I nod solemnly towards the fairy, giving her the bag of seeds and quietly push her out of my arms. Of course, she and I have known each other for long while, I've protected her, and cared for her... so in-turn, she cares for me. A weakness... that can be exploited, she doesn't want to let me go.
The giggling of more sesunal fairies draws near and I look back and yell, "alright! Can you give us a moment?! Jeez..." I turn back to the fairy princess with a serious look, "that world's not meant for me Kathe, it's meant for you, I know it's not what you wanted to hear, but we don't have the time to plan shenangians to somehow get me through the tree." Shaking my head, I place her down and she stops fighting it... though there are tears watering up in her eyes.
I glance behind me... it seems like the mamono have the decency to let this play out... I'll give 'em points for that, turning back. "Look, I like you, maybe even love you platonically, but... that is a weakness that can be expolited in this very moment. So, I need you, to forget me, forget me if you want to live as how your mother envisioned it, how you wanted it." Kathe nods, more tears in her eyes and she takes a couple steps back,
"Go! Go, run! I'll hold them off." With that I take a stand and brush my hands through my Spirit Energy, calling upon a massive wall of magic that surrounds Kathe and the tree, but leaves me out in the open. I nod towards the lilim with a faint smile, "polite, I like that... let's get this over with."
Just me, my sword, and my magic... I'll give myself credit, she escaped, sure...
But I didn't stand a fucking chance.
There was a lot of fucking as well.
Unfortunately, as I stare at the Titania nuzzling my cheek, a certain princess from a long time ago, had visited, apparently... what she wanted of herself and what the mother wanted of her didn't exactly line-up. Either that or Durella cast some last-minute charms centered on me to make her fall in love with me so she would always want to come back to visit me...
But hey... from what she's saying, there are still uncorrupted fairies out in the world now, protected by the tree immune to the most blasted of their magic... so that's good I guess. Whatever the case, I hug Kathe and she hugs me back... things are nice.
