The meat was fresh so... That was nice. "Nope only got one." He said as he searched around inside and came out with a blanket. "I'm not planning on sleeping tonight, though."
“What do you mean? Surely you don’t plan on staying awake through the whole night.” Of course he knew someone should keep watch, especially in a place like this, but he couldn’t help but at least question the man.
"Well, someone has to stay up and keep the fire lit. It'll help scare off any predators but at the same time someone needs to watch it to make sure no stray embers fly off and start a forest fire. Your definitely in no condition to do so either." Mek replied back as he handed him a blanket.
“I can’t exactly disagree with anything you said. Though... What kind of predators are you referring to?” Whiskey asked, wondering if true predators roamed the jungle or if there it was filled with the vile beasts that reek of sex.
"Let me think... Jaguars, boa constrictors, anacondas to name a few that concern me a teeny weeny bit."
This time, Rykerin neglected to prepare for the reactive blast and was forced backward, staggering and blinking frantically. "Arrrgghhh," he shouted panic surging through him. He raised his free hand and rubbed it across his face, as if his face was covered in oil. His sword was held up wardingly but also weak.
“I hate jungles.” Whiskey announces while bracing himself to stand. ”Nnngh-ah!” With a strained groan, the soldier managed to bring himself onto his feet. He was a little wobbly, but quickly regained his balance. “Perhaps the demons haven’t found their way here yet.”
"Eh...?" Mek said as he watched the man stand up. "Um... Yeah. You OK?"
(I thought Markus was the incarnation of Mek?
“Never felt better.” Whiskey explained before letting out a brief chuckle. Humour always helped alleviate some of the pain. “You looked a little confused? Was it something I said?”
What do you think?
