Everyone has been beating this dead horse for about a month now. It's time to stop.
'I saw this a while ago but didn't have time to join and therefore I'm late. Before I speak, I do not support anti-mamono or CRUELTY against monster girls. (Mamono is Love! Mamono is Life!)'
Yeah Yeah, disclaimer and all that, good on you.
'I agree that sending his anti-mamono fanfic/illustrations to KC was bad. Like telling someone that you would enjoy killing their children in a horrible way.'
Oh gee, you don't say. But seriously speaking, this whole fiasco started when those pictures were sent (On the wikia at least, this has been going for a long time. Cough Cough That whole shitfest on that site that used to hold KC's stuff Cough Cough.
'But, his fanfic is his fanfic, right? It was not made by KC. We might not like it and KC might not like it, but it is his fanfic and he can write whatever the hell he wants. Grigori added guns, bombs and a lot of other stuff that doesn't exist in MGE setting. Is it still the MGE world we know? No! Does MGE say anything about world invaders from a Earth world with advanced technology? No? Then what is the problem if it is not your story KC?'
Maybe the whole 'flaunting shit in KC's face', those death treats people talk about? Dunno, really.
'KC mentions how violence is not allowed in fanfics because it violates the "spirit" of his world. He also doesn't like anti-mamono ideas because that too would violate the "spirit" of his world.'
Was it violence? Or was it gratuitous violence? Probably the latter. On the topic of anti-mamono, there's a difference between the levels of it too.
There's the level where you just hate mamono in general, that's fine man, you hate and like what you hate and like. Then there's the level when you start a whole fucking campaign in which you describe mamono getting brutally murdered by some dude that's, as people would call it, 'op'.
'But, KC's world has violence and he was the first to create anti-mamono. The Order is "the main Anti-Monster organization in the Monster Girl Encyclopedia world".'
Yeah, to give people the possibility to choose or to write about something else instead of, well "Hurr durr, sex monsters everywhere.". Because even smut gets old after a while.
'Of course he hasn't depicted the cruelity that The Order does, but it is not good I assume.'
Yeah, mostly because he doesn't like gore one bit, and we all know how paladins in rpgs work. Yeah, 'I smite thee, foul creature' and all that. Still not gonna win though, thank the QnA for that.
'So it is ok for KC to make anti-mamono but no one else? Or is it because there was too much violence in the fanfic?'
It's the latter. Pretty sure this was mentioned quite a few times already.
'Who knows, maybe Grigori was just a huge fan of The Order.'
Nah, he didn't make his own damn faction because of that. Still, making Wonderland into a republic or something? Really.
'He should explain more about how The Order treats mamonos in MGE because it is too vague of how much violence is acceptable.'
'Smite thee' <--Something along those lines. At least they just kill 'em, not brutally murder them until there's nothing left besides guts or something.
'If someone is to make a fanfic, can they include violence, death, and war? If not then there is a censorship on creativity which is just horrible to have. Also, "Terms of Use?" Did he sign any "Terms of Use?" If I create a fanfic do I have to sign this invisible "Terms of Use?"'
Yeah, they can include those. Can they detail 'em till they can be safely put in the gore category? No. It's simple as that.
"Terms of Use" Yeah, if you're gonna keep on saying about how that whole thing is in the MGE setting, maybe showing it to the creator that expressed his displeasure with gore and whatnot oh so many times wasn't a good idea.
God damn, I'm like a broken record at this point.
'KC does own the MGE.'
Yeah, he does.
'He does not own fanfics and illustrations made by other people that were inspired by his work.'
He doesn't own them, can still ask people to not do what Grig did though. Respecting the Author's wishes and all that.
'Also, KC is not happy how MGE is being shown in that fanfic, but what about his own work? KC's MGE basically shows women being "sexuallized".
KC's works shows everything being sexualized. Yeah, you did say that about 2 sentences later.
'If a woman were to say "I forbid you to use women in this manner in your creative work because it hurts me as a woman" would KC obey and burn his books while bathing in virgins blood and dancing to "Gangnam Style"? '
>Implying a woman has the right to say that you can't use women in your works.
>It's pretty much the same as implying that mythical creatures have the right to say you can't use them in your works.
There's a difference between using just women in your work, and using a setting in your fanfic. The creator of the latter has the rights to it. He kinda owns it.
'No! It is his creative work and he can do watever the f*ck he wants b*tch!!!'
'Copyright infringement is reproducing, distributing, displaying or performing a work, or to make derivative works, without permission from the copyright holder' Now, time to see if someone reserved the rights to MGE.
'In the end, my point is that he shouldn't forbid anything except the selling (plagiarism) of his work. Artists censoring other artists is not good. He should also just ignore the heretics and not give them the spotlight they so desire. (which he has already done...)'
Yeah, maybe that would've been a good idea. But it's kinda late now, and lemme quote it 'So I forbid the use of MGE materials by him, but he tries to detour it. So if you receive a comission from him, please never accept it.'
He put a 'please' in there too. This is just a matter of respect at this point. But oh well.
Might as well end this thing, it's been a month already, after all.
