"Urgh... That ride was bumpier than expected..." Alex groans as he slowly lifts himself from the rubbles, still shielding his companion.
"Alex, what happened? Are you alright?" The Gremlin worries.
"Yeah, I'm fine; my backbox took the brunt of the force. I had to jump to avoid running into one of the defenders and you know what happens when you leave the ground at those speeds." he explains, "And you?"
"I'm okak, somehow. But you..." She says, checking his arms and face covered in scratches.
"'Tis but a scratch." He memes, brushing her hands aside, then sets her down.
"Hm? How odd… It seems all electrical activity in the surroundings has abruptly ended." Nigel notes.
"What?! For real?!" Now realizing the absence of the constant thunder and the brighter lighting, Alex rushes out the front door to be greeted by the sight of the last few monsters deserting the streets and the now clear sky. "... Yo, what the fuck?"
"Does that mean... we won?" asks Emmeline, arriving shortly after.
He shrugs. "I guess?"
"Alex, look!" She sets off toward the group of Aubrey, Silas and George, waving at them. "Hey! Is everyone okay?"
Alex follows her at a leisurely pace, still sore from the crash. "Aw man, that sucks! For once that there was both a massive thunderstorm and plenty of enemies to fight, it could've at least lasted a little longer..."
"Likewise, my friend... It is not everyday that the occasion to exercise my powers in optimal conditions presents itself. Compared to the other elements, lightning in such amounts is much harder to come by in nature." The two wallow in their disappointment.
Without even looking, Alex points an electric arc at the very last creature to leave as it scurries by them, shocking it into paralysis.
(By the way, what time is it now?)
