“Heh, alright then” Maxon replied, drawing his sword.
As he approached Elaine’s armor, Caelia almost couldn’t bear to watch; as she hid her face behind her wings, but still peeked out with one eye.
“Okay, I’m going to strike with the same combo……Here goes!”
And with that, he proceeded to strike the armor’s breastplate as hard as could; delivering the same four slashes, before pulling back and thrusting his blade’s tip right into the center of the armor.
"Other than bandits and wild beasts in the fields and plains. I'm not sure" Vanitia replied, as she headed directly for the village's inn. "All I know is that I don't like traveling at night. So, let us depart to the inn for the night. I'll pay" she added, as she disguised herself into her alter-ego; Giselle.
MEANWHILE...
Elaine's armor managed to hold its own against Maxon's strikes, except the stab, which created a crack where the sword struck. Elaine walked over and examined her armor. "It seems like the mix of herbs and mushrooms added resistance to flame at the expense of physical durability. Compared to your breastplate, my armor's less than average, but still useful. However, I do have plenty of other armor sets and useful little trinkets and accessories." she said, gesturing to the other armor sets, and referring to the items at the front counter.
MEANWHILE...
The Sylph smiled, as she reached out to Sinclair, causing winds to lift him onto his feet. "There. That's better. By the way, my name's Esme. What yours?" she asked.
"Sinclair." he said smiling. Realizing the sylph, Esme, is rather powerful he unknowingly behaves submissively in respect to her power.
"Say...Esme was it? If its not too much trouble, do you mind helping me out with something?"
"Sure. What is it?" Esme asked.
"Awww, thanks." Ascendare would say, smiling. "Though do you actually have money on you to pay with?"
"I seem to have gotten myself rather lost, would it be possible for you to guide me out of the valley?" he said very formally.
“Hmm, thanks for the offer, but I think I will keep my current set” Maxon said, as he went about retrieving and re-donning his breastplate.
“Are you sure, Maxon?” Caelia asked, clearly disheartened by his decision.
“I am. Enchantments are nice, but good steel must always come first. And while my armor isn’t as pristine as it used to be; it has protected me from injury and death more times than I can count” he replied, before turning back to Elaine. “I hope you understand.”
"Aww, but we just met. Why'd you wanna leave so early?" Esme said, giving Sinclair puppy-dog eyes.
MEANWHILE...
Elaine looked at Maxon confidently, "Of course I understand! It's just business. However, I can't just let you leave without repaying in some way for returning me my beloved mace. How about I sharpen all of your weapons for you?" she offered.
MEANWHILE...
"Not when I'm traveling, dear!" "Giselle" would shout back at Ascendare as she continued walking.
