Kki-chan: I'm afraid I don't have the time for an escapade today Sir BTR. The windows need to be washed, a dinner plan needs to be made for tonight, the living room furniture has to be rearranged for the new additions of...relics...the clothes need to be tended to, the silverware polished, the hot spring needs more water, a hole in the wall needs to be patched because Helly punched it, I have to make a check list for Isaac so he can double check my work, and the deck needs to be swept again. It's still a light day of work, but it will require my full attention. Watching the others is a full time job. My apologies for the inconvenience.
BT: To expand on your ideas for the Archaic, everything is still up in the air. All I will tell you is that things will come to blows in the future which shouldn’t be surprising. But it’s going to be a royal rumble between The Archaic, The Covenant and Marcus.
@BTR And on that note, it's time for Kiki-chan's Maid Advice Corner!
Kiki-chan: Remember all you maids in training, a good maid must remember these three cornerstone rules! Rule one, a maid must always be vigilant for anything amiss in her masters house. Dirt, dust, broken glass or invading Shogoths must be promptly and swiftly removed from the home to maintain its purity. Rule two, a maid must always maintain a proper facade of maturity and grace at all times, when faced with house guests, rowdy housemates or Orderites that don't know when to leave because they aren't welcome in your home because of how they've been trying to hunt down your beloved husband...*Ahem* Yes, anyway...Rule three, a maid must always put the needs of her master before her own. The wants and needs of the master's family or extend guests come second, and the needs of the maid come third. The wants or needs of anyone else not related to the maids master must be thoughtfully considered and reasonable before acting upon. Remember girls, a maid is only a maid when she has a master! Stay safe and don't miss any spots!~
Hound: I have no current intentions in intervening in any conflicts as that would require me to fight and chose a side. I'm just saying that if you don't plan on utterly wiping them from the world I may have plans for any scraps you give me.
I like them... Somewhat, in the case of the devil bug. I feel like hating a mamono based on the source material is an extremely petty thing, like hating the Orc because of Orcs in LoTR, or hating Medusa cause in the source material she is horribly ugly.
Yeah I get ya, Tikkit. Tbh, I only ever had mixed feelings for Beelzebubs, Devil Bugs and now Vamp Musquitos due to their insectile hands (which always bugged me, no pun intended). Of course they aren't really as 'filthy' or 'dirty' as the profiles say (though Vamp Musquitos walking around with 'pouches' of your blood on them has to be awkward no matter how you look at it).
Though, the bigger problem would be that many Mamonos don't really care to adapt to human societal norms, which is the main cause for making them look bad (in reference to something I read on the Kikimora page comments).
Maid Devil Bugs wouldn't be such a bad idea (since they could squeeze almost anywhere), but they have to adapt to the norms and conduct of maid work. Which mean... mandatory hygene classes with Cancers.
Tikkit: Is it petty though? They're not real people? I have things I like and I've read pretty much all of the entries except for the new ones if there are any. But it's an anime character. I can like them or dislike them based on appearance. In the immortal words of some guys on the internet "Calm down sir it's just a drawing."
I by no means meant to shame you, and I'm sorry if I came across as trying to do so. I just think that if you're going to hate a mamono, there should be more of a reason. But if you feel differently, that's fine too.
Oh I don't hate them I just don't like certain designs or character traits. The only ones I really hate are the parasites, lolis, and the undead. I'm not one to throw out the hate easily but those three groups truly make me shudder.
Sorry about earlier but I was just pulling your chain.
It's good that no harm was done. I hate the idea of kink shaming and similar stuff, and I'd hate to unintentionally make someone feel bad over something as pointless as reasons why they dislike monster girls.
Ehh, depends what the profile defines as 'filth' (perhaps it doesn't really mean straight up grime or gunk or anything that would be a turn-off, really).
Besides, who's to say there can't be exceptions ? Their uncanny ability to crawl or squeeze almost anywhere, coupled with a clean education or upbringing under a Kikimora or a Cancer, might make Devil Bugs excenlent maids (it's been rumored that some species of roaches prefer cleaner environments).
So here’s my thoughts. I love the movie Blade Runner and the Dirty Harry series. I’ve always wanted to make a detective type character. So I decided to make one within the MGE setting.
He’s a “hunter” of sorts within a particular branch of the Order. A branch that specializes in tracking down Incubi and other Mamono that can disguise themselves as humans and infiltrate Order controlled areas. Trying to corrupt the areas from the inside out. This particular character is given a lead, and he follows it. If he accumulated enough evidence he calls in the inquisition flunkies and has the Incubi/Mamono hauled off. Or, he deals with them immediately.
Sounds neat; Dirty Harry and Blade were pretty awesome movies.
Does he interogate suspects ? Is he good with deductive reasoning (a la Sherlock Holmes/Hercule Poirot) ? And just like in Blade Runner, is it ambiguous whether he's an Incub himself or not, despite still firmly believing in the CG ?
He definitely interrogates apprehended suspects and uses deduction to assess others. He won’t be a mindless Order drone or zealot. He’s a person legitimately interested in protecting people, but he fights for the wrong side (depending on your point of view).
He’s not an Incubus (and I denounce the Blade Runner theory that Deckard is a Replicant). But will be ambiguous is the character’s feelings on putting down Mamono and Incubi.
He does. Though he isn’t used for subterfuge or major operations related to military doings. He’s not a powerhouse character who can fight his way out of most battles. If he’s undercover, it’s for strictly information gathering.
He can fight. He’s an adept hand to hand combatant and better with a gun. He’s more resourceful than powerful. He has some Magic’s too that allow him options in a fight but again, his main skill is resourcefulness.
Lance: Mainly coincidence but the point is still there. I’d like to mention my inspiration of the combo was from an idea dropped during the Pramool RP, where a character used a customized rifle that shot different types of rounds out of it, some of them magic based.
I’ll get more into it upon character intro, but he uses a prototype wheel gun specifically made for his group of enforcers. The gun is tailored to shoot multiple bullet types with various effects. Some meant to drop Mamono or Incubi on contact.
Lance: Your character did well in the fight. By the way I recommend you delete that pic. I know that it's censored but Wikia staff has deleted stuff like that before and some people received suspensions.
As I said, he isn’t going to be a zealot character. He’s a legitimate guy who wants to protect people. He sees unchecked Mamono growth and Human settlement corruption by the Radical Faction as an issue. His primary objective is to hunt down Incubi and other Mamono who infiltrate Order areas using disguises or appearance altering magic.
His actual feelings toward Mamono I’ll keep a mystery for now, but his work says more than enough for you all to have an idea.
That’s an interesting thought and admirable goal. But all organizations rely on politics.
My new character is (coincidentally) a dog of the Order. Inquisitors uproot rebellions. Soldiers claim ground. The Archaic decimate armies. The Seekers find the enemy within.
“Seekers” isn’t my final name for my new character’s branch. But it will suffice for now.
They weed out the Mamono and Incubi who pose as humans, and infiltrate Order territories. Trying to corrupt them from the inside.
His branch is largely bureaucratic, and full of racist, bias and corrupt officials who’ve never even spoken to a Mamono. This is not a statement against the Order or law enforcement groups surrounding them. It’s just me bringing some noire to MGE. Corruption is a big thing in detective films and pulps, I’d like to explore that.
Sounds like fun, a noire element can be fun to explore if we set the scope of it.
There is a different objective between politics and social institutions in general, and the utter dependence on 'mass politics' in beckons the fanatic Orwellian nature of the Order. The aim of the Brotherhood/Commonwealth dudes is to enhance the baseline of humanity so that they don't require to be tethered to collective totalitarian structures to impose power, is in itself technically politics after all.
My subject being, maybe in a future RP your detective, and some people from the Brotherhood may meet up?
@Hound If you want your character have traveled to or have experience with Avalon/Brotherhood stuff, feel free let me know, everything is admiitedly WIP though so things are subject to change. But the more things get into mojo the more thay'll probably be set lore unless its a big change for some reason.
Ladies and Gentlemen, your savior of the Order: Druella!
It'd be a fucking doozy and a half to see what Jorge or this new Investigator would have to smoke to think of working with her
@Hound Ok, I can't tell if you're being legitmate or messing with me right now. The thread titled "It'll be fun: Part 1" If it's a no then by all means just say so, I really can't tell if you're being honest with me or not.
@Knight I'm sure he didn't mean it like that either, it's just much harder to tell online and it doesn't help with since I have trouble understanding social contexts. But I also want to make sure I'm cleared on something instead of dropping in uninvited like an anon. If I'm cleared though, I have something else planned for an entrance.
Isaac: Btw, our interaction in Albus Nuptialem will have to wait for a bit longer since I don't know much about trade bussiness and logistics, as well as having to start fleshing out Mirefield. And that's just on the backburner after other crap that I want to work on.
Knight: Nah, think of it more like Mirkwood from Tolkien’s work. It’s protected by Cyndwella’s power. If you enter the swamps, her power obscures the path to town. Alongside intertwining paths that go nowhere, little visibility due to thick fog and the swamp is full of single Mamono looking for husbands.
@BTR: What ? When did you dropped it ? Last you said about it was that you momentarily lacked ideas and let some of us do our own interactions until then. Admitedly, I kinda ran out of stuff to do too so I got slow. I remember you a next-day event planned or something.
So now what ? Can me and Isaac try to at least wrap our interaction ? I know both you and Hound were still in the middle of something.

So, if say people(Bertram and Chen) move toward do they have command and control to reveal the town or is that up to Bertram and Chen to find it?
Knight: They can try to find it. But ultimately your success is reliant upon Cyndwella’s willingness to let them in. Considering Bertram is with the Order, it isn’t likely. Cyndwella doesn’t allow Order troops on her turf. Those foolish enough to enter the swamps are mostly rounded up by the Mamono living there, while some unlucky ones drown.
The unluckiest ones get close to Lunalight, and deal with Marcus.
Knight/Lance: Bertram’s presence at the Halloween party doesn’t mean much to Cyndwella. She isn’t Aleric. Cyndwella has to be very careful about who she chooses to let in. If any path to Lunalight was mapped out, the safety of the place becomes uncertain. And as long as Bertram considers himself still part of the Order, Cyndwella won’t trust him.
To answer the other question, Cyndwella is able to get a read on people’s intentions once they step into her sphere. But even if Bertram has no intention to cause harm, Cyndwella still knows who he belongs to because she’s met him. And the Order thing is an issue.
What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you fucking stud? I'll have you know I was the top of General's Bodyguard of the Lacertilian Regiment, and I've footslogged across the plains after you, protecting the vulnerable like you would, and I have over 300 lives that still breathe thanks to me. I was trained by your veryn instructors themselves and am the last Maiden Mother that watched you grow up. You are nothing to those mercenaries but just another number. I will love the fuck out of you with precision of ecstasy the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with not being loved? Think again, lover. As we speak I can predict your next move, and your footwork patterns are being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, lover. The storm that wipes out your ability to resist me at last. You're fucking mine, kid. I can strike anywhere, anytime, and I will love you in over seven hundred ways, and that's just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in sexwork, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the Demon Lord Army and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your misery off the face of the continent and replace it with that smiling young face again, lover-mine. If only you could have known what lewd acts I have in store and am about to bring down upon you, maybe we could have loved each other sooner. But you couldn't, you didn't, and now you're paying the price, you goddamn hunk. I will love all over you and you will drown in it. You're fucking mine, kiddo.
Lion: Not quite, and my bad for not being more explicit. "Lunch break" is what I call the 40 min break in the middle of my shift. I work as night-shift from 19:00 to 02:00 and it's 21:30 in my place, as of this writing.
I remember you said you have a nice little arsenal at home, in adition to swords and such. No sane burglar should break in your home.
While it's way less likely to happen in my place (living in an appartment on the fifth story and all), the aformentioned thing I said was a reference on how we lost a pair of slippers once. Good thing it wasn't one of the better pair of shoes.
Eh, I can't say it's that bad. After all, it's my home... Even though it can feel 'overcrowded' at times. But it's fine.
As for Yurtle, it doesn't surprise me. I recently learned that turtles in general can be vicious little bastards. Apparently, they tend to bite and even cannibalise eachother, usualy due to age/size difference or teritorial behavior. If by chance you ever get Yurtle a friend, make sure you keep them in separate tanks.
My turtle is in fact an aggressive little bastard. He’s been around a long time and doesn’t take shit from anyone. But he’s really cool. He never bites unless he feels threatened. So don’t start shit around him unless you’re willing to play the most dangerous game.
Quick advances or unwarranted moves make him defensive. All I do is say his name in a specific tone every time I approach and rub his chin when I pick him up. Turtles are very affectionate animals despite what some may say.
Once I do my normal deal before grabbing him, he’s cooler than an ice cube.
Man, I didn't thought someone could capture grumpyness and cuteness in one picture but there it is. I like the orange-ish parts of his shell. Makes me want to feed him a tiny strawberry. Can he eat fruits ? What do you usualy feed him ?
I wouldn’t worry about that. I can’t speak for everyone else, but I enjoy it. And I’d imagine most here are ok with it, if not entirely on board with the referencing. Seeing your character’s actions or statements referenced is always nice. Let’s you know people are paying attention to what your characters are doing.
Lance: They’re within eyeshot. So fairly close. Sense Isaac’s gal is on peaceful terms, Lina and Vespiraa won’t get to see Marcus demonstrate how he got his title. But, that’ll make the future events more satisfying.
Avalon boys have a bit of a Columbia disaster, some make it out with their rocketpunk escape pods called ROPEs or Rentry from Orbit Pod - Emergency. Because of the height and velocity, the dispersion of the ejection could be continents apart. Arvin, one of the crew, landed in Scales Down RP location. The rest did not make it out, or did they?
I can do regular or Avalonian human, whichever you are cool with.
@Lance Yes, yes it is. It allows me to explore different scenarios with certain characters. Currently, there are two different versions of Ophelia. The first version I introduced and the one you're dealing with now. Speculation on what happened in her time is open for debate.
@Knight For you perhaps, for others, they were born in the age. And they shall continue to live in said age.
I can't say I've ever heard it used like that. I understand "stepper" to mean somebody who is confident and adept. Like saying "running like a runner," as someone who does it all the time and knows what they're doing, described with ironic understatement. At least that's how it was explained to me.
Nah, you’re good Isaac. Though Morgan didn’t help her situation very much. She didn’t explain herself very well and she was talking about clearing out the tavern. She can’t just kick out all the people who’ve paid for a room there.
Isaac Kifer wrote: Question, my mom just asked me to do a poll for what the phrase "No step for a stepper." means. Your thoughts?
Isaac Kifer wrote: My mom would like to get your opinion on this translation: "No step for a stepper" as in no second chance for a cheater.
I'm not sure. And if it's a saying then it doesn't make much sense in my native language. Given your context though, I can figure it means something along the lines of "You don't get to make one more step if you kept stepping over others", likely related to the saying "stepping on corpses" (a cheater who used other people does not get a second chance, as you've said).
Do you ever just randomly remember a show from your childhood, decide you want to watch it again, only to realize that your not likely to find it anywhere, except on youtube in videos with at best 244p video quality?
@Hound It's complicated I know, but they are trying to minimize the negative aspects of what's going to happen. The people will only have to leave for a few hours or so, if they're DE heavy mamonos, they might be able to stay within the bar. And Morgan having a fragmented psyche doesn't help with getting her thoughts across.
Isaac: Fair enough, but Marcus doesn’t know those details. To him, some random lady with shadow apparitions wants to spend a night in his home, where his children and other loved ones sleep, to do some kind of thing which he is completely in the dark about. For a guy who has a lot of enemies and a lot to lose, he isn’t going to let complete strangers with stranger agendas lurk about his home.
Morgan would have to completely rundown the reasons, procedures and all that in order to convince him. And that isn’t even including Cyndwella and Samia. Those are the ones who run the house. Not to mention, Marcus is going to be leaving Lunalight soon.
@Hound I think she gets the feeling she's not welcome inside the mansion at all. She's under the impression that your word also carries the weight as Cyndwella's. Either way she hasn't left Marcus' line of sight yet, and I need to leave for work, I close tonight.
Isaac: Spitting in Marcus’ general direction definitely hurts her chances of hospitality. Not that I’m trying to be a smart ass, but the last time someone spit at Marcus in an RP, Marcus punched them repeatedly in the face till that person’s head was a puddle of ground meat.
Suffice it to say Doc, Tirush has proven her identity as a big mother.... Lioness? She has cat qualities! And she values strength, pride, honor and endurance. As well as loyalty and protection. Tirush is all cuddles, nibbles, hugs and nuzzles, but threaten her family or break her trust and you get a defcon 1 ass beating.
Marcus is different. There are certain personal actions he takes in stride, and others he holds in great disrespect.
However, things are relatively similar between them. Marcus and Tirush do share a similar deal for threats to their families.
It feels like Isaac's OC is in a conumdrum: she needs Marcus' help but she can't explain herself because there will be consequences for knowing such information (or so she says). Anyways, Lance might have an idea...
That's just... tragic. Sounds like the cop was 'jumpy' but who knows. What baffles me is that people, for some innane reason, believe riots would somehow 'protest' to this. Like, they think they can 'avenge' that person by... fucking looting and stealing ? Honestly, at this point I'm not surprised anymore.
"Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers."
Like I said, I don’t know the whole story. The cops present say “George was resisting them so they had to restrain him”. Others say George wasn’t resisting. What we do know is a man died.
We don’t know if the death was intentional or not. If it wasn’t, I feel bad for the cop because his life is over, and he’s gonna have to live with what he did.
If it was intentional, then hot damn, hit that son of a bitch with the book.
All I do know is that these protesters are not helping. Innocent people are having their businesses burned down. Cops are being attacked. Buildings are being vandalized and looted. These fools are using this man’s death as an excuse to sock one to the establishment, naive morons.
Fortunately my hometown of Philly has been pretty chill, but we’ll see.
Long story short, I got a call from a friend who is out of town on business. His wife works as a server at an upscale penthouse restaurant in downtown Dallas. He called me asking if I could find her and get her home because police couldn't respond to the management's call for several hours. He said he was catching the first flight home. I told him I would find her and get her to her parents' house.
Texas was actually quite peaceful. There were no riots, my city of Fort Worth had only 100 protesters and a huge police presence. But Dallas is a completely different story. It's as far left as any Democrat controlled city, so their police are few and ineffective and there are lots of people who don't give a damn.
About 12:15 was when he called me. I put on my tac vest, brought my 9mm and my .25, and three magazines each. I put an overshirt on to cover it up as best I could, and left shortly after I messaged you guys.
I drove to Dallas, which itself took an hour. When I followed my gps, I found that a huge chunk of downtown had already been cordoned off. I parked my car about a mile from the block where she worked and went on foot.
Once closer in, I really saw what was going on. It wasn't quite Die Hard, but it wasn't a peaceful demonstration by far. There was a police presence in spots, but it was clear they weren't interested in stopping people, more like they were guarding choke points. I saw lots of dumpster fires, lots of broken shit, and people acting like animals. Glass was everywhere, trash was everywhere. People were just going insane, knocking down poles and signs, bashing cars. I was glad I parked far enough away.
I had to follow my gps to find her building. Once I did, I called her and told her that I was there (Jason had let her know I was on my way.) I had to go around to the rear entrance to the building and wait; it took her 45 minutes to get outside because she had to convince her manager to let her leave. He was just looking out for her, so I don't blame him.
Once she was outside, I could see she was pretty shaken up. I gave her my .25 and the mags, gave her the address where I told her my car was, and gave her my key, and told her that if we got split up, to just go, and I'd catch up with her. She was pretty upset, but she's a tough girl. We didn't say much as we went back to my car, it looked like a chunk of the action had moved on so we didn't see as many people as when I went in.
When we got to my car, I drove her to her parents' house 40 miles away, and her husband got back a few hours ago, and I got home and slept. I'm spent. I really hope I never have to see or do something like that again.
