Hello, chums! As promised, I placed my next Mamono in connection to the Necrophyte. She doesn't particularly harbor as a hazard.. but you won't like meeting her. Check the home of all Naetherkin to get an ogle on this one's home realm. Meet...
Carniscula
Art by Jeiel Yozama, scholar of the Nonareichen.
Species : Majinn
Family: Chimaera
Habitat : Quitonne LVL C, as well as deep holes situated sparsely in the Naether.
Diet : Meat, sometimes plant material, mana of men
Common Statement : If you want to talk to me.. you must converse to all within me.
Jeiel's Comment : She would have been cool. Problem is "the child". All she does is bawl and scream. Can the other personas tell her to put a lid on it?
An abomination of a Mamono with no exact origin. According to the articles of Quitonne, the containment and research facility in the Naether, it was conceived from multiple animal and creature cells growing out of the body of a human girl - but others disagree. It is said her existence is tied to the famous beings of the chaotic Abyss - but was cast out because of her unpredictable nature and later stumbled into the dark realm. Another theory stipulates it is a amalgamation of bodies brought about by Circe, who cursed a girl who erred her by calling her a 'hackjob of a ruler'. Even stranger is the tale of a girl who was near death, and to save her a slew of flesh from different magical beings were fused into her heart.
One thing is for sure : no one knows which of these facts are to be believed. Apart from some of the greater members of its kind housed in Quitonne, there are a handful of Carniscula in the Naether expanse - but they choose to isolate themselves from other Naetherkin, living in deep holes where they are said to live in contemplation, leaving once in a while to hunt. Reasons are, they prefer not to be concerning themselves with the majority of the underrealms's denizens.
The Carniscula possesses many parts often poking out of its back like spines. These parts can be insect feelers, tentacles, appendages or horns. Animal and demihuman heads that constantly grunt, squeal and wail are also fixed on their skin, which they can command to hide 'when' they are able to. On their main head, a single eye rests above their forehead which is able to detect heat, humidity, and energy. This eye is said to be the representation of the consciousness known as "the child".
To explain, the Carniscula consists of a score of consciousnesses strapped into one being. No one knows the number of consciousnesses a newborn Carniscula starts with; all that is known is that she gains more throughout her lifetime, and these personas vary from "the girl" (the default persona), "the wolf", "the learned", "the sinful", "the octopus" and many more. Research has shown the Mamono gains personas from their food, generating a mentality reminiscent of the animal they fed upon. The greatest and most feared is "the child" who is considered as the personas' hidden leader. Dealing with the multitudinous personas is a reason why they prefer not to associate with others.
In every known cycle of time in the Naether (the time period and duration is unpredictable, for the most part), the Mamono wears a certain consciousness among the many she bears. If the personas have one thing in common, it's that they will lust for a man so intensely, the main body will convulse in the thought of mating with one. The animal heads and parts will shriek and flail, and the Carniscula will try to prevent herself from succumbing to their whims. On the other hand, when a Carniscula is in heat, the animal noises created by her start to collude into a series of haunting sounds. While other beings shrug this off as a disturbing cacophony, men will be drawn to find it as it is a sound designed to lull them into curiosity. They will be drawn into the Carnisculas's hiding hole - where they await and upon spotting the opposite sex, they will pounce on him without delay.
The animal parts may frenzy at the sight of a male, but once the Carniscula and the man are face to face through submission the personas act calmly and take turns. The default persona often starts enticing the man into performing sex with the Mamono. When the man fires his mana out for the first time, a switch is flipped within and the Mamono's next persona emerges, wanting to also "assimilate" with the male. Plunging into the Carniscula's orifice allows the man's member stay erect and lust for her, and so the Mamono and the male will mate for long periods of time, to ensure that all personas are sated with mana.
Perhaps the worst among all personas during sex is "the child". From the very beginning, this particular persona is infantile; she urges the rest to obey her while she bawls and sulks about wanting mana all the time. She will thrash at anything that upsets her, and will desire to create more personas under her control. Towards sex, "the child" greedily slobbers over the man and repeatedly shoves her mouth and vaginal area upon his tool. Throughout the session of sex she will repeatedly manifest demanding coitus, as if she is never satisfied. It is as if her desire is to dominate the man, like how she dominates the consciousnesses in the Carniscula herself.
A married Carniscula will become exceedingly obedient to the man, though. Being the provider of mana she will keep him satisfied by acting as his hand in duties and responsibilities (if the male doesn't desire to live in the hole with her she will join him wherever he goes, and will try to disguise as a random Mamono to "blend in", albeit bearing a bright red or peach skin tone). Every once in a while, one of the personas will feel lustful and she will request sex from him, to which he will comply soundly since he believes the Carniscula deserves it. However, once one persona is satisfied with her helping of mana, other personas will join in the demand for sex, thus enacting another session to satisfy every last persona she has.
No one is completely sure what happens when one of the Carniscula's many animal heads or parts deattach from her, but it is said that when this occurs, a bunch of personas join the lost part (so the Carniscula loses some of the consciousnesses she has in the process), and the part will swell into an oversized egg. Days later, a new Carniscula hatches from the egg, with a slew of personas hailing from its parent body (still, no Carniscula has been observed first-hand doing this behavior).
The Carniscula is blamed for the existence of the Necrophyte, whose bonded-flesh infection is believed to be an extension of her obscenely lustful persona. There are also other Mamonos formed after a 'piece' of the Carniscula had bonded with their original bodies, turning them into apex hunters of the Naether.
That gives us the Carniscula ! Do you dare ? Till next time~!
