Recently, you decided to get away and relax for a weekend. A solo fishing trip seemed to fit the bill nicely. Nothing dangerous, just you, your fishing gear, and a rented kayak on a peaceful little lake not far from home.
The first day went nicely. You caught a few fish and started to settle into the tranquility that camping out in nature provided. Just what you intended, really.
The second day started off similarly. Unfortunately, as time quietly moved along, you began to feel like you were no longer alone. That feeling slowly progressed into the sensation of being watched. Your relaxation ruined, you began to look around the waters surrounding you for your suspected stalker. Several minutes of searching revealed nothing, yet the feeling of being hunted continued to grow heavier. Thoroughly unnerved, you decided to head back to shore before you decend into full-on anxiety.
As you are dragging your kayak up onto shore, you finally catch sight of your stealthy follower. There, hidden amongst the reeds, is a mamono! Though she's still partially submerged, the long snakelike tail and luxurious fluff immediately give her species away: she's a bunyip. And she looks like she's about to pounce...
