(There will be combat in this, right? ^^’)
Annyss slithered off of the wagon and examined the area. “We’re making camp here?” She was next to Merlin, with Ambrose sitting on top of her floating spellbook. “..But, I don’t have my own sleeping bag” she said under her breath, as she went to find Burden and tell him.
The conversation did end in an awkward note, and for a few minutes there was an awkward silence in the air. Luckily, Annyss’ stomach growled. She blushed with slight embarrassment, hoping nobody heard that. “ֆɨʟɛռƈɛ.” She said under her breath, instantly quieting her stomach noises.
Annyss would soon after sigh, as she pulled out a few strips of dried meat. Ambrose eagerly looked back at her, expecting a treat. Of course she fed her little manasucker~! After feeding Ambrose and herself, she would look back at her spellbook, now actually studying its pages.
Annyss didn’t give him an answer, instead she turned back to her spellbook, flipping through its pages slowly. Ambrose looked at Merlin, facing him like a statue. He didn’t move or look away from him, just blinked and “silently judged” him.
Annyss sat in thought for a moment, thinking of a reasonably good answer. ”Well, I did enchant it so that I could see through it. I can see you and everything perfectly fine, but you can’t see my eyes” she replied.
Annyss stayed silent for a moment. “.....Sure” she said, readying herself for Merlin’s question.
“..Sure” Annyss said, as she took the green paper from Merlin and studied his drawing of Ambrose. Speaking of, Annyss brought Ambrose to view the picture. “What do you think, Ambrose?”
The grey manalizard only glanced at Merlin’s picture before hissing at it with praise. “He likes it~” Annyss said, handing Merlin’s drawing back to him, and setting Ambrose back in her lap.
Annyss looked at Merlin, before picking up and holding her lizard out towards him, so that he could get a better look at him. “His name is Ambrose, by the way” she said, while Ambrose lazily rested in the palm of Annyss’ hand.
Annyss looked to Merlin, “..It’s a grey manalizard. They mainly live in cave systems, blending in with the stone while they hunt insects and smaller creatures” she replied, as her lizard turned to Merlin as well and gave a hiss of greeting.
Annyss looked down at her drawings of Merlin and Burden, before closing her book. ¨...Just some drawings¨ she say, as she turned to another page and began to practice a few minor spells. ¨ᏕᏬᎷᎷᎧᏁ; ᎦᏗᎷᎥᏝᎥᏗᏒ¨ she said, as a small portal opened. Stepping through, was a grey lizard, with frills along its cheeks. It hissed at Annyss a it climbed onto her lap.
¨I see¨ Annyss said, returning to her sketches for the most part. ¨...Merlin. How much do you charge for you services?¨ she asked, not looking up from her spellbook, which had two well-drawn illustrations of Merlin and Burden inside of it.
Annyss had managed to draw only Merlin & Burden’s faces, just now getting to their necks.
”.....So, what is a white lizardman doing with so many wagons?” Annyss asked, curious. “...Are you a merchant?” Annyss continued asking questions, as she looked around for a hint as to what these wagons were transporting. “..I don’t mean to pry. I’m just curious” she finished, settling down to listen to Burden.
(I’m assuming that they have a wagon, right?)
Annyss had climbed aboard Burden’s wagon and found a suitable spot inside to get comfortable. “...Merlin, will you be walking beside us or riding on the wagon with us?” Annyss asked, as she began to write in her spellbook.
’Marque 23rd.
I continued on with my journey through the Emberlight Depths. It really is quite beautiful down here, many of different crystals and gemstones (some of which, I’ve collected) all of different hues and properties. After running low on my supplies, I wounded up staying in a village for a while. Working whatever few jobs I could find to scrape up coins. But, I did find someone who’d take me where I needed to go. A white lizardman who’s accompanied by a mercenary, or ‘guard’ as he puts it. I’m not sure what to expect on this journey, besides what I was told. Smooth sailing from here, Annyss’ she finished writing, as she began to sketch out illustrations of both Merlin and Burden under the small passage of text she had just wrote.
Annyss focused on her drawings, paying little attention to Burden and Merlin.
Annyss hesitated at shaking hands with Merlin, looking him over one more time. “.... I am Annyss,” she introduced herself, shaking Merlin’s hand.
”..As for your payment,” Annyss started, pulling out twenty silver coins with a lavender essence coating them. The coins flew right into Burden’s own coin pouch, “you’re welcome,” she finished, a sweet smile appearing on her face.
Annyss thought to herself for a moment before answering, “...I only have silver and a bit of gold.” Annyss reached for her coin purse to pay Burden.
Annyss looked at Merlin, ‘Is he a mercenary for hire? ...I wonder how much he’s costing this man’ she thought to herself. “...Are you a mercenary?” Annyss asked, instantly regretting her question.
Annyss pulled out her own map. It was immaculately detailed, but only had one path drawn in it, leading to Nixstorm. “... I assume that the journey there should be smooth and easy” she said, handing her map to Burden.
Unbeknownst to Burden and Merlin, a librarian was heading towards them, before she paused for a second. She held a frozen position, as if she were now a statue. Inside of her head, she debated with herself. ´Should I ask them? ...Probably would be rude to go right up to them and just ask for directions, right? Then again, it might be rude of me to keep staring at them, and I am lost.´ She concluded in her head, as she slithered up to Burden and stared at him for a moment. ¨...H-hello. I was wondering if maybe... you´d be willing to, umm... e-escort me through the depths... please?¨ she said. She pronounced every word with a calm voice, but still, she broke u her words as if she were a shy schoolgirl.
Annyss´ eyes looked away from Burden, but she still looked as if she were staring directly at him.
(I think if I were to join back in, I have to change my character.)
Salutations, and welcome! I'm Lovelace. :)
"I see. Thank you" Gunnhild thanked, as she went off to find the inn. 'Hopefully, I can get some coin from them' she thought as she walked.
