You are a professor at a university that is attended by both humans and mamono. Close to the university is a range of of mountains that have several walking trails. To get to your place of work, you use one of the trails.
One day, word gets around that a canister went missing from the science complex. That canister was said to have held a serum that would have given the user a great boost of intelligence. Investigators ask around the university to try to get a lead of some sort, but no luck. One student also complained about not being able to find her glasses anywhere, but that was a lower priority.
Three days later, you're on your way to the university when you hear a feminine voice shout, "Wurms, it is time!"
You proceed down an alternate path of the trail and come across an odd scene. On top of a large rock was a purple-scaled Wurm that was wearing a pair of glasses. Below her were Wurms gathered in an amount that would send even the most powerful of warriors running for the hills.
The purple Wurm shouts to her audience, "For years, we have been seen as simple-minded, dumb, rock-brained!"
The other Wurms give each other looks of confusion, though some of them give boos and groans of disapproval. The purple Wurm motions for the crowd to settle and shouts, "That ends today!"
She raises her hand into the air, and in that hand you can see the canister that was reported stolen three days prior. Cheers erupt from the audience, and the lead Wurm calms them once more. "In my hand, is a serum, that will give us the greatest intelligence that the world has ever known. I used it on myself, and I have become smarter!"
The Wurms cheer again as the lead Wurm continues, "There is a science lab down there in that university, we raid it, and we can show those big-brained mamono that we're the smartest! Men will start looking to us for guidance more than those stupid Hakutakus and Ryus! Men will start erecting statues of us in honor of our wisdom! We will have the advantages of both brains and brawns, no longer monsters with just tiny brains and big muscles!"
The crowd erupts into a wild encore, mainly at the thought of becoming smarter than average.
You know of their plan, but you don't know when it'll happen.
