Supreme commanders of all Autotroopers, Obsidians bodies are based on a as of now undiscovered Dragonfly manamo species. Transforming into aircraft reminiscent of an Osprey(With their wings becoming the rotors), their primary weaponry comes from a pair of machine guns that turn into their arms when in manamo-form, where they can even use them then by retracting their fingers into their arms to reveal gun sockets that can still fire at enemies. Perhaps unique to their species alone, they move primarily through their wings, hovering of the ground, unfortunately their legs nearly vestigial by this point. They are still capable of using them however should their wings become disabled, but they will not be as effective as they are when hovering. Compared to most transmorphers: Obsidian’s have a unique activation code( The word or words that can be used to bring an Autotrooper online when in stasis), that being the word Obliterate.
Among the Autobs, most are not particularly useful in battle, with some so pasifistic that it takes extremely able beings to whip them into battle-ready shape within a moments notice, this the Obsidians excel at, and more. Throughout the course of Cybertopian history, their species has been venerated and almost worshipped by most Transmorphers due to them being superb generals in battle, commanding troops through the most dire situations. In fact: many of them have been credited with not only the survival of the Autob battleforce, but saving the entire Cybertopian race from certain destruction on many occasions. With a brilliant tactical mind(Easily rivaling the Deceptors best tacticians such as Bombarders) and often extremely resourceful, they are held in high regard by Autob and Deceptor alike, it is possible that the only other Transmorphers that have as much of a reputation as them are their Strika consorts: fellow Autotroopers that provide the bulk to the Obsidian’s brains (Though they aren’t idiots either)
While they will often give their all to defend their occupation and soldiers(Even willing to lose their lives as a cost.) There is some fine print: for an Obsidian, whoever is in control of the Cybertopian people basically IS the will of Cybertopia itself, thus they will follow the commanding body without any complaints or issues, but whenever power changes hands, so will they: always going to the winning side at the end of a small war. They feel no moral qualms about doing this: as their only allegiance is to their homeworld, and possibly to their Strika consorts as well. While the Obsidian’s abandoning of the governing power is usually quite bad enough it usually gets even worse when large groups of Cybertopians follow the Obsidians and switch allegiance due to the Obsidian’s high standing among Cybertopians. If the losing side happens to bounce back however, the Obsidian will almost immediately return, often with no real compensation for their actions(The high command is often unable to waste them to punishment.)
Outside of this though, Obsidians are quite pleasant to be around, usually the voice of reason among any group of bots and usually finding the best to say about others: often noting useful qualities. Also: whenever they win a battle, they never attempt to claim credit, often citing their troop’s efforts as the cause of their victory, further making them well liked among the normal ‘Bot. They are usually quite kind to POW’s as well: only keeping them contained until either they have given all the info they need, or when the war is over, and until then they will almost live a life of luxury, with the same standards applied to the Obsidian if they are captured in turn.
Obsidians are rather laid back when in the pursuit of men and intercourse, often viewing them as unnecessary luxuries or even liabilities to their plans. But: if for any reason a battle plan needs a male for the attack to succeed, they will personally seek one out, often searching for men who can at least try to match wits with them(Though they will really head to any guy they feel will be able to assist them), they will offer high payment for him to assist them, even promising him their bodies afterwards should he be helpful. If he does what the Obsidian asks then she will indeed make good on what she promised him….Taking him up and holding him tightly to her while they have coutius in the air.
A married Obsidian is extremely protective of her husband; considering him her top priority and the one thing to protect out of everything. She will always be attentive to his needs, and will attempt to get him whatever or whoever he wants. Also: the husband has major influence with his Obsidian waifu, and will be possibly the only thing that will be able to keep her from defecting, leading many high-class transmorphers to suck up to him as well to keep them safe, as well as many simply holding high respect towards him for being the man the specific Obsidian chose.
(Welp, back in with a bang! Sorry about the small hiatus, but I was in a bit of a rut until I got a botcon set that happened to contain a figure based on the character this manamo is based on(Best 230 bucks ever spent), So i figured I’d do this one to get my groove back. If you like this one then feel free to leave any thoughts or worthwhile criticisms down below! If you want to see more species or look at the lore, here’s the link to the main transmorpher page: Link!!)
