"Ah! Glad you asked!" he says, completely forgoing the acknowledgement of their names, "You see, there are two things at play here: my backbox of holding and Mimi. The box itself is just the chest equivalent of a bag of holding where I store all my equipment. Why such an encumbering heavy box instead of a regular, easy-to-carry bag of holding, you ask? That question will be answered later, but for now, let's focus on Mimi..." He then proceeds to spend the next fifteen minutes going at length about everything even remotely related to Mimics and his backbox, and then some.
"Aaand he's gone." A pair of furry ears props up between the siblings. "Some advice for future discussions with him: never ask him about his inventions, otherwise you will lose your speech privileges for the following while." the Gremlin advises.
"TL;DL: No, I don't have an entire village in my backbox, Mimi just uses it to travel between me and our mobile house." he finally concludes his lecture. "By the way, are you perhaps mute?" he asks Aubrey, but doesn't wait for an answer, "Because if that's the case, then I might just have something to help with that." He pops his right eye out of its socket, revealing it to be artificial. "Emmeline made it after she accidentally busted the original, but it has the same functionalities: scanner, augmented reality display and holographic projection. Or at least, it will eventually; it's not complete yet." he says, popping it back in, then waves a hand in front of the eye to activate it. "Using a negligible amount of Spirit Energy, it can lay the wearer's conscious thoughts for all to see, be they visual..." The hologram shifts between many 3D schematics, including his plane, his backbox, The Pointer (renamed Clockedge) and a set of two big metal boots and gauntlets. "or, more interestingly for your case, verbal." It then morphs into a rectangular window containing text that reads "[insert sample text here]".
"If you can imagine it, it can show it. With this you won't need to have your brother translating everything you want to say."
"Of course, you don't have to lose an eye to use it." Emmeline chimes in, "I can make one out of rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings… whatever item you want."
"And since we're acquaintances, we can make you one for free!"
"And who decided that?!" the petite mamono leaps up to him to deliver an anticlimactically unimpressive slap across his face. "That's easy for you to say when you're not the one who has to perform such a complex enchantment, idiot!" she explodes, then clears her throat as she regains her composure before addressing the sister once more, "Of course it won't be free, but you certainly won't be paying full price either. I can guarantee as much."
"Plus, Mimi can deliver it for free!" she happily offers, alluding to her delivery service that Alex mentioned in his lecture.
"So, what do you say?" he asks.
"Oh! And one last thing to consider. You can probably tell that we are far from the simple flaming sword enchantment, so expect several months if you do place an order, but the process can be much shorter if you choose a text-only display." Emmeline adds.
