If you are immortal you have to watch everything you know and love die
If you are immortal you have to watch everything you know and love die
Well, I have bad news for the OP: Even if you aren't immortal you have to watch everything you know and love die... unless you die first...
If you are lucky, none of your children will die before you, but if you live a long life you will probably see parents, grandparents, siblings, spouse, friends... etc., die...
So being immortal wouldn't be so different from living a regular life if you don't have children...
I am aware but if you are immortal you will also have to watch the universe die and all of the stars and you will be trapped in your own personal hell alone in your thoughts going insane alone in darkness
That goes a bit beyond immortality...
Greetings All,
Not if you're Immortal in the truest sense you could outlast everything and everyone.

My brain has committed suicide
@The Weary Time Lord,
It's just not about not dying... you would also need to be impervious to all damage and able to function without food, water, air and at absolute zero temperature...
First, you would need to survive after Earth loses it atmosphere, all water evaporates and all life dies, plus lethal levels of radiation bathe the planet...
Then, you would need to survive when the Sun enters its red giant stage and swallows Earth.
Afterwards you would need to survive the Sun ejecting its external layer at a high percentage of the speed of light...
Then, surviving being frozen at zero absolute temperature and no air or sustenance...
Afterwards all stars become black holes, absorb all matter, including you...
Over time all black holes degrade and disappear, but all elements have become iron...
If you remain able to live and think through all of that you must be some kind of exotic matter construct that doesn't follow any of the rules of physics, and you were never human to begin with...
I have sparked a discussion
