If one were to give an overall survey on the total Mamono population of Oz, animated monsters ( mere objects that were given life) outweigh the biological ones. This is why Oz gained promiscuity - it hosts an assortment of life literally 'built' from scratch. Here's a Mamono that bases its origins on the likeliest of things: a wooden whale.
---------------------------------
JONEAH
Family/Type: Mermaid Family/Magic Material
Habitat: Nonestic Ocean, Lake Quad (endemic to these areas)
Disposition: Conceited, vain
Diet: Herbivorous; feeds on plant material floating on bodies of water
-------------------------------
A peculiar Mamono born of wood, yet accustomed to life in warm waters. They are what Oz refers to as 'living transports', given that they ferry men and Mamono as well as deliver cargo in service to the Whiz of Oz. In a bizarre twist, however, they only do such requests if they have a particular liking to people, and they are much more interested in finding men who are to be their 'captains'.
The real Joneah was a wooden, whale-shaped ship commandeered by the famed villain of the seven seas, Davy Jones. Being the leader of a group of bloodthirsty blaggards, he looted and pillaged without restraint, hoarding riches to himself. Some time later, when Davy Jones invaded an island along with his crew, the ship sprang a consciousness -most likely, due to a certain 'Powder of Life' that was accidentally sprinkled onboard) and seeing as its owner was a black-hearted imbecile it left him stranded. The ship (who named itself DavyJones, ironically) sailed the tepid waters of the Nonestic until it was met by the Whiz, who laughed at the sight of a 'sighing ship' and asked whatever was troubling the poor thing. As she heard its tale, she smiled lasciviously. She ordered it words of untold power:
"You will sail these lands in search for a captain, and you will not rest until you feel true happiness."
Immediately after she uttered this, the ship transformed into a Mamono, and she added once the monster's mission were to bear fruit, she would return to the Whiz' side. This was evidently, the first Joneah.
Joneahs have sultry skin easily likened to polished wood - unblemished and shaped by the to-and-fro of waves. Marks where grooved edges of battered wood should have been are permanently fused on their skin. Like fingerprints, no two Joneahs have the same markings, and they are believed to be in the similar vestige of pleasure runes. Also, they have the same arrangement of parts in resemblance to a whale's, bearing stubby fins on their backs that lead down to a thick paddle of a tail they use for travel (and bopping any attacker with the force equal to a jack-hammer). These parts are what defines them as Magic Material: they are portions of living wood named Magrid bound to the Mamono from birth. As the Mamono grows, the living wood grows in suit.
Joneahs are as easygoing as whales, to which they are comparable to. In fact, they are so flat-out easygoing that sex zones out of their minds. However, they live and breathe an air of arrogance. They have a short temper disproportionate to their size, and hate it when the inexperienced order people around, much less blind leaders who lead others by the nose towards tragic results (they have an ability to look into the eventual results of a leader's decisions, and the words and actions that tell what sort of 'leader' he/she is). Should they meet someone who needs assistance in traversing the waters of their home, they use the ability to peek into a person's heart. People they find unfit to stand before them, a former victim of cruel leadership, either recieve a whack from the flat end of their tails - or a complete refusal of their help.
On the contrary, sensing a person possess an aura of both kindness and dominance, they will seek to pledge allegiance to the individual: to become his/her faithful 'ship', until the end of her life. Caveat: the 'end of life' term is nothing to sneer at - Magrid growing on Joneah bodies give them a nearly immortal life, so they're the person's personal vehicle for almost an eternity. One can refuse this offer of servitude. The Joneah won't harbor any hard feelings at the refusal, but she will ask to be a loyal friend that the person can depend on, and allow him/her to board her.
Joneahs can shift to a semi-primal state, in which their lower halves (from the waist down) generate a huge, woodlike whale body mimmicking the features of a ship. This half, which is what they utilize for transport and delivery from one end of their habitat to another, is linked to the Joneah, and so any damage struck towards the wooden whale is sent as a shock to main body above. When a man touches this area, lust-filled shocks of Daemonergy travel to the main body, causing her to flush in overwhelming rapture -basically, it becomes an erogeneous zone suited for a mate. Come mating season (early-late summer), this faux body becomes extremely sensitive to a man.
Once a man rides on top of the Joneah's body, pleasure begins to build within them from the DE shockwaves. She would feel as if in that very moment, he is 'riding' her. The desire to mate throbs like a numbing chorus in their head and nethers. Yet, they are calm to resist their Mamono urge. After carrying their quarry safely, the Joneah will tell the man she will be at his beck and call at any given time. In the male's case, hewill be lulled to ride on top of her as lust within the Joneah creates a rapturous warmth on the faux body's surface. Hewill be drawn to experience the soothing feel again, like a boy attached to a blanket.
The more these activities continue, the more both parties eye each other in a carnal manner. The Joneah starts to take shape as the blanket of warmth the man longs. The man, the 'captain' her kind had long sought after. When the Mamono finds herself unable to resist any longer, she will open her faux body's mouth - and swallow the man inside. He will find himself in the confines of a chamber inside the whale, and the Joneah will manifest to inadvertedly, ask to be 'ridden' by him.The man's shaft will respond to her honeyed voice, and her tight insides, which are more heavenly than any other source of warmth in the world, will let him in. From the inside the whale body, they will have no disturbance from the outside world. While their condescending voices of ecstasy send ripples of pleasure to the body, spout of white water will jetstream from the whale's blowhole, creating a mist of DE that upon inhalation, brings any Mamono to a frenzied arousal. It's as if, the Joneah is calling others to faithful with their desires as Mamono.
With their 'captain' in tow, a Joneah won't feel the need to always fawn him for sex as his caress and loving sensation is enough to keep her delighted amidst sailing. Sex is their form of a 'treat' if they've done extra-well in service of their husbands, since mana is still, their basic diet. Plus, their whale bodies will automatically serve as their mobile 'home' to which it will be able to shift according to their husband's preference.
If, however, the man were to anger the Mamono at some point by acting all arrogant and smug (they don't want to be barked around), their bodies won't hesitate to 'eat' him and lock him inside, while she punishes him through violent sex. Such techniques are also applied to those who dare anger an unmarried Joneah, and according to legend, a certain mage was raped for three days by the Mamono before he begged to change and he became her obedient husband.

NOTE: Well, well. This took me two weeks to ponder, dang! The Joneah has a biblical reference to it, as you can see on the last descrip. I really love the way that she's your own ship: a ship you can have sex with. GAHAH! Enjoy your ride, sailor!
