Often called "Reptile Kingdom Mermaids" Ichthys have a similar body structure. Like mermaids, Ichthys have a fish like tail in place of legs. However there are notable differences, an Ichthys tail fin is aligned vertically instead of horizontally like a mermaids. They also have a dorsal fin similarly to a Mersharks. Their most identifiable characteristics however are a set of flippers growing from their hips and that their hands are scaley claws denoting their reptilian ancestry.
As stated, Ichthys bare a close resemblance to the Mermaids, however, the similarities between the two are only in appearance. An Ichthys demeanor is ferocious and malicious. If anything they consider the similar appearance to be a convenient way to lure unsuspecting outlanders into the water.
While Ichthys are notably weaker than larger sea going mamono and they lack any specialized defense, however they make for it in numbers, speed, and aggression. They eagerly chase down prey and viciously gang up on territorial rivals. Their powerful tail can propel them through the water at frightening speeds and their dorsal fin and flippers allow them to be stabilized through extremely rough waters and make incredibly tight turns. This combined with their seemingly limitless stamina makes a pack of Ichthys both extremely difficult for larger and clumsier foes to land a blow on and smaller swifter prey to escape.
Ichthys are known for being quite malicious and cunning. Often using nasty tricks to bring victims in the water. Keeping their tail hidden and faking being a land going mamono in peril of drowning, tricking stronger mamono into sinking ships, and deceiving foreigners with their mermaid like appearance amongst their favorite tricks. Ichthys are particularly malicious towards human women and mamono though. They violently force any mamono they can out of their territory leaving only the strongest that the pod can't beat and when they see a human woman they will aggressively attack, leaping out of the water and dragging her in if they have to. The Ichthys will swarm her and sadisticly rape her again and again until she monsterizes into one of their kind.
Ichthys are also extremely lustful, often engaging in wild orgies with each other when not otherwise occupied. When they see a man who strikes their fancy, they will aggressively attempy to get him into their clutches, dragging him in, tackling him off of docks or boats, or using some kind of trick to get him in the water. As soon as he is within their grasp, the entire pod of Ichthys will swarm him, raping him again until he can't struggle anymore before dragging him off to somewhere he can't escape where he is forced to satisfy the entire pod.
Ichthys are not without their weaknesses though, unlike true mermaids, they cannot breath underwater and must return to the surface on a regular basis. Also, should an Ichthy end up beached she will be completely helpless since their tails are both very heavy and useless for moving on land. When like this Ichthys become quite cowardly, often trying to sweet talk or bargain their way out of trouble and back into the water. It should be noted though that any man who helps her back in the water without demanding payment will quickly gain her loyalty, though whether or not that is a good thing can sometimes be debatable since her loyalties will also get him the attention of the rest of her pod.
Also, should an Ichthy be separated or banished from their pod, they become cowardly and meek. Often being very jumpy and fleeing at the slightest hint of danger. Because they rely on strength in numbers, being alone is extremely distressing and leaves them feeling incredibly exposed. Should a man show a lone Ichthy kindness and come to her aid, she will start viewing him as her new pod leader and become obedient to him, even turning against her old pod in favor of him should she be reunited with them.
Despite their malicious demeanor, Ichthys are not without their redeeming qualities. Ichthys are incredibly loyal to their pod. This includes any man the pod captures who they quickly come to view as the lowest ranking member of their pod. Even as the lowest ranking member, the Ichthys will go out of their way to keep him happy and content. To them an unhappy pod mate is a reason to for them to be unhappy. Though the man is still expected to please them at their whims and follow their orders. However, should the man be able to exert dominance over the Ichthys via sexual prowess or proving stronger than they are, he can quickly rise up the ranks within the pod and become their leader to who they will fawn over and give their total loyalties to. Also, a man who is exposed to enough of an Ichthys demonic energy will find himself adapting to an oceanic lifestyle, developing the ability to swim with the same speed and agility as they do and hold his breath just as long.
[I was aked to do the Ichthyosaur a while back. I believe them behaving like dolphins was mentioned... Well, I did that. I just applied the facets of dolphin behavior that wasn't shown on Flipper. You know, how dolphins are also rapists and viciously attack sharks even if the shark isn't a threat to them and how male dolphins have been known to attack human males. Yeah, all that. I don't like dolphins much. Useless squeaky sea demons... As per my norm, feedback and criticism is welcome and encouraged, so long as your criticisim is more than mindlessly insulting me, I want something useful out of it. So tell me what you think of her]
