Ascendare sighed, before leaving to go and finds an inn, and possibly a job board. Just in case she would need the money.
Vespiraa and Burden return to Henior, with Vespiraa helping Magatha get into the jar of honey.
There was an inn, and a job board right next to it. The 'Muddy Boot' and on the quest board, there were only two quests. The first told something about some Hill Giants coming to the town every so often, and taking the livestock. THe other quest was about some farmer needing help fending off some grey fox from stealing their chickens. Basic work.
Ascendare sighed and took the farmer's job. It seemed much simpler, and would probably be less dangerous. Ascendare would begin looking for the farmer who posted the quest.
(Ahh, so it’s a DnD monster, interesting.)
As the dragoon duo continued to run, Caelia would spot the incoming burning tree.
“Maxon! Watch out!” Caelia cried out in panic.
“Wha-?” Was all he could utter, as he didn’t even have time to look before Caelia tackled him out of the way; just a mere moment before they were both crushed.
The two would roll a good dozen feet across the ground, before coming to a halt as a tangled mess of armor and scales; with Caelia on top, and Maxon’s face pressed firmly between her breasts.
“Maxon! Are you okay?!” She asked, looking down at him.
“Mmmph! Mmmph!” Was all he could mutter as he rapidly tapped her side with a gauntleted hand, gesturing for her to get off.
She did so immediately, thus allowing him to breathe once more.
“Gah! I’m alright, and thanks for the save.” He replied, nodding gratefully to his partner, before turning back to the burning tree. “But what the hell?! Did that thing block your fire?”
His question was answered the moment they spotted it chasing after them; completely untouched.
“It would appear so….” Caelia said, going pale once more.
“Feck! Run!” Maxon shouted.
The duo would then get up and sprint away as fast as their legs would carry them.
"N-No, I'm fine." James said with a slight studder.
The farmer was on the other side of town, watching his sheep and cows.
Ascendare would approach the farmer. "Hello, I'm here to deal with your fox problem."
"Oh! Dang fox keeps getting in through the chicken fence, there some broken piece it keeps slipping through. There it is now!" he said, pointing at a skinny grey fox bounding at a chicken, grabbing it in its jaws, and headed right back through the fence.
(Could I get a reply too?)
(May I also get one as well?)
