Continuing to sit in my cell, I groaned angrily at my own misfortune, even having to listen to the chorus of moans emanating from the other cells, knowing full-well that the town had long since collapsed under the invasion of mamono that had come through, and everyone had fallen to it.
Everyone but me, it seems.
Looking outside the window at the reddish sky and the seemingly-unchanged town outside, I was again assailed by the carnality of monsters by the sight of dozens of monsters and guys having sex out in the streets.
“Damn it all…” I muttered to myself, knowing the area was effectively doomed, but a little confused as to why they hadn’t tried to corrupt ME yet.
Not that I wanted them to: it just didn’t make sense why they were just leaving me here.
At first, they seemed to want to turn me to their side, but now they just left me in this cell, only coming by to feed me from time to time.
Until now, that is.
I thought it was just breakfast being late, but then breakfast rolled into lunch, and still no meal. At first, I thought there might be a problem with the food supply in town, until the moaning from the other cells stopped, and the other prisoners began to pass my cell, all of them being escorted out of the building.
At the end, someone stood outside my own cell: not a guard, or a police officer, but rather a holstaur, who was dressed in work overalls and looked as if she had just come from a farm somewhere. “Umm… can I help you?” I asked, confused.
“Yes. Yes you can.” She stated simply, offering a warm smile as a guard opened the cell. “You have been released from this facility into the custody of our farm. You’ll be helping us out until released from custody.”
“…why?” I asked, a little confused by this turn of events.
“Because this place will not exist soon.” The guard next to her informed me. “There’s no need for a jail in mamono society. You see, we have other ways we can help people. In fact, you are the only one still in custody, since everyone else has repaid their debt to good society. Maybe spending some time doing some good for society will help you see that we’re not the plague on the world that you think we are!”
After this, I was escorted out of the building as it was shuttered for the last time, apparently scheduled for demolition. Going out of the town to a mamono farm outside it, I looked around the place, rather surprised there were mamono ‘farms’.
It wasn’t exactly a farm, per se. It was more of a small village located at the center of a large plot of farmland, the inhabitants working the fields and raising all manner of plants, both the usual that I recognized and strange demon realm plants that I’d never seen before, being brought to what appeared more like a barracks than a farmhouse, and each bed indicating that someone was using it from personal effects by the bed, before the holstaur, Cecilia, pointed me to the bed I was now standing next to. “You shall sleep here whilst working here.”
“So…” I couldn’t help but start, sitting down at the edge of the bed “…why did you bring me here?” I couldn’t help but ask.
“Quite simple.” She replied, still seeming to be encouraging at the moment. “You think we’re all monsters, and we want to show you just how good, peaceful and happy the world can be when we are in charge here~”
All of a sudden, Cecilia was too close, standing over me and then telling me “First things first, though, my boy, you seem like you’re starving.” Now moving her hands behind her back, before holding out a small glass bottle and handing to me, saying “Drink that. You’ll feel better.”
In the state I was in, I grabbed the bottle without hesitating and drank it immediately, feeling a sense of relief sweep through the entirety of my being, before looking back down at the markings on the bottle, I realized what the liquid was “Holstaur milk… yours?” I asked, bright red upon realizing what I might have drank.
“Possibly.” She responded simply, shrugging “The bottles each come from one holstaur, but it’s unclear whose each was. Would you have liked it to be mine? You looked disappointed.”
“N-n-no!” I then protested, standing up with a start, able to feel the strength in my limbs properly again.
“Aww… oh, well.” She told me, sounding disappointed, before gesturing for me to follow her, continuing to show me around the ‘farm’, where each mamono who’d found a husband lived in one of these houses, whereas the single girls all lived in the shared house with any single males that were brought into the place.
“Sadly, you’re on your own here as a single guy, so you might attract some attention. But we’re going to have to teach you what you’ll be in charge of…” she then informed me, now leading me to another building that looked almost like a small clinic on the inside, a strange assortment of equipment, alongside a huge number of large metal containers. “…you’re in charge of milking the holstaurs here.” She then told me, before showing me the proper use of the equipment. “We always have the single guys do this job, since it not only helps the girls find out if you’re compatible, but it gives you a chance to talk to them while you’re milking them. Again, it’s only the single holstaurs. Once we get married, our husband gets that job~” she told me, smiling and blushing at the thought, a glint of gold on her hand finally catching my eye.
“I… see…” I started slowly, starting to wonder how I might get out of here, but considering the circumstances, milking these cow-girls didn’t seem all that bad, especially considering some of the other mamono I’d heard about, and since the town fell, it felt unlikely that I could actually get very far from here…
We’ll just see where this goes from here…
(Definitely will be adding a third part to this.)
