If the husband dies from a natural cause (old age) or diseases, they will naturally mourn for him or for monsters like liches or banshees they will try and bring him back from the dead.
If, however, the husband is killed by a person, they will go through any means to find their killer and give them a new meaning of hell. Especially with high tier monsters like the dragon, they will literally destroy one or more villages just to find the person that killed their husband.
This goes to show on how much these mamono love their husbands.
KC said that most mamono will 1.-Ask a necromancer to raise the husband, or 2.-Find a way to travel to the Afterlife (Hel's domain), or 3.-Live as a widow her remaining lifespan.
It's not impossible to convince a manono to remarry, but it is very, very, very, very, VERY HARD! Manono don't cheat, and, as far as she is concerned, her husband is waiting for her in the afterlife... I guess the only way a namono would remarry is when the Chief Goddess claims the husband's soul, making a future reunion impossible...
Would they kill the killer in order to avenge their husband? Iirc, mamonos don't kill
I dunno. We know mamono will kill to protect their families and their own lives, but I don't know if they would do it as revenge...
They wouldn’t kill, but they would do their best to make the killer’s life as miserable and as difficult as possible.
I don't know... mamono seem to have a hard time conceiving non-sexual punishments, and she certainly wouldn't do anything sexual to her husband's killer...
I think either death or no punishment are more likely...
Well, if it was a sexual punishment, that person wouldn't be able to walk for weeks with how rough she'd be.
Well , in the end it depends on the paticular mamono in question. Some would be more inclined to use violence (ogres, hellhounds, dragons and the like) whilst others would use methods depending on their abilities.
While I don't think a Mamono would kill, certainly not out of revenge, nor would they cripple the perpetrator, I do think they would certainly make their displeasure known. Either by putting absolute terror in the killer (if they're remorseless), or by letting the killer know just how much she grieves (if the killer does feel remorse).
Still, as Galeah said, the problem is that Mamono have evolved (physically and mentally) to subdue anyone through sexual means. I'm not sure if any of them are even capable of causing serious harm to a human. Either physically for the weaker ones, or mentally for the stronger ones.
