Chip lottery?
What now?
Up until now, I had somewhat been enjoying my day, just having some chips while watching a TV episode on how chips were actually made. While a little boring, it was enough to pass the time quietly today, while still giving me something for my intellectual curiosity.
“Now there’s a ‘man lottery’? Do these mamono stop at nothing?” I mused aloud, as the arrow now pointed at someone’s name, leading to cheers and shouts of excitement as a well-endowed, blue-skinned woman stood up, looking as if dressed more for a day at the beach than anything else, now making her way up toward the hosts and shaking their hands.
“What exactly am I winning?” Her voice asked the hosts.
“Oh, gee, I wonder what a mamono wins in something called the ‘man lottery’? This ought to get dumb…” I commented, shaking my head a little at the scenario, wondering how exactly they were going to pick whoever was set up with her, considering they didn’t seem to have a guest with them.
Was one of the hosts the prize?
I doubted that, as I had seen these guys on TV before, so I assumed they did this sort of thing more than once.
However, as they began to explain to her that a random bag of chips contained a card that her lucky guy would have gotten, I shook my head. “I was right, that is dumb. What if it was part of a bulk order that never left the store, or if a girl bought it? Or someone gave it to their kid? There’s no way this would actually work out…”
But, just as I had finished this thought, as if the universe itself wanted to get one over on me, the bag I had been subconsciously eating from gave me something I hadn’t been expecting. When I couldn’t just chew through it, I looked down at a small piece of cardboard that said ‘you’re the lucky winner!’
Though, to me, it might as well as have said “I’m sorry, were you saying something?” before the piece gave a loud beep, the TV suddenly having my address on display on a map screen.
“There he is! Go get ‘em!” the host called out, before the demon flew from the stage toward the doors.
It took me a moment to fully accept what was happening: She was coming HERE. I now needed to consider my options quickly.
I suppose I could smash the thing, but someone’s probably made note of the location from the screen image, and would doubtless tell her in case she got lost, so that wouldn’t work.
I could take off for a few days, but I get the feeling after showing up here, a particularly-sensitive mamono might be able to track me from the passive scent of my energy, and even then would check in every so often, or just wait for me to come back.
Besides, I didn’t really feel like abandoning my life just from this.
Then again, I could just stay here and wait for her. After all, from the brief moments I saw her, she was quite lovely, and that outfit left very little for me to guess at, so she had that going for her, but I had no idea what she was like.
“What should I do?!” I thought aloud, growing more nervous by the second as I couldn’t figure which way to go with this.
“You could turn around.” A voice spoke from behind me.
In the state I was in, I hadn’t even really registered the voice, but did indeed turn around, now clearly able to see that demon from on the TV standing in front of me. “Hi there~” she stated pleasantly, not yet advancing, simply affirming her presence.
“Hey. I’m a little…” I started, before it finally registered with me what had just happened. “A little… umm…” I continued, trying to say something, but my mouth refusing to form words for some reason.
“For both our sakes, I really hope you’re not.” She teased with a smirk, now taking a step toward me. “I’ve gotta say, the place is a bit of a mess, but we can fix that~”
At the moment, I was unnerved by the look in her eyes, or perhaps it was just the eyes themselves, as I had never seen anyone with black eyes where the white should be.
“Well, to be honest, I wasn’t expecting company…” I admitted, trying to keep the conversation going so that nothing strange would happen. However, as her wings and tail continued to tense and un-tense as she came toward me, I had the feeling she wouldn’t be leaving much room for alternatives.
“We’re going to have to change that, aren’t we?” She started, as I continued to back up through the small hallway between rooms, unknowingly backing up into my bedroom, which was currently rather well-kept compared to the living room. “Because this company isn’t leaving~ ever~”
As she stepped into the room after me, I felt something pick me up out of nowhere, and saw her holding out a glowing hand a moment, setting me down on my bed before her wings carried her onto the bed on top of me “Now, sweetie, let’s see how lucky I got~”
“W-wait!” I responded nervously, feeling as if my face was on fire looking up at her doting expression “We literally JUST met!” I attempted to turn the situation around.
“Oh, sweet pea, how about this: if you’re still saying that after, then we can talk~” she told me, her face now barely an inch from mine, allowing me to see every detail of her perfect features. Her eyes were transfixed on mine as I felt her hand slip under my pants “Hmmm… not as little as you made yourself sound~ We’ll sort out the contract later~”
“W-wait, contract…?” I asked, but that was as far as I got before my voice was muffled by her mouth being in the way.
I’m glad I didn’t actually have time to try to leave.
