hunger and wrap around the man like a Scylla in heat, and the Slender performs copulation on the spot. She sucks his seed in her mouth and inside her organ with maddening lust. The minute she tastes the man's spiritual energy, she will not stop in asking for it. In place of her mournful look is a leer of a sadist. She will always cling to him, wrap his member in the tentacles and force sex like a never-ending treat. Enslaved by the Slender's ravaging, there will be no qualms in his part.
If a woman is called to by the Slender, she will be caught in the tentacles and converted into a Slender as well. The original Slender is titularly a 'blanche' who can stir souls. The Slender made from their conversion is then a 'negre', who creates a small Bleeding Tree in isolation and lives on (Negres cannot make new Slenders and have the ability to placate souls ). Should these two meet, they merge into a SlenderKing - a monarch of shadows. This Mamono, now with the bonded mind of both individuals, can manipulate souls of human and monsters alike. This event, however, is rare.
Slenders have a rivalry with Rakers. To be more specific, Mamonos of the Naether hate Slender kind, since they are known to control other monsters into doing their bidding. At times, they suck the thoughts out of random Mamono, just to be spiteful for being ignored. Slenders are rumoured to be tame-able by collecting rare imprints of the Word scattered in the Naether called Pages, but no one has done that in centuries. If true, any Slender can be controlled, even a SlenderKing.
The end! Hope ya like Slender here! Leave a comment if you like it. Sarabada!
