All Mike can see is the shadows of the other inmates in their cells and a few guards here and there searching the area with flashlights.
Now all Whisky could do was sit and wait, his cell was locked and none of the guards were coming to let him out.
A few seconds after Josephine took flight, the Dragon guard runs off chasing after her taking flight to keep up. The other two guards call in for an immediate blockade of the section that Josephine and the Dragon guard are flying down. Further ahead Josephine can see five Arachnes webbing off the area, there's only a little time to pull off a turn-around before getting caught in the web but it would lead to a head on collision with the guard behind her.
She flares out her wings, catching as much air as possible before spinning around and ducking under the Dragon behind her. Due to her elite training, she manages to dodge just the slightest bit faster than a Harpy, and the Dragon barrels into the Arachnes' web. Josephine narrows her eyes in annoyance and tries to leap through the ceiling. However, it seemed to be inpenetrable. The Arachne guards had recovered from their shock and were closing in on her. Rapid footsteps came from her entrance, and she sighed and raised her hands.
(Did anyone keep track of how many days have passed since the beginning?)
Alpha-3956: I'm headin' out.
Alpha-2947: What? Where does that random statement come from?
Alpha-3956: My door's still wide open and the warden froze again.
Alpha-2947: You know,-
Alpha-3956: I'm stopping you right there. I'm not letting this chance slip a second time and you're not convincing me otherwise.
Alpha-2947: I already had that figured out. I just wanted to wish you good luck.
Alpha-3956: Want me to pick you up on my way out?
Alpha-2947: No thank you! I don't wanna get involved in whatever trouble you'll get into, especially with the attention you've been getting from the wardens earlier. If I ever try to escape, it won't be with you.
Alpha-3956: That's understandable. It takes some guts to be my teammate. Though your nanites would have been of great help... Anyway. I'm out!
My black clothes and dark skin vanish in the dark as my patterns and left eye cease emitting light. Unseen by the Gremlin, I slip past the Goblin statue and make my way through the corridors. N.I.G.E.L., I might still need that map though. I wouldn't want to run straight into a wall.
N.I.G.E.L.: "The scan wasn't interrupted."
Alpha-3956: Oh, well. How convenient. The map pops back up in my field of view, this time as an AR projection.
After a few minutes of playing Avoid the Spotlights in the hallways, I finally find myself back in front of the exit towards the courtyard that I don't take.
N.I.G.E.L.: "Um... Alpha?"
Alpha-3956: There's not enough cover outside to make it across the courtyard. Let's try to find the front gate instead. It may be longer, but this emergency state is the perfect distraction for-
My sentence is cut short when I take a turn around a corner and run straight into a wall of white sticky stuff blocking the way. My left eye lights up again, but in a dimmer light as to not attract too much attention from the commotion going on ahead. The first thing I see is the backs of five Arachnee guards rushing towards a surrendered Dragon with a group of flashlights coming from behind her. I then turn my head left where a Dragon in uniform, apparently in the same situation as I am, is trying to bite her way out of the thread trap. She quickly notices me.
"How come you be roaming free during a red alert, inmate?" She asks, but her authoritative tone is hard to take seriously with that piece of thread between her teeth.
Alpha-3956: "I was in the bathroom when it happened and my cell was already locked when I got back to it."
"I see... I will call.... for... someone to...." She struggles more intensely, trying to free her right arm and reach her radio, though stops after a short time before the futility of her efforts.
Alpha-3956: "Too bad you don't have these." I extend a chain, the links immediately break their formation and frantically flail around me like a storm of blades, reducing the silk to shreds... or so was intended. Instead, the attempt proves as successful as the guard's teeth because the links also get stuck in the web. ..... -_- It's more resistant than I thought... I didn't want to resort to this since they seem to be too focused on that inmate (Josephine) to have noticed me yet, but now I don't really have much choice.
The black hexagonal blades start heating up, soon emitting a red glow and slice through the net like a Glowing 1000 Degree Knife through cotton candy. "Well, see ya'!" The chain, still red-hot then switches to the Hundred Blades formation. The five swords take position on either side of me in a formation reminiscent of wings and the blades pointed back start spewing jets of plasma from the tips, propelling me forward.
"Stop him!" screams the Dragon flying after me with a burning web in the background, alerting her arthropod coworkers.
Alpha-3956: "Welp. There goes my element of surprise. I guess I'll have to go for the flashy escape then." They barely have the time to twist their heads around that a neon red blur zooms past them, slashing two of them at the legs in a slick helicoidal motion. Coming out of my aileron roll, I reverse the thrust, lock my legs and skid along the ground, ending my course in a pose, inches before the intruder. "Omae wa mou shindeiru."
"Nani?!" is all the two Arachnees could say before being struck by a sudden sensation of weakness in their wounded legs, which causes them trip and fall on their side, humorously bonking their heads together in the process.
I drop my pose and straighten up, only to find myself face to breasts with the unexpectedly tall reptilian mamono. Tilting my head back, I illuminate her face with a red light from my still lit iris. "What are you surrendering so easily for? You've got arachnophobia or what?"
[Done]
Mike: Hello!? Somebody!? Anybody!!
Standing up, I walk over to my cell door, and much like Mike, call out hello.
"Hello...!?" I call out, a hint of uneasiness in my voice.
Caroline walks in clapping her hands. "I asked you if you were lost, now we have to have a little chat. Guards, detain her and bring her to interrogation room number 3. Keep an eye out, she's not the only one here." Caroline states going off. A swarm of guards rush in to detain Josephine and put on magic restraints. (For point of reference, I'd like to say it's been at least two days.)
(Also, I'm going to say that Mike, you and Whisky can hear each other. You can't see because it's still to dark but you can hear each other.)
(Alpha, the reason that Justine became a statue is because I was waiting for a response from the conversation you two had had, but I'm going to allow that escape for one reason and you'll see why later. So work with me for a bit.) Justine snaps out of her trance and looks around for the escaped Alpha. "What? Where did he...(Ponders for a moment before shaking her head.) I'll deal with him later. For now I must go, before things get worse..." She says to herself. As for the situation 3956 has found himself in, a voice in the back of his head shouts 'Run!' it yells.
(It was Justine's turn to answer. I even posted a reminder a day ago and your following reply skipped me to answer TJK, Monsterknight and Addiction.
Alpha: Wait, what? I'm confused now, because that "unexpectedly tall reptilian mamono" is Josephine.)
(Really? Man, I must've been more caught off guard by that fist of the north star clip then I thought...Well, never mind the action I made, only the voice happened after. Josephine is out of my jurisdiction.)
Josephine sighs and shrugs. "Trespassing is one thing. Assault is another. I'm just trying to find the target and retrieve him. I know when I'm outnumbered." She gets taken away by the guards, and the camera latches over to Ruth.
Following the anonymous warning, my blades spring out of their rest position and I quickly spin around and adopt a defensive fighting stance, preparing myself for an imminent attack.
