The Red Knight is a unique mamono that appears in the Demonic Realm of Camelot. Often they are found patrolling the borders or domains of their kings. They stand at average height at the least, or a head above average in most cases. Their image consists of a curvy figure, but not lacking in muscle despite the sensual curves they possess, like many Mamono. Their arms and legs, from the forearms and knees down, are coated in bright red crimson scales, hinting at a Lizardman or Salamander ancestry. From their hind ends, a smooth red tail of the same color also can be seen. Their thighs are usually adorned in specailly made red armor as their frints. They only wear the breastplate as their chests and abdomens are not adorned in scales, while their backs and sides are covered in the smooth, yet tough reptillian skin. Like many mamono, clothing isn't on their list of priorities, but to allow them to wear armor and still remain desirable, they wear black bikini bottoms over their privates. They hold red armor on their shoulders, but keep their faces free of anything that could limit their vision. As like with any mamono, their faces are beautiful with molten gold reptilian eyes with red scales on their cheeks and reptillian fin ears. Many of this species holds red hair, but in varying shades. Like with any Lizardman species, these Red Knights always carry swords by their sides.
Many would mistake the Red Knights as Salamanders and technically, they would be right. Red Knights are an offshoot of the Salamander line. They story goes that a Salamander had come to Camelot and fell in love with a man in Castle Camelot. Wishing to make him her husband, she kidnapped him and spirited him away to a dungeon in a mountain.
Unwilling to let this crime go, King Arturia herself went to deal with the criminal and faced the Salamander in combat. In a deul of swords, she discovered that the Salamander was merely in love and with her passionate temperment, made a foolhardy decision. The Salamander on the other hand found a powerful and honorable king which made her warrior blood sing like the man she desired made her womanhood tremble in joy. At the end of the battle, the Salamander lost, but swore to be a loyal follower of Arturia in return for forgiveness and being able to marry the man she adored. Since the pair had fallen in love, Arturia agreed to this, seeing the addition of such a skilled swordswoman as a boon to her kingdom.
What happened next was unclear. It is believed that through the fairy magic in the realm, by swearing the oath, the Salamander was bound by her word to the kingdom. The edges of her scales receeded and the fire on her tail went out. all of her scales turned bright red and she became adorned in the armor now known for the Red Knights Many in Camelot took it as a sign of the Salamander's oath and found it to be a wonderful occasion, although many magical scholars are still scratching their heads.
After, more Salamanders, no doubt the first one's clan or acquaintances, began moving to Camelot after hearing their comrade praise Arturia. Many swore the same oaths, again, transforming into Red Knights. Their daughters who were eventually born likewise were born as Red Knights, rather than Salamanders as their mothers used to be, creating a new line of Mamono.
The Red Knight is one of the most battle-frenzied of the knight species, but once they give their word in loyalty, honor, or marriage, they keep it. They are fiercely monogomaous and do not appreciate their husbands looking at other mamono, or other mamono trying to seduce them. If they see such actions, they will begin using their swords to make their points. Only theur husbands can calm themd won at that point.
When a Red Knight isn't otherwise training, fighting, or patrolling, they often can be found going on an adventure or two in the wilder areas of Camelot, or recently, travelling to the Human World to see where their fortunes may lie. Often, they can be seen in taverns, singing lewd mamono bar songs and acting as 'one of the guys'. Once they see a man they want though, they will put all their effort into seducing him. However. seduction to a Red Knight usually means either duelling or getting into a bar fight with the man. Unlike Lizardmen and Salamanders, the man doesn't have to win, but merely aquit themselves to the Salamander's satisfaction. If they win, the Red Knight will increase their seduction attempts with sex and other lewd methods. Should they lose, the Red Knight will kidnap them to their homes and simply ravish him into a loving stupor. How this fight goes even affects how the relationship goes. Men who win will find a demure housewife, when the Red Knight isn't doing her duties. Men who lost will be held quite protectively by the Red Knight, often like some damsel in distress.
To the people of Camelot, despite the volatile nature of the Red Knights, being selected as the husband of one is considered a point of pride. Knights are considered one of the most popular mamono breeds in the realm.
