Borca is a land of vibrant people with a wide variety of plant and animal life. With that vibrancy though is some danger. Almost every plant and animal in Borca has a medicinal application. Although there is plenty of it that is poisonous, it is also in turn used for many medicines and other products which helps makes Borcans money.
Dark Lady: Ivana Boristi, Lady of Borca
The People: The people in Borca are known mainly for one thing: scandals. They are a vibrant people who love life and do not often let little details get in their way. The aristocracy is especially looked at for their numerous scandals. Affairs, debauchery, and just about any form of that sort of scandal imaginable the Borcan aristocracy has committed.
Religion: The Church of Ezra was founded in Borca, since it is supposedly the land where Ezra first appeared and rallied to protect the people from monster attacks. As such, it is one of the strongest territories which the church holds and where mamono have to be especially careful lest they incur it’s wrath.
Stance vs Mamono: Sadly for the married mamono who wish to parade with their husbands and take part in the unspoken scandalous community, the people are very much in the sway of the Church of Ezra. The church takes great pains to protect the believers, although mamono living among the aristocracy have some measure of protection since the church disassociates itself from them unless a member is a public follower of the faith. Any mamono found is swiftly put to death.
Iconic Mamono: The Emordenung have quite the foothold in Borca, able to pass as humans almost effortlessly, it is their actions which keep the scandals rolling. They have made a buffer institution for themselves among the aristocracy, able to protect themselves from the inquisitions of the church. They use their skills to keep the good and decadent times rolling, luring in more husbands and women to transform all under the church’s noses. Although they are small compared to the reach and grip of the church, they are rooted in the bedrock of Borcan society.
Unique Export: With all the creatures and plants found in Borca, it has made an excellent trade empire dealing in raw medicines, poisons, and similar ingredients for a variety of different products. Several such substances can only be found in Borca, making it integral to the fields of medicine, farming, and other places where such things are needed.
Native Mamono: Emordenung, Matango, Slimes, Mucus Toads, Vistani
Name: Emordenung
Family: Majin
Habitat: Borca
Diet: Omnivorous
Many who know of such things often call the Emordenung the Land of Mists’ equivalent to the Kunoichi of Zipangu. This is not an unfair assumption to make as often Ivana Boristi, Dark Lady of Borca often uses their abilities and skills in such a way. Emordenung in fact are almost indistinguishable from an ordinary human woman save for their beauty and the fact their lips and nails are always a sensuous shade of red.
Emordenung always live within human settlements. Thanks to their beauty and natural charisma, these mamono are always active on the social scene. They are courted by many hoping for a beautiful woman on their arms. They are known for stealing the spotlight at any party they are part of encouraging wild times. With enough time, they can turn the parties, no matter how uptight, into scenes of lustful times and even debauched orgies with the right touch.
How the Emordenung are able to do such a thing is their ability to generate potent aphrodisiacs with just a touch. They generate the substance in a thin layer across their skin, unable to be noticed. It is tasteless and odorless, unable to be detected save for magical means. Emordenung often use this to coat utensils or spike drinks in order to bring about lustful desires. With enough of a dose, targets can lose all inhibitions, pushing a target of their true love down and ravishing them. This is always mutual between participants as the Emordenung poison has spread to everyone by that point.
Emordenung live for debauchery and hedonistic delights. They swap partners regularly, wishing to experience as many as possible so they might find their perfect husbands. Often these individuals are those who, when poisoned by an Emordenung, target the mamono herself for ravishing. This is a time that an Emordenung lives for as more than debauchery, the Emordenung desire love over anything else. After meeting such a man, they continue going to decadent parties, but they always wish to share with their husbands and make every attempt to lure more women into their husband’s embrace so they may enjoy all the fruits of debauchery an Emordenung can offer.
In society, Emordenung work as an organization of assassins and secret agents for Ivana Boristi. They use social networking among members of the aristocracy not already married to a Mamono to spy on who might be dealing with the church. Others branch out from Borca, looking for less crowded ‘hunting grounds’ so they might have more plentiful experiences. Most of these are on Ivana Boristi’s orders, but some are independant and strike out on their own.
Ivana Boristi - Dark Lady of Borca
Ivana Boristi is a rarity among the Dark Ladies of the Land of Mists. Unlike many of the other Dark Ladies who came into their power, Ivana is perhaps one of the few second generation Dark Ladies who took control of their lands. Ivana is the daughter of the first Darklord of Borca, Camille Dillisnya.
Camille began the dynasty while still living with her family in Mordent. She was a promiscuous woman who enjoyed the raunchier perks of aristocracy. Although her parents insisted on chastity, Camille discarded those concerns and continued a life of promiscuity and debauchery behind the closed doors proper mordentish society refused to see open.
Her parents finally had enough and forced her to get married to a man named Siegfried. Camille at first was elated, thinking she could be as raunchy as she wanted with a man any time she wished. That quickly turned to disappointment as Siegfried was a pious man dedicated to Ezra and her ideals of chastity and abstinence.
It may not have bothered her as much, but Siegfried was well aware of his wife’s tastes and kept her confined to their estate and unable to vent her frustrations and experience her pleasures. It served to make Camille bitter and resentful. She may have remained as such before she discovered her husband having an affair with another woman.
Enraged at the utter hypocrisy of her husband, Camille decided that if he wanted the other woman so badly, he could have her forever. She found materials and concocted a demonic energy-based aphrodisiac and poisoned both her husband and his mistress. The effect had them dropping into a frantic ravishing of one another, unable to stop copulating even when servants discovered them and called for help.
With the utter destruction of her husband’s reputation, Camille was granted a divorce and watched the flaming wreck of Siegfried’s good name. His family correctly guessed she was responsible, although there was no proof. Fearing retribution, Camille’s family sent her to relatives in Invidia. Instead, the mists swallowed Camille before sending her to the new domain of Borca with her as the new ruler.
Camille ruled as she saw fit, hosting decadent parties and more, amassing three husbands in political marriages during her time. None of them could keep up with her, losing themselves with other women in the throes of her potent Emordenung poison. Still, Camille was not left without her own joys as she gave birth to several daughters, including her eldest, Ivana Boristi.
Ivana grew up almost as her mother’s double, just as beautiful and decadent as her mother. Perhaps it would have remained this way, had Ivana not met Pieter.
Pieter had gotten an invitation to one of the Boristi parties by chance. He met Ivana as she was enjoying the first party as her debut. Her first time using her poison, Ivana was ravished by Pieter, falling deeply in love with one another. It was the talk of the party, the scandal of a nobody being caught in the bed of Lady Boristi’s daughter. The news soon spread far and wide, especially after Ivana and Pieter were seen everywhere together.
Camille stewed with jealousy over this event. Despite her every attempt, Camille could not find her own destined husband no matter how many men she used her poison on. Then Ivana, on her first try even, managed to find her perfect man without even trying?! It infuriated her to no end.
Deciding that Ivana needed a lesson in dealing with disappointment, and perhaps wishing to try Pieter for herself, Camille hatched a plan. Since she and Ivana looked so alike, Camille disguised herself as her daughter and used her poison on him. Believing Camille to be his beloved, Pieter ravished her thoroughly and Camille lapped up every moment of it, thinking she found her proper husband first before her daughter.
After the event, with Pieter none the wiser, Camille told Ivana what happened, proclaiming that Pieter had succumbed to her poison and thoroughly ravished Camille instead of searching for Ivana. Needless to say, Ivana was furious and heartbroken that her beloved ravished another woman instead of her in a burst of passion brought by the poison.
Unbeknownst to Camille, this act of treachery and bitterness cost her the power and position as the Dark Lady of Borca. Now only a new one needed to be crowned and her time would end.
Ivana decided to punish her mother and her beloved for their actions. With her talent in concocting poison, Ivana made her most potent poison to date. She poisoned Pieter and watched him writhe, tied to their bed as he begged to make love to her. Ivana was cold to his pleas until he asked why she was so cold when passionate the last time they coupled. Ivana soon came to the realization that Pieter thought he was ravishing Ivana during his previous episode, not her mother.
Camille soon felt the wrath of her daughter...after the three days Ivana took to please her beloved turned husband in every way as an apology to tormenting him and thinking the worst. Camille would not feel such relief. Poisoned by her daughter, Camille became a horny mess, unable to speak, much less think about anything but getting a man’s penis. Ivana denied her, locking her in a tower of their estate, leaving Camille to suffer the crushing loneliness and endless arousal.
This was Camille’s punishment for breaking the ideals of the Dark Powers and crowning Ivana Boristi as the new Dark Lady.
In the Mists…
Ivana soon took control of Borca, replacing her mother in court and in her social life. Her hand at governing was a little more direct but still easygoing and her parties were truly the stuff of legend. Her scandals were on the tongues of all of Borca’s gossipers concerning the trysts she and Pieter would have with others during their parties and whenever the mood took them.
Truly, Ivana has replaced her mother in every way, leaving the former Dark Lady to be forgotten.
Current Sketch
Ivana, despite what the church insists and her parties suggest, is working hard to ensure Borca’s economy remains strong and money flows back down to the people. When she organizes her parties, she ensures money goes to many industries and she strongly encourages aristocrats in her faction to do the same. The influx of coin then flows to the workers who can then pay for their homes and families to live in comfort.
Ivana works hard to oppose the Church of Ezra and their attempts to strangle Borca’s rulership away from her. Their attempts include preaching scorn towards Ivana’s lifestyle and those who are a part of her faction, inciting discontent. Their most insidious plan is the church demanding donations from the people, the larger the better, and trying to influence the Borcan economy towards depression and blame it on Ivana’s parties and lifestyle. An act which is more effective as aristocrats, merchants, and other people of influence who are followers of the church aid their attempts.
To counteract the church’s schemes, Ivana employs her fellow Emordenung to infiltrate and target gatherings for enemy aristocrats or other people of Borca. It is a shadow war to try and neutralize the church’s influence before the church incites rebellion thanks to their underhanded efforts.
Ivana and Pieter are deeply in love, but both enjoy the chance to indulge during their parties. They are active swingers, although they only engage in flings with others they both are attracted to. Most women end up becoming Emordenung or men become incubi. This is a careful process that cannot transform multiple people at once lest the church find out and turns the shadow war into a physical one within Borca’s borders.
Appearance: Ivana is a woman in her twenties with olive skin with long tumbling black hair and blue eyes. Her lips and nails are a sensuous shade of red, all but inviting someone to touch or kiss her. Her figure is one of envy among the population and she shows off plenty of it, loving to show off her body in public with low-cut bodices and slit skirts. She can play the role of ruler well but prefers to leave that to when she is in her official duties.
Dark Gift: Ivana’s Dark Gift comes two-fold. Since her greatest desire is love and companionship, her power is to create aphrodisiac poisons greater than anything any other Emordenung could produce, able to create love and closeness with everyone around her. The other aspect of her gift is to retain her beauty no matter how much time has passed, making her ravishingly lovely and sensual no matter how long she rules.
