The Peco is a rather strange breed of wyvern. They are brightly colored and have an almost bird like in appearance. Their scales are very small and fine making them useless as armor but leave them with a soft velvety texture that is quite pleasant to the touch. The thumb claws on their wings are large and blunt and their tails can flatten and expand into a large paddle like shape to reveal brighly colored patterns. In place of horns they have a large, flat, crest that appears similar to ducks bill on top of their head, which can expand into a large trumpet shape to project their voice as loudly and as far as possible. They have a lean body like that of a dancer and uniquely small breasts for the Reptile Kingdom, however their breasts have a unique air bladder that allows them to expand to sizes rivaling even a holstaur in an instant. With the these air bladders Pecos are capable of altering the size and firmness of their breasts at will by simply inhaling or exhaling. They use these air bladders both to impress men as well as allow them create incredibly loud sounds or sing with having to inhale for an incredibly long time. These air bladders are not connected to the lungs so a Peco can keep them inflated for as long as she pleases without it interfering with her breathing and she can breath and use the air from her air bladders separately allowing her to sing and breath at the same time. However the more inflated a Pecos breasts are, the more sensitive they are to pleasure often growing to uncontrollable levels if they are inflated to the maximum capacity. Like all dragons, Pecos can revert back to a primal form which looks like a strange cross between a wyvern and tropical bird, however they rarely do this.
Pecos are unlike many dragons in the fact that they are remarkably bad fighters. While they are certainly more fearsome than most humans, nearly any warrior could beat them in a fight and just about any of their draconic sisters could crush them with ease. In fact, Pecos are considered to be part of a class of wyverns called "Harpy Wyverns" which are known for being far weaker than a normal wyvern.
However while Pecos are not warriors, they are fantastic entertainers. They have a beautiful singing voice and are talented dancers both being counted among the favorite activities of nearly every Peco. Their voices also have magical properties and much like a Siren hearing a Pecos song will cause those who hear it to be drawn towards them. Because of this and their tendency to live near the coast and around waterways they are frequently called "Reptile Kingdom Sirens". However unlike Sirens Pecos rarely cause shipwrecks. They are among the friendliest mamono in the kingdom and when a ship comes into view they prone to forget about singing in favor of flying out to great the new comers.
Pecos have a flamboyant and friendly personality. They love nothing more than to put on a show for others and use their talents in singing and dancing to do just that. While they have communities of their own, many of them have taken up residence in civilized locations and taken positions as dancers or singers, while others travel around as wandering bards.
Pecos love to meet and befriend new people and quite eagerly approach humans and mamono alike. Their flamboyant mannerisms can be strange at times however they can often be quite charming. This is actually the Pecos first form of defense. While their friendly and flamboyant behavior certainly draws attention to themselves, it makes it quite clear that Pecos aren't a threat and by befriending everything that they can, a Peco can greatly reduce the number of things willing to attack her. Pecos are even known to befriend the wild beasts who stalk the Reptile Kingdom wilds that could easily devour them and even the most radical member of the Order can have a hard time building any ill will towards a Peco.
While Pecos won't hesitate to befriend someone they had just met, they also won't hesitate to flee the moment things go sour. In stark contrast to most dragons, Pecos are quite cowardly and turn tail and run the moment anything or anyone shows the intent to harm them.
Should a Peco be in a position that she is left unable to flee, she will use her trump card. Not only do Pecos have a beautiful singing voice, but they are also extremely skilled at the art of mimicry. Often they will mimic the calls and roars of more fearsome mamono or beasts, usually to frighten off smaller predators, however this is far from being the limits of their vocal manipulations. Not only can a Peco warp the sound of her voice, but also the magic in her voice. Thus when a Peco is in trouble she will mimic the cry of a mamono or beast that she had befriended and combine it with a much more focused form of the charm magic in their sirens song drawing the one they are calling to them, and seeing their Peco friend in trouble or being attacked will often send them into a fury.
While Pecos are normally cowardly, they are also quite loyal to their friends and will stay to assist their friends in battle, even if they try to stat out of the main brawl. Their large thumb flaws act like a pair of flints, creating small bursts of flame when struck together, normally used as to add a bit more dazzle to their dances, Pecos also use them ignite foes when given a chance and they are also capable of shooting globs of mucous that is both flamable enough to burn when struck by her flints and also has a mild acid that can weaken armor. Though as can be expected, the Pecos most useful ability is her singing skills. Pecos are capable of warping the magic in their voice to a great degree allowing them to form a variety of useful spells. Often Pecos sing spells to heal and strengthen her allies as well generate deafening cries to stun their foes and create openings in their defenses. Some more practiced Pecos even create magical lullabies to put the foes to sleep, leaving them open to attack. Despite this however, few Pecos ever learn how to sing more destructive attack spells.
Men who encounters Pecos have little to fear of being raped. Due to their overtly friendly nature and poor fighting ability, attacking and raping men simply isn't of interest to Peco. Instead the man can expect the Peco to attempt to befriend and bring a smile to his face the same as she does for women and mamono. However the Peco may become interested in him and begin to try to spend more time, be this some kind of business arrangement, normal human courtship, or simply spending time with a friend. As time goes on the Peco may become infatuated with the man and eventually will fall deeply in love. When this happens the Peco will create a new song, one tailor made for the mans tastes. She will then perform it privately for him, coupling it with a sensual dance and pouring all of her love and passion into her voice. It is said that these first performances of a Pecos love song is some of the most beautiful music in the world. This song is the confession of the Pecos love and as if struck by a cupids arrow, the man will feel of the love and passion the Peco has for him. Moved by the beauty and emotion of the song, few men ever deny a Pecos love and the two will find themselves pulled into a dance of a different sort.
A married Peco will dote of her husband often doing all that can to bring a smile to his face. While they may continue to sing and dance in front of an audience, in truth they aren't performing for the sake of the audience but for their husband. Pecos also love to sing about how wonderful their husband is often drawing the interest of other mamono.
There is a subtype of Peco with red scales known as Crimson Pecos. These Crimson pecos are stronger, less cowardly, and far more lustful than normal Pecos and are known to make their homes in volcanic regions as well as areas where normal Pecos live. A Crimson Pecos thumb claws create electrical sparks instead of bursts of flames and can also create blinding flashes of light. They are also known to call Jhos to aid them, though this can sometimes back fire on them and the Jho may rape them as well as the threat.
Despite being poor fighters, Pecos are well sought-after by a number of people in the kingdom. Merchants find them quite useful for drawing in potential customers, the Dragoons find them to be invaluable support for their more combative members and quite a few Pecos become famous singers and entertainers within the kingdom.
[And here we have the first of the bird wyverns, or harpy wyverns as the case may be. These girls are gonna be fairly weak by dragon standards, more comparable to a more average mamono. Now most of todays MH fans entered the fandom in MH3 so nice guy that I am, I gave them the Qurupeco first. Information on the Reptile Kingdom and links to the other Reptile Kingdom mamono can be found here: (http://monstergirlencyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:The_Reptile_King/The_Reptile_Kingdom) You can also make suggestions there if you want, just follow the rules on that.
As per my norm, feedback and criticism is welcome and encouraged, so long as your criticisim is more than mindlessly insulting me, I want something useful out of it. So tell me what you think of her]
