I find it strange that Kenkou Cross hasn't created more Tsukumogami (spirits of unliving tools, like the Chochin-Obake or the Karakasa-Obake... many of those are ridiculously easy to adapt:
-Boroboroton: A futon that tries to suffocate its owner at night... come on, that is practically a Mamono already! The most difficult part would be to make it girl-shaped...
- Biwa-bokuboku/Koto-furunushi/Shamichoro:Spirits of musical instruments; they mostly play at night while their owners sleep. Easy-peasy too, make them ghosty girls playing musical instruments who enter the bedroom of single men, awake them with their music and have sex with them in a dreamlike state....
-Morinji-no-okama/Zenfushō: A tea kettle. In japanese folklore they are monster with a kettle for head; KC could make them geisha-like masters of the tea ceremony who has a kettle-shaped hat/headdress/hairdo.
- Menreiki: Born fom gigaku (a sort of drama-dance perfomance) masks. I see them as a troupe of actors who never remove their make up/face paint, because their faces are really like that, or maybe it's just one girl, but she can change appearance, skills and personality by changing masks.
-Abumi-guchi: Furry creature born from a stirrup lost and left behind during a battle. It basically is like a dog that waits for its master to come back...
I wonder if the reason KC doesn't use these is that he thinks they are overdone, or maybe that they are boring because japanese public is very used to them...
