    • "Well it'll all even out regardless, since we'll be getting more loot with more people." Lauren says, before pointing at two adventures that stood out. "Shall we recruit those two?"

        Loading editor
    • "That's not exactly how it works. You can get tons of loot and money on the first floor and the next few floors near nothing. The Atlas is basically a random dungeon generator. Anyways, sure, we'll go with them. I'll talk to one and you talk to the other. Who do you wanna approach?"

    • “Thanks...Well, take care. You and the kid and the automaton.” Riona spoke with a wave as she got up.

The two Trumparts were still playing their game with no end in sight.

    • Markus would wave goodbye back. He'd think back to what she mumbled this morning. "...Hope she'll be alright." He thought.

    • Riona soon opened the door to the front and left.

    • They were playing poker.

        Loading editor
    • He would continue his game of solitaire

        Loading editor
    • The two Trumparts continued To play on, and on, and on. Chatting happily with each other. And drinking tea that a Mad Hatter continues to refill.

        Loading editor
    • He then finished his game Siris:Don't you two have jobs to do? He said being a bit bored

        Loading editor
    • “Yeah, watching this location for intruders.” One Spade said. “Don’t mean we gotta be bored.” The other added.

        Loading editor
    • Markus would stand around for a few moments, thinking. "What to do today... No maid showed up yet... No idea if one will even show up to claim the offer. And if I leave I might miss them..." He gave a sigh and took a seat at the couch and decided to just wait for a bit and see if one would show up.

    • "I'll take two." He requested.

      MEANWHILE

The woman looked up from her meal and gave a smile. "Yup I am. Need something?"

        Loading editor
    • “Six silver.” The dwarf nodded pulling two swords out.

        Loading editor
    • Markus would hand over the six silver and take the swords home. Once inside he'd head up to Julia's room and knock. "Julia, I want you to help me train."

"Alright, well... Lets get back to town." He'd say before starting to move forward. It appeared he did not want to go slow anymore, on account of his shoulder.

      The woman simply followed behind.

Meanwhile a looming threat known as the Imperial faction are on a mission for mankind to wipe out the monster threat. Our brave party has decided to sorta fight back, but are gathering strength. So far, it’s peacful enough.)

“Trying to attack us. Stuff like that.” A spade replied.

    • (Alright, I think I'll start off at the town. Thanks Spec!)

Kirk Myverene along with his Ushi-Oni wife Lynn stroll along the dirt road toward an upcoming town. The man sports chainmail, an iron helmet, a morningstar crafted from Demon Realm Silver, and a brown sack that contains food and gold. His intention is to seek out a job board to perform some tasks for the locals. Hopefully he can pick out something that isn't too complicated, and he's all too aware of the saying that plans can fall apart when least expected. He learned that the hard way when he met Lynn.

        Loading editor
    • He then walked over and hit her with a very dainty punch in the arm Siris:Oh look I'm attacking you, surely you'll fight me now, right!?

        Loading editor
    • (Don't ignore me what I said is true we need to become Super God tier to beat them[To Oblivion])

        Loading editor
    • (Ok-We don't need to be that high of a tier but we just want to be strong enough to one shot them)

        Loading editor
    • (That sounds like an oxymoron.)

        Loading editor
    • "Oh, that Atlas? Wheres your group?"

      MEANWHILE

Markus would lead her to the backyard which was big enough for them to train. "So could you start at an easy level and work our way up? Something like that?"

        Loading editor
    • (What does?)

        Loading editor
    • (Proceeds to immediately sever your hand)

        Loading editor
    • (Or at least kicks your ass due to her "easy" being Master level difficulty to you)

        Loading editor
    • “Easy first then work up. As you wish, limiting battle output to low.” Julia nodded as she held the sword and prepared herself.

The town that Kirk would come across had a nice big sign to greet him. The town of Istvan, a well known tourist location for many heroes that come here. And of course a place with many quests.

        Loading editor
    • "Do heroes really come here?" Lynn inquires as she studies the sign.

"All kinds from what I've heard," Kirk replies.

"Even Order heroes?" Lynn asks with an expression of genuine concern.

Kirk hesitates. He has no idea how to answer this one. This was something he didn't consider throughout the entire trip here. After mentally facepalming at his ineptitude he turns to Lynn and says, "If there are any walking around then we'll know. If it puts your mind at ease I think there'll be plenty more pro-monster heroes in here than anti-monster."

A trusting grin forms on Lynn's face.

Kirk motions toward the town and says, "Now let's get a move on. I'd like to get some questing done."

The two of them proceed into Istvan and after several minutes of searching and following the guides they come upon a job board.

"Now let's see what's available," Kirk whispers to himself as he scans the contracts available, looking for one that may suit the couples' interests.

        Loading editor
    • (Might I give the two a quest?)

        Loading editor
    • (I'll leave it up to Spec since he's the one running the show.)

    • (Tikkit? The Atlas...)

        Loading editor
    • Lauren points to Joro. "He's over there convincing that guy to join."

The two could see a rather simple looking quest, something about investigating rumors. It seemed to pay well to, as it said the reward was 170 gold.

        Loading editor
    • (I wonder how Kirk and Lynn will meet the rest of your characters lol.)

Kirk eyes the quest that seems easy enough. Just look into some rumors. "This one will be a good way to get us started," Kirk mutters as he peels the contract off of the board and begins to read it with Lynn staring over his shoulder.

        Loading editor
    • "Easy as you can go and up." And with that, he handed her a training sword they started to train. At first, the training was easy at first but slowly the difficulty rose. Soon he'd be putting more and more effort into the training until he was getting either knocked back on his ass or Julia managing to get the sword up to his throat. He'd keep at it for a couple of hours and it would seem his skill improved just a bit. He wasn't doing any of his usual tactics, just swordplay. He'd get knocked on his ass once again trying to pass the current level. With a sigh, he'd get up.

"Let's take a break. Thanks for helping me train."

      MEANWHILE

"Oh..." She said as she looked over at the two. Seemed like they were getting along... Though the tall man had a stoic expression.

"Well, what's your name? Mines Mary."

        Loading editor
    • "Mine's Lauren, it's nice to meet you."

There have been rumors of a strange beast terrorizing a village. Though these are probably false it would put my mind at ease to have someone investigate them.

The quest came with a map leading to the village.

        Loading editor
    • After Siris playfully punched her on the arm, the two shrugged. “Does that count?...” One asked pulling out a book. “Hmmmm...No clue.” The other responded.

After their training was done, Julia nodded. “Of course, I am glad to assist.” She replied.

        Loading editor
    • "So Lauren, can you do magic? Good fighter?"

      MEANWHILE

"Hey, Julia, so are you able to do anything else besides fighting? Like healing? Not even with magic but have knowledge of how to care for wounds."

        Loading editor
    • “I possess the knowladge to treat cases from minor injuries to critical trauma. I can also devise strategies depending on information given. I can also clean and cook, create traps, Hunt, barter...Many skills.” She replied.

    • "I wouldn't say I'm good... Which is why I'm lucky to have poison."

        Loading editor
    • "So a jack of all trades. So I recall you have energy blades, right? Can you form any types of weapon or only those?"

      MEANWHILE

"Well, what can you do besides poisoning?" Mary asked and continued on her meal.

    • (If I could make a suggestion, it'd be a good idea to tag the RPer you're referring to in a post. It'll make the RP much easier to keep track of for different characters.)

      (Tikkit):

Kirk's eyes narrow at the words "strange beast" and mutters, "A beast? Could it be a mamono?"

"Mamono don't typically waste their time scaring the socks off of villagers. They'll usually just grab their man and go," Lynn explains.

Kirk taps his gloved finger against the two words and says, "Though there is no mention of this thing being a mamono. Again as the quest says, these rumors could be fake. Probably set up as a prank to scare people."

"The only way we'll truly know is if we go investigate," Lynn says with a shrug.

The couple follow the directions of the map. As they move along the trail Kirk whispers to himself, "Oh, how I wish that magic school hadn't shut down."

Personally, he hopes that the rumors are just that, rumors. He is a novice in earth magic, but the best he can do is manipulate small patches of land and shoot shards of hardened rock at targets.

Soon enough they can see the top of the village over a hill.

        Loading editor
    • The village was rather small, and the pair could see a lake from their position. As they stood there a man left the village and walked to the two. He wore purple armor and appeared to be a knight.

"Hello travelers! What brings you to Monpoey?" He asks, looking a bit surprised.

        Loading editor
    • "Huh, cool!" Mary exclaimed as Joro and the man approached.

"Well, he agreed. This is George and my misty friend is Lauren. My names Joro."

"My names Mary, nice to meet you three. So we're heading to the Atlas?"

"Yup. Well one more thing to do before we head to the Atlas, come on." Joro said as Mary got up and followed along with George. "So, Lauren, what exactly are you if you don't mind me asking?" Joro asked.

"Yeah, I've never seen anything like you around." Mary added.

        Loading editor
    • Kirk shows the man the contract regarding the rumors and explains, "We're here because someone was concerned about some rumors regarding a beast of some kind. Have you heard of talk of such a thing?"

Lynn eyes the lake with a relaxed interest. The small crystal body of water seems almost inviting. Maybe after this quest is complete she could convince her husband to join her in going for a dip in said lake provided it was permissible by the residents of Monpoey.

        Loading editor
    • "I'm the person who put that contract on the board! As far as the rumors go, they appear to have some sense of truth to them, for there have been some cases of livestock disappearing, and just two days ago a hunter had found the remains of a cow." The man says to Kirk.

"Well, we call ourselves Eatherlytes." Lauren says to the group.

        Loading editor
    • (Tikkit):

Both Kirk and Lynn exchange glances with each other. Looks like something might be out there after all. Vanishing livestock is never a good sign, especially when a population as small as Monpoey's relies on it for food.

"Did, anyone see what this creature looked like?" Kirk asks the man, hoping against hope that the description wouldn't be "big and terrifying".

Lynn twiddles with her claws and asks the man, "Where could we find this hunter?"

        Loading editor
    • "Oh, so do all Eatherlytes look like you or are you just, like, a Mamono Eatherlyte?" Mary asked as she looked around at the various shops.

"Isn't that a bit rude to ask?" Joro said as they headed for a magic shop.

        Loading editor
    • "How is that rude? I'd be curious if I met someone who belonged to a species I've never met before. And I am a mamono Eatherlyte." Lauren says.

"No, but the ground near the remains and disappearances was rather wet, if that helps. And there were clawmarks upon the remains." The man says. "He's currently out hunting, but I can tell you when he gets back."

        Loading editor
    • "See?" Mary said towards Joro who only gave a sigh.

"I don't know if being a Mamono is a personal matter. I mean, some women are forced into turning into a Mamono by other Mamono so I always saw it as a touchy subject. Anyways, I request that everyone chip in five gold to buy an escape scroll." He said and George and Mary seem to oblige without complaint.

    • Lauren grimaced, not only did she have no gold, but anything she could sell was with Wellington...

    • (Tikkit):

Kirk dwelled on this new information provided by the quest giver. Wet ground could imply that the creature is an aquatic type. It didn't eliminate the possibility of it having a terrifying presence though.

"That would be appreciated sir," he told the man and adds, "What did these claw marks look like?"

Lynn glances to her right and spots a small table under an umbrella close by. It would be a good place to sit and wait for the hunter's return.

        Loading editor
    • Markus would nod. Looks like he was rather lucky finding her. "So another thing, can you create a mask of energy to hide your face?"

        Loading editor
    • "Sorry, I left all my gold with my horse. I'll go get it..." Lauren says, running off to find Wellington.

The man is silent for a moment before answering. "They looked to be like those of your typical predator, such as a wolf or fox or bear, but when we asked our local mage to inspect them, she determined they were magical in nature...."

    • "I could really use a drink." Edward commented as the town came into sight. A very loud sigh of relief would exit his nouth.

        Loading editor
    • "Well, I..." Joro started but Lauren ran off. He then turned to Mary and George. "So... Hows you two day be going?"

Wellington was all the way at the inn where she met Joro... Alone... Unattended... Let's hope nothing's missing.

    • Fleur perks up at the mention of drinking. "On how I love a glass of wine after a long day!" She pauses. "Give me your honest opinion, would I be positively greeted upon entrance?"

Lauren immediately begins to check Wellington to see if anything was stolen.

Kirk's frown grows even greater. "A magical beast," he thinks. He looks up at the man and says, "You have been very helpful thus far sir. What's your name?"

"And where could we talk to the mage to gather more information on the beast?" asks Lynn, "There are many kinds of magic, but it's helpful to know which type it was specifically."

Before Kirk and Lynn head for the lake Kirk tells Gideon, "And thank you, same to you. I hope we can stop this beast before it strikes again."

The two of them walk down to the lake and it doesn't take long for them to find a structure that looks like it would be owned by someone who specializes in magic. They both head up to it and Lynn knocks on the door.

"I always hate doing this..." She said with a sigh as she poked her thumb and imprinted some blood on the inside of the scroll. Joro and George would do the same and pass the scroll to Lauren.

    • (Tikkit):

Both Kirk and Lynn give the Elf genuine smiles.

"Hello. Are you the town mage known as Esmeralda? If so, we'd like to ask you a few questions regarding the disappearing livestock," says Kirk.

He then waves his hand and says, "Name's Kirk by the way."

"Lynn, I'm his wife," says Lynn.

"So... Any of you guys Espers?" Mary said, trying to make conversation.

"Nope, but I can use magic at least." Joro responded.

"I'm not an Esper AND can't use magic." Mary said with a sigh.

Kirk takes in the homely smell that controls the Elf's living room. It reminds him of his home back in Cossadia. He stands next to a table and waits for Esmeralda's answer.

    • "What's an Esper?" Lauren asks.

"Well, though I can't be certain, it was most likely a type of air or water magic used. Possibly a mix of the two, like thunder magic." Esmeralda explains.

        Loading editor
    • “A dragon? Perhaps a squadron of combat model...Oh, more reasonable and realistic options...I reccomend a very skilled and varied party unless you are some sort of one man who uses dragonslayer equipment with superhuman abilities. Otherwise, if your plan is for the both of us, we would be fighting to an extreme with so few allies.” Julia replied.

Kirk sighs when he hears of the beast possibly utilizing thunder magic. Another check mark to add to the list of things he did not want to be dealing with right now.

He walks up to Lynn and whispers in her ear, "I'll be fine dear. Just stay out of sight for the time being."

"If he tries to hurt you I'll smash down the door," Lynn says with a joking smile.

Kirk chuckles and stroke's his wife's hair, "If he tries to hurt me you'll hear the window shatter and see me running across the field toward you. But in all seriousness I'm confident that I'll be fine."

"Okay dear," Lynn says as she takes cover behind several bushes.

Kirk makes his way up the dirt road to the field owner's house. As he does he watches the cows and sheep peacefully graze in the fields, most likely unaware of their disappearing brethren. Kirk hopes that this night he can put an end to the creature's thieving activities, and he had a plan that he hopes the owner will approve of.

He steps onto the porch and knocks on the door.

      MEANWHILE

"Well, sorta. An Esper that controls fire will be able to master it more quickly, be able to use it more flexibly, and use it far more powerfully than a magic fire user. They also can't have their ability canceled by nullifying magic items. But there can be drawbacks to using their abilities like losing control or hurting themselves." Joro spoke.

"There's also been three classifications for Espers. Emitter, Transformation, and Mutant. Emitter would be like using fire we talked about earlier. Transformation would be altering your own body in some way like making yourself grow or shrink. And Mutant is where somebody is born with a unique feature that none of the other people in their race have so like a Mermaid being born with wings would be an Esper. It also applies to other races, not just Humans."

There was a man in the village that looked different compared to the commonfolk. His hair was, with natural dyes, dyed aquamarine with bits of a darker blue in some places, and long enough to be at the neck. His smile was present, but his brown eyes were sharply scanning the people around him. The clothes that he was wearing that could be seen included a dark grey trenchcoat that went down to his ankles with a pair of blue pants, along with a scarf that was currently around his neck, though it would be a good assumtion that it was used more for concealment rather than warmth. Black work boots were worn on his feet.

Sebastian stood in a spot that wouldnt attract too much attention, watching the passing traveler and resident villager with curiosity. He made a few mental notes about the people that he deemed interesting and starting walking.

"He trusts us to deal with the problem," Kirk replies.

"You have a plan?" Lynn inquires.

"Yeah, you'll use your web to set up sticky traps around the perimeter of the fields. The hope is when night comes the creature will step on the web and get stuck, allowing us to deal with it more easily," Kirk answers.

"What if it goes over it?" Lynn asks.

"Then we deal with it the old-fashioned way," Kirk replies.

    • (Tikkit): During that time Lynn had been hard at work producing web around the fence border of the fields. They ate food from time to time and when Lynn was finished the fence was lined with her web on both sides.

With the rise of the moon Kirk and Lynn take cover in some nearby bushes, their eyes and ears alert for anything or anyone attempting to cross the fence into the fields.

    • As the night continued they could see something approaching the fields from the nearby forest. While they couldn't make out much of the details of the being, because of the distance, they could see that it had the general body shape of an Unagi-Joro, Wurm, Lamia, ect.

They could also see that it carried something akin to a trident, the middle prong stood tall and slender, while the other two were part of a crescent.

It continued in its approach towards the cattle, unaware of the trap that had been lain.

    • (Tikkit): The duo observe the odd creature as it approaches the fields.

"If it's a mamono, maybe we can talk to it," Kirk whispers as the creature moves over the web trap and becomes stuck, just as he and Lynn had hoped.

The two rapidly approach it and Lynn calls out to it, "There are people living in this village that need this livestock more than you ma'am!"

She fires a string of web in an attempt to bind the thief's hands together so that she can disarm it without much trouble.

    • Now that they were closer they could see its arms and tail were coated in deep blue scales, and that it had a white underbelly. It was definitely a sort of mamono, as it had the face of a woman and the... chest, of one, thankfully covered in rags. Her head had two indigo "Fins" as did her arms and tail. Said tail was trapped in web.

"Vile foes! Release me or suffer my wrath!" She shouted, smashing her trident into the web shot at her, cutting it in half.

"Indeed, this village relies on its cattle for survival," says Kirk.

Men, women, children. Could you bare to let a child starve?" Kirk asks the guilty mamono hoping that his use of pathos will get her to rethink her criminal ways.

"..." This more than anything else he had said gave her pause, though it was short lived. She used her trident to free herself of her web prison.

"And what if she doesn't? You know the old saying?" Lynn asks as her expression shifts to one of concern.

"Once a thief, always a thief. Yes, I remember. Doesn't mean that all thieves are irredeemable though. I'm going to recommend to Gideon that they hire some guards for night watch. Hopefully that will dissuade her and any other potential thieves from trying," Kirk replies.

Once Joro finishes the circle he stands up and dusts himself off. "Alright, we're set to go." And with that, they head out. They would walk around for a while, not monsters in sight.

    • (Tikkit/Treahead): It is unfortunate that Gideon couldn't be found. However, both Kirk and Lynn are confident that he'll be up bright and early the next morning so they can tell him the good news.

As they move along the road back to Istvan however, they spot a figure disappear into the shadows.

"What was that?" Lynn whispers with an alert glare toward the area that the being dove into hiding.

Kirk isn't sure if the figure is the Mershark, a bandit, or some other entity. Whatever it is, he feels that it would be a good idea to make their presence known.

He curls his fingers toward the ground and three small pieces of sharpened earthern rock rise from it and float above his hand.

"Hey there! Who or whatever you are! If you're just minding your own business, then continue moving on! If you intend to cause trouble, then be warned that my wife and I are not to be taken lightly in a fight!" he calls out to whoever hid in the darkness.

Lynn has a scowl. Her muscles are popped out trying to make her appear as intimidating as possible.

Mary chimes in as George holds out three bags that had a light blue glow to them.

      MEANWHILE

George nodded as he stood up. "Well, let's head down to the next floor." And so the group descended into the darkness and found themselves at the second level. They'd start through the dungeon where they found a group of Goblins. George and Mary would take action, going on offense as Joro used magic to launch sharp, crystal fragments that tore at the flesh and skin. His pets would gang up on one Goblin too.

The fray against the Goblins wouldn't last very long. The Goblins were wiped out pretty quickly. After everything was said and done, Lauren would gather 20 Blue Stones and found a chest sitting in the corner. She could also take note that enemy bodies seem to turn into black sludge and dissipate, leaving behind the Blue Stones.

    • (Treahead): The timberwood interior of the inn is quite lively with the fresh scent of pinewood. It has two floors complete with a small eatery in the corner. A Satyros clerk is seated behind the desk.

Kirk turns and spots Sebastian outside, but he has no clue that it was him the couple encountered on the road earlier due to the shadows of the night making it very difficult to see. He simply considers Sebastian to be another civilian and turns back to his wife who asks him, "How long should we stay?"

"Ehh not sure, probably a couple days," Kirk answers with a shrug.

    • (Treahead): The couple, unaware of Sebastian watching them, walk up to the front desk where the Satyros is.

The Satyros peers up at the duo and a welcoming smile spreads across her face. "Hello there, welcome to the inn. How may I help you you lovely couple?" she asks in a sweet voice.

"Hello ma'am. My wife and I were hoping to rent a room here for three days," Kirk answers.

The Satyros takes a feather pen out of an ink bottle and says, "Well, you've come to the right place. Heroes come and go from here all the time. If you're lucky you might meet some of them. I heard that Elgrelmen the lightning wizard is currently in the city right now. He's stopped two Order battleships from destroying a fleet of mamono refugees."

Kirk chuckles and says, "Well, we hope to be as strong as him one day. I'm only a novice in earth magic right now."

"Well dear, I'm sure that Istvan has a magic school for aspiring mages like yourself. Perhaps you could visit it over the course of your stay here," the Satyros suggests as she jots down something on a piece of paper.

"What are the rates in this inn?" asks Lynn.

"Ten gold a night. So it's thirty gold since you'll be staying for three days," the Satyros explains.

"That works then," Kirk says as he reaches into his sack and removes the required amount to place on the desk.

    • (Flamebiplane)

Sebastian continues to watch, both impatient and curious. It was an odd mixure of feelings. While he waited, he started counting his gold. 5, 10, 15, 20, 30. Just enough, woth 5 to spare.

    • He would look to see what her rank was

    • (Treahead): The coins clink as they pile onto the table. The Satyros takes a quick session to count them all to make sure that they're the exact amount. As soon as she finishes she says to Kirk, "Very good sir! You and your wife's room will be Room 24 on the right."

The goat woman reaches under her desk and returns with a silver key. "This will allow you two into your room. Don't lose it or break it, otherwise a replacement costs 300 gold," she warns with a giggle.

"We'll keep that in mind," Kirk assures her as he takes the key from the Satyros, quite stunned at the high price of a replacement. Most likely a motivator for guests to not lose their keys.

Both Kirk and Lynn move down the hall to the designated Room 24.

"Hey, Joro, did you tell her about the abnormals?" Joro would then scratch his head in response.

"I... Kinda forgot to." He said and let out a small laugh.

She soon comes up with another silver key and holds it out for Sebastian to take. "Room 28 on the right. Don't lose or destroy your key or it's a 300 gold replacement," she tells him.

Down the hall Kirk inserts his key into the lock and turns. There is a clunking sound to indicate that the door has been unlocked.

It is open and inside the couple find a fresh room complete with a large simple bed, a long table with two cushion chairs, a nightstand, and a lantern glowing yellow by means of arcane magic.

"It's nice," Lynn comments as she closes the door behind them and locks it.
