When a single Rat Raider appears, a single one of these mamono alone hardly poses a threat. However, when a group of them comes, expect to deal with nothing short of a problem that can and will arise in Ahora. These species of mamono are the least honorable, but they are greatly honest about their intentions, thus probably the only reason why an untamed or those that aren't under servitude are allowed to roam about the land of Ahora. They are a raiding type, as their name suggests, and prey on those that are weak, or otherwise unprotected, stealing their goods and such since resources are always fought over despite the amount food and water always present on the Japanese-like continent.
Rat Raiders are clever, but not overly so, since even they are prone to blunders sometimes. The have varying figures, from curvy and voluptous to petite and thin in stature. Their desire to gain greater wealth often, if not always, drives them to raid more and more places. Though the more they acwuire in the process, the more attention it places on them from the other households of Lords owning mamono, or the warring factions and clans that vie for control over the areas such as these storage outlets that Rat Raiders usually thrive in.
Unlike most Mamono in Ahora though, they can be found literally everywhere on the continent. Due to their knack for finding little cracks and nooks, they expand on it and make it to thr point where the crack in a set of rocks becomes a dungeon, as they will use resources from tine to tine to make it wuite liveable. Another thing that separates them from ordinary Rat mamono is tgat they are disease free, since being clean is on the forefront of their mind, though they don't fear getting theor hands dirty in the line of their business of looting, scavenging, and raiding.
Moreover, Rat Raiders can be found in great numbers after a clash between factions or clans, scavenging up goods others may have dropped on the battlefield. Typically in any battle scenario, it often ends with the Rat Raiders picking up the pieces and selling the leftovers, carrying as much as their paw like hands can carry. No matter the outcome of a fight, you'd best retrieve it quickly, for there id almost certainly a platoon of Rat Raiders waiting to scavenge.
The number of Rat Raiders depends on the horde of loot their leader has gathered. The more a Rat Raider has gathered, the more followers and power (influentially) she'll acquire as well. A leader's threat indicator will also rise. Most Rat Raiders never earn a more infamous title than plunderer, but there are cases where it does end up going higher than that. And when it gets past that, it's when the factions and clans of Ahora start to take notice.
When cornered, they won't back down from a fight. In the case of a human male, or one that interests them, they'll fight him to the bitter end, often laying down in utter defeat. As it is said before, a single Rat Raider alone makes them not so much a threat, but more of a nuisance. Afterwards they'll plead for the human male to spare them, offering to serve him so long as she lives. If he agrees, she will go and occasionally bring back goods from scavenged goods from battlefields to their Lord's home, and sonetimes will aid him in combat (unless its in the case of an offical duel), using their guerilla tactics to maximize the element of suprise. If it's another mamono or human female, they will surrender where they are to be tried for their actions of plundering without legal rights to do so.
Once a Rat Raider has such permissions to legally loot areas of conflict, they are required to put ninety percent of their acquired loot to the people. The other ten percent is left for her to do with as she pleases. This ends up being less than desirable for them, but in the end it will be better off for the Rat Raider individual, since legal looters often ate treated with more respect and kindness.
