(S9) Melandil looks distant, his eyes searching a memory that only he sees. [It was hundreds of years ago. It was during the time of the great migration, when the animals were moving south to avoid the war. All animals---prey, predator, birds. The displacement sent ripples of imbalance throughout the land, causing great chaos. One day, this chaos came in the form of a Cadagaunt.]
He looks to Lilrava. [I can see by your eyes that you do not know what I speak of. Cadagaunts are rare now, very rare. Great reptilian creatures, easily a hundred feet long. Scales like shields, a head like a viper, and talons like a falcon, but, of course, much larger. The great mystery is how they were never turned into Mamono with the rise of the Maou, but that is another tale.]
He pours himself a drink. [In ancient times, hunting the Cadagaunt was a rite of passage for the young men of our noble lineages, made possible through the fact that princes were rare enough that the species was never threatened. But when the prey animals came south, the Cadagaunts became bold, and would hunt more in the open, instead of in the dark fens and grottoes where they normally reside. This meant that they lost their fear of Man and Elf. We discovered this when one came to a human village and, finding no cattle, began to attack the people there.]
Tirush doesn't do anything at first, but she doesn't have to. She knows that Kittycut is taller than she is, and probably feels she has the advantage because of it. She keeps her mouth open, not working it into a kiss, so as to transmit as much of the Dragonfire as she can, allowing Kittycut to become complacent for just a moment...
Then she makes her move. Like a great crocodile, she rotates her massive tail, throwing their balance off and flipping them over. She unfurls her great wings, locking them around Kittycut as they roll, and clamping them as tight as an iron casket and restricting her movement. Then, she takes a deep breath.
She doubles her effort. If Kittycut was hit with a flood before, now she finds herself the recipient of a force of nature, the energy flooding into her mouth, Tirush's legs clamping around her, their stomachs pressed together. The effort causes magic Dragonfire to briefly burst around them, rattling tables and silverware as the dull roar echoes through the room.
Even Cyndwella seems briefly surprised. Thomas stands gaping, all but ignoring Rita.
"This...this is completely unfair..." he whimpers.
"Five thousand silver marks says the hottie burns her up!" Leontyne says excitedly.
"I'll see yer bet, and raise ye my party wagon!" Bale leaps onto a table.
"You're on, short stack!" Leontyne bursts into laughter.
