Burden follows, still shaky from the flying experience.
At this time 'The Golden Goose' wasn't too rowdy or exciting. Maxine walked through the door and smiled, laughing as she stepped through the threshold. The Black Harpy bartender looked at her with narrow eyes, "Maxine. Always a pleasure" she said, as she finished wiping the area and went to the back with a few mugs.
Burden would follow her in, somewhat calmed down now from his flying experience, and ready to drink away the memory of it.
After spotting the cave, Caelia circled it a few times, before gradually descending until she landed near the cave mouth. Where she then hunkered down to allow her passengers to dismount, taking her mamono form as soon as they were off.
Maxon, all the while, was wasting no time. By the time Caelia had finished transforming, he had already marched up to the cave mouth.
“Oi! Missy! We’re back! And we brought the mayor as promised! Now let’s have that talk that you promised!” he called out into the cave.
"Whew!" Sinclair thought, very grateful Syn chimed in when she did. With their focus back more important matters, Sinclair could think of ways to solve their current predicament. Payge's hardening body seemed the most urgent, but unfortunately Sinclair did not want to risk any lewd happenings; so he decides to handle their living situation. Conjuring his clothes back on and stepping out from the shade, he relays his plan to the girls.
"If Syn and Reeva can keep Payge from drying out, i will go and find an adequate living space for us. And once we're sure Payge is fine, we can figure out our coin situation then." He explains. "What do you think?"
Maxine would sit at an empty table in the middle of the room, she sighed as she sat, and the bartender walked over to their table. Her eyes were still narrowed at Maxine as she asked, "What would you too like?" Maxine looked at her and smiled, "Two mugs of cold beer for us, please" she said, smiling cooly at her. The Black Harpy rolled her eyes and left to get their mugs of beer. Maxine relaxed back in her chair.
MEANWHILE...
"You know I have a name!" Zania called back from her cave. Soon, she slithered out and crossed her arms, eyeing all three of them. "Alright. Let's get this over with. So, what exactly is the problem?" she asked. "Firstly, you have stolen and devoured our town's livestock without consent. You injured multiple of my men, when they were only doing their job." Mayor Constantine replied. "Did you think that I wanted people to come and try to slay me?!" Zania responded in turn.
"Well, no. However, what are you supposed to do when a beast comes and slays multiple of your people's livestock. Cattle, pigs, goats, and sheep have all been taken by you and digested! Winter will be here in a few months and we need meat in order to make it through" Constantine said. "And I need to eat because I hibernate through winter" Zania replied, before giving a sigh. "So, how do we fix this situation?" she asked. Constantine smirked, "Simple, you need to leave." Almost immediately after he spoke those words, both of Zania's serpent tails hissed madly at him, with one spewing forth fire and his feet, purposely. "I'm sorry, I couldn't hear you. Could you say that, again?"
MEANWHILE...
Syn grabbed her chin in thought, "How would we keep her from drying out, Reeva?" she asked, looking up at the Undine. Reeva looked at Payge, who was fanning herself, "I could just use water to keep her hydrated. I do have plenty of it stored in my urn" she said, as a clay urn materialized beside her and poured water on Payge, cooling her. An 'ahh...' could be heard from Payge as the water washed over her body. Syn looked at Sinclair, "We'll handle Payge. You go find us somewhere to live" she said, going to sit down next to her.
Burden looked between Maxine and the bartender. "Do you two have a history? Or does she act like that with everyone?" Burden asked, noticing how the Black Harpy had narrowed her eyes at Maxine earlier and rolled her eyes at the Gandharva just now.
"We were together for a while, but she said I was too immature for her" Maxine said, chuckling to herself.
“Hey! Hey!” Maxon shouted, immediately stepping between the two. “I won’t be having any of that shit!” he added, gesturing to the burned patch of grass in front of the mayor. “I didn’t bring this man all the way out here so you can barbeque him! We’re here to talk, that’s it!”
He then turned to the mayor.
“And Mayor Constantine, this whole talk is about finding terms for her living here, not about her leaving.”
