"I suppose you'll have to make our case then, traveler. The troops will need guidance and my Knight a handler. If you must worry about them, then you and your crew can handle them. I'm not much one for diplomatic endeavors, that's something for my advisors and my Knight to take care of; I tried it once, my sister wasn't very happy about it." Lustia explains.
(Sorry I didn't reply earlier, was pretty busy or tired depending on the day.) "Great. First giant deadly machines, and now super freeze ones. Let's just hope they're not intending to concentrate everyone in select places to make a Philosopher's Stone while we're dealing with them on top of that..." I sigh, pull a notepad out of my bag and start taking notes about the current situation and strategies. Once I'm done, I add: "I could try and act as a mediator, but something's telling me they won't agree to put an end to all of this just by talking it out."
Christa slams her fist down. "You're damn right it won't work! If you try to negotiate with them they'll want all of the present mamonos dead! I'm not sacrificing soldiers for deaf ears! They either fall or we do, and I'm taking them with me if I go." She states firmly.
Micah folds her arms satisfied with Lustia's response and says, "Good."
She turns to the group of mamono standing around the table and mumbles under her mask, "Bout time you did something sensible."
This is more for keeping Isaac under control should his demon form be unleashed rather than the discipline of the Wonderland troops.
Kenzie glares at Red and scolds, "You idiot! The Order won't ever make peace with monsters like us! This makes them good for two things: destroying them and humiliating them!"
"Relax Kenzie, our friend only made a suggestion," Spiga says as she places a reassuring claw on the Blaster's shoulder.
"Yeah, I know the chances are so slim it wouldn't make any positive difference. If it was just an everyday conflict in a normal town, I might have been able to find a compromise, but it's a war we're talking about."
I note something down and ask: "On another topic, do you have anything that could convert at least some of their towns, possibly even big ones, into Demon Realms? Whether it's slow or sudden doesn't matter much. Since it's their worst nightmare, we may as well bet on an intimidation strategy to dissuade them... Maybe it could even divert them and make them focus and spread between several points of interest. It's only a temporary solution though, since they're bound to reply to that with other technical means."
I lower my head and resume: "Not that I'm too fond of it, nor am I fond of the current situation. It could also worsen and hurry things a bit. And I wouldn't like to see places actually turned into Demon Realms by my fault either."
"We wouldn't have the time nor would it work. The nearest towns are all under strict Order protection. If we tried that we'd give ourselves away, it also doesn't help that we wouldn't be able to generate enough DE to convert the town in the first place with the amount of time we'd be given. It's a no go." Christa explains.
"Any possibility that we could reach out to other Demon Realms for assistance? Perhaps get other Lilims to lend their support?" asks Micah.
"Men would have an easy time getting away from you. Your rocky attitude would just hold you in place," Kenzie states pointing at Christa, growing annoyed with her pessimistic attitude.
"Kenzie!" Spiga scolds and gives the Blaster a hard tug which gets a wimpy, "Ow!" out of her.
"I don't need other men, I already have my idiot." Christa replies unimpressed. "It's not a bad idea, it'd take some convincing though, I doubt they'd be willing to risk their lives as well as their husbands...At this rate we might as well wait for my husband to get my sister to help for that to work," Lustia says.
"Then... Do you think it would work if you pretended you had such a weapon within your reach? If it can impress them and drive them to retreat, or at least stall them, that would spare us some time. Or maybe you can pretend the artefact Isaac recovered has the power to absorb Demonic Energy faster to release it at a later date. The real problem is if they strike back though, because then we won't have much to show."
