“Easy first then work up. As you wish, limiting battle output to low.” Julia nodded as she held the sword and prepared herself.
The town that Kirk would come across had a nice big sign to greet him. The town of Istvan, a well known tourist location for many heroes that come here. And of course a place with many quests.
"Do heroes really come here?" Lynn inquires as she studies the sign.
"All kinds from what I've heard," Kirk replies.
"Even Order heroes?" Lynn asks with an expression of genuine concern.
Kirk hesitates. He has no idea how to answer this one. This was something he didn't consider throughout the entire trip here. After mentally facepalming at his ineptitude he turns to Lynn and says, "If there are any walking around then we'll know. If it puts your mind at ease I think there'll be plenty more pro-monster heroes in here than anti-monster."
A trusting grin forms on Lynn's face.
Kirk motions toward the town and says, "Now let's get a move on. I'd like to get some questing done."
The two of them proceed into Istvan and after several minutes of searching and following the guides they come upon a job board.
"Now let's see what's available," Kirk whispers to himself as he scans the contracts available, looking for one that may suit the couples' interests.
(Might I give the two a quest?)
(I'll leave it up to Spec since he's the one running the show.)
(Feel free)
(Tikkit? The Atlas...)
Lauren points to Joro. "He's over there convincing that guy to join."
The two could see a rather simple looking quest, something about investigating rumors. It seemed to pay well to, as it said the reward was 170 gold.
(I wonder how Kirk and Lynn will meet the rest of your characters lol.)
Kirk eyes the quest that seems easy enough. Just look into some rumors. "This one will be a good way to get us started," Kirk mutters as he peels the contract off of the board and begins to read it with Lynn staring over his shoulder.
"Easy as you can go and up." And with that, he handed her a training sword they started to train. At first, the training was easy at first but slowly the difficulty rose. Soon he'd be putting more and more effort into the training until he was getting either knocked back on his ass or Julia managing to get the sword up to his throat. He'd keep at it for a couple of hours and it would seem his skill improved just a bit. He wasn't doing any of his usual tactics, just swordplay. He'd get knocked on his ass once again trying to pass the current level. With a sigh, he'd get up.
"Let's take a break. Thanks for helping me train."
MEANWHILE
"Oh..." She said as she looked over at the two. Seemed like they were getting along... Though the tall man had a stoic expression.
"Well, what's your name? Mines Mary."
"Mine's Lauren, it's nice to meet you."
There have been rumors of a strange beast terrorizing a village. Though these are probably false it would put my mind at ease to have someone investigate them.
The quest came with a map leading to the village.
