Every one of you is wrong. The question that was initially posed was wrong, the assumptions you've made are wrong, the way you think 'sjws' behave is wrong.
Speaking in an order that makes the most sense.
SJW. Social Justice Warrior. Someone who cares too much about social justice, or goes beyond what is reasonable in acting on related concerns. I think that’s a pretty clear definition to work with. Nobody calls themselves that, because it’s so broad a definition that it can be applied to anyone, for any standard the speaker sees fit. Here’s a rhetorical question. Does everyone think they have the same opinion on what makes someone an sjw? And less important but also of interest to me, has anyone spoken to a person that they considered an sjw?
“Japan doesn’t care about those silly western ideals”. This is a point that is often raised as a rallying cry against anyone trying to take issue with something made in japan, on the basis that western and japanese ideals are completely incompatible. This is just inaccurate. While there are many ways in which the two cultures are different, and in which I cannot claim to know in detail, there are many things which some might think are only SJW concerns, that are also seen as issues in Japan. There is a feminist movement. There are people who are concerned about sexual assault and similar treatment of women. There are gay and trans people, who use different language but which still represent a community of people who are considered different from the mainstream. They deal with prejudice as a result, and are working to end it. Racism exists in Japan, and I am very certain there are people who are concerned about it.
But back to sjws. Who do you think these people are? Do you think they don’t Like Things? They love things. They like anime, and they talk about anime, the positives and the negatives, but it often happens within their spaces, because the majority of the people that you speak of are rational adults who are capable of picking battles, and deciding what is worth using energy for. There are absolutely people in that large and difficult to define group who like monster girls. As a concept. But they also like these monster girls. I have seen people making art of these specific monster girls, and they were people that you might consider as sjws. You know what they did? They probably went “oh sexy monster girl” then drew some stuff, posted it and went on their merry way, entirely unconcerned by anything else about the site.
Despite what you might believe, sjws don’t generally try to get things taken down. It’s about bringing something to people’s attention. That’s why people typically talk about why a piece of media needs to be looked at more critically (like any number of anime). It is no more accurate to say that all of the anime community, or the entire population of Japan, makes fun of them, than it is to say that all sjws hate anime. I understand the claim was meant metaphorically.
People aren’t looking to get media taken down. They’re looking for people to stop paying attention to it. While it is pretty easy to write a criticism of the mge, it’s pretty harmless as a piece of media. It also doesn’t really have much attention. There aren’t people talking about it on youtube or social media, and people around here are generally mature and thoughtful, and presumably not making too much noise outside the website. There is no reason to believe that the mge will be taken down, because it doesn’t represent any kind of problem to people, and there’s no reason to fear it being taken down because that’s not the kind of thing people think about.
I mean, the FANDOM conglomerate, whatever it is, owns this wiki. I know it via the yugioh wiki, and there’s probably only a zillion other wikis it owns. We can talk about the effects the entity had on owning this site, but the positives are that there’s a really big thing that has ownership of the wiki, and that means it's going to take a lot to even try to contact them. Here’s another rhetorical question, do you even know what it would take to contact someone from FANDOM? I sure don’t. How many people do you think it would take for FANDOM to make a decision on mge? 1000? 10,000? 1 million? And sure, I have for a while been amused at the thought that FANDOM owns all these wikis for different shows and oh yeah, also this pornographic encyclopedia, but whatever went around at FANDOM headquarters, the people decided that this wiki was perfectly fine. We do have stricter standards on sexual content, but the wiki itself is safe.
But, and this is important, if the wiki ever did get taken down, totally snapped out of existence, I need everyone to understand that it would be because the people at FANDOM made the decision in response to a large scale, sustained period of discussion, and if they took the site down, it would be purely to save their own image. It would take potentially millions of people talking about it for weeks, demanding that FANDOM do something and they would only do so to protect their image. Corporations don’t make decisions based on morals, no matter how much it looks like they are. The choice by FANDOM to remove the site would be purely to protect their own image, and even then they might not remove the encyclopedia. They might crack down on forums, but they might still keep the pages themselves up. To be clear, I would never want any kind of restriction to be made on the wiki, but I’m telling you if it did it might not be so drastic, or even permanent, and it will never happen because it it would require too many people to be talking about the site, and that would never happen because you overestimate and misunderstand people and what they devote their time to.
People join this site because they like the concept and then if they really like it they make an account, and that happens partially because people like the community and they want to be a part of it. I feel like I’ve seen this conversation before, and it just feels like fearmongering. It’s not a realistic thing to be afraid of. People aren’t going to try to get this wiki taken down because it’s not important to them or the things they care about. It’s not a realistic thing to do. I made a comment on the thread asking about what the old days of the site were like, and I commented that besides the one person who’s been making an ass of themselves, there aren’t people joining the site just to crap on it because that’s not a thing most people want to do. Instead of worrying needlessly about evil people spoiling our fun, we can continue to make it a site where people like talking about monster girls.
I realized this is pretty damn long, because a lot of the claims that were made here were lacking in the necessary nuance. But the most important thing for me in what I said, is that the people you deem as sjws are a majority of adults, who are rational, diverse people who are capable of deciding what is important to expend energy on. They're not coming for the wiki, and they're not going to get the wiki removed, because it's not a reasonable goal, nor is it how people behave. And I really do think some of you might not know, but 'sjws' have already found the site. They liked it, made or looked at some fanart, probably while ignoring the comments and forums, and moved on with their day
