Ritta fell silent with Isaac's reply. She didn't expect his poetic musing, but Ani smiled at what she heard and turned to her other two companions. "Well, we got the flowers. Now all we need is to be in our best behaviour and meet our quarry. Oh, Isaac, you gotta know this, Sayle is no ordinary Dryad."
"She was born under a special tree, after all," said Ritta. With Ani leading the way, the three went at the back of the procession, eventually reaching the monument where countless candles and their offering of multi-colored flowers were placed.
There was a figure sitting in the midst of the candle and bouquet sprawl. One who pressed her hands on the bottom of the monument, where a name plate shone in the candle glow - bearing the words RAYLEIGH ROBIN SOFORTH.
"..."
Sayle turned her head and spotted the trio. With a finger, she wiped off a tear glistening below one of her eyes - though it wasn't enough to hide the fact she had been crying for a while now.
"I didn't expect to see the Head Tin Woodsman and her cousin here. And... Isaac Kifer, friend of the King. "
Ani brought up her own bouquet for Sayle to see. "We got something for Rayleigh. Although it's a single color compared to all the other flowers he's got.. "
Sayle shook her head. "That's alright. He....liked roses. They remind him of that one time he tried to get me roses...and he ended up face-planting on a rose bush. He is such a wreck, that woodcutter husband of mine..." She took Ani's flowers and placed them at the very bottom of the monument. "He deserves to see a single patch of red in all this rainbow for him."
