a lone creature trucks silently down a dirt road. a dire wolf's pelt sields it from the pouring rain. it's armor composed of hide and leather, many pockets sewn in, and any number of items hanging from it's belt. a crossbow is on it's belt, but other than that, it appears unnarmed.
Walking down the opposite direction of the beasthunter, a lone Succubus walked, dressed in what appeared to be a black cloak. The only noticeable things on her were, her tail which drooped next to her feet and her horns, which slightly poked out from under her hood. She could smell lust from the hunter, as they approached each other.
The Succubus smirked underneath her hood, her tail swished with excitement, her wings began to stretch unnoticed, and her eyes were now glowing a hazy red. She stopped and waited for the hunter to pass her, licking her lips while she patiently waited.
Once the hunter had passed her, the Succubus had giggled, before stretching her wings fully, causing holes to rip open in her cloak, she pulled her hood off of her head and began to fly into the air. "I've waited so long for a man!" she said, diving right for the hunter.
the hunter drew back his crossbow, loading a bolt into it in the blink of an eye. the tip appeared to be made of gold and silver, covered in wicked-looking thorns, and in the shape of a dragon's head. every edge of it was razor sharp, and it radiated a soft, warm light. "if you're looking for a sex toy, get lost. if you're looking for a partner, then you're welcome to tag along/" he spoke slowly, and with a rough, gravely accent. his armor appeared to be made of some kind of scale underneath the fur.
The succubus followed the bolt, and as the lizards rushed out of the forest, she began to fly into the air. "Where the hell did these things come from?" she asked, her wings flapping, as her tail stretched and whipped one of the lizards rapidly.
The Succubus' wings created a powerful gust of wind, sending a few lizards into the trees they had emerged from. "Well, what's your name stranger?" she asked, pulling out two iron daggers, and nose-dived towards a lizard, stabbing it in its neck and eye. Then, she flew back up, snatching a lizard by its neck with her tail of looped around to slam it into a few others.
"Bellia," she said, slicing a lizard along its spine, fully paralyzing it. "Ray Delere!" she said, as a ball of pink energy formed in her hand, shooting a disintegration beam, incinerating a few lizards before rushing towards another group of them.
the lizards began to flee into the forest, and he walked into the brush to retrieve his dragon bolt. he came to stand face-to-face with the succubus. "not bad. I'd like to know what other magic you can use." he extended a hand to the succubus. "I look forward to working with you... partner." a slight smile crossed his lips.
He froze for a moment, before he slowley returned her hug, unsure of what to do. "I... we should go. follow me." he shoved her off of him, hiding his face and adjusting his belt. "the alpha is in a cave not far from here." he lept onto a treebranch, and began to bound through the forest, pausing every once in a while to check and see if Bellia was following. he then stoped, and held out his arm to stop her, and then put his finger to his mouth. he pointed at a tree thats roots formed a natural hollow in the ground. silently, he lept from the tree, loaded his corssbow, and dashed into the cave. there was a screech, and a shout, and then nothing.
gareth sat leaning up against the corpse of a massive lizard, winceing and tearing up strips of his trousers to bandage his bleeding shoulder. there were teeth marks, and a pool of blood was forming on the floor. "For the first time in fourteen years, I missed." he winced again. "all it takes is one misplaced bolt. care to lend a hand here?"
"Sorry, I don't have anything, but I learned a bit about bandaging things up," she said, quickly wrapping Gareth's arm up in bandages. "Did you already put some disinfectant on it?" she asked, crossing her arms over her bust and narrowing her eyes.
Bellia firstly, punched Gareth in his arm, right where his wound was. Before reaching for the white pouch, pulling out a powdery white substance, "Alright, hold still" she said, undoing the bandages and sprinkled the substance over her wound, before re-wrapping it in fresh bandages.
"ahrg!" he doubled over after she hit him, and hissed through his teeth. once she finished, he pulled a green vial from his belt, and pured it over the bandages, and did the same with a red one. "that sould speed up the healing process. Might as well wait out the rain anyways." he shifted, and threw off some of the pelts he wore on the ground, motioning for Bellia to lie down. then, exausted, le leaned up against the cave wall, and closed his eyes. after a few moments, he spoke. "erlier, you said that you had waited a long time for a man. what did you mean?" he rolled his damaged soulder.
(Thanks! Here she is, Juvia. Also, can other people join or is this just between us?)
Through the rain, a little girl was wandering through the forest, she was cloaked in an old and tattered cloak, she had sensed the lust from Gareth and rolled her eyes, continuing towards him. Finally, she stumbled upon the cave where the yellow lizards had been massacred, 'What in Hel's name happened here?' she thought, stepping past the corpses and entering the cave's mouth. After a few minutes, she stumbled upon Gareth resting against a giant frilled yellow lizard, 'Hmm... Did he manage to kill a Bundii lizard?' she asked herself, covering herself completely in her cloak and hid behind the lizard's corpse.
Underneath her cloak, the Lich had opened her tome, through the small but many holes in her cloak, he could see a faint bluish-purple light emanating through. "Anima Maniplos" she said, as four navy blue skulls flew out of her tome and cloak, heading straight for Gareth's crossbow, moving around rapidly to avoid being hit.
Somewhere nearby a Strange Creature which looked like a Purple Scaled Medusa covered in slime lay coiled. Her serpent hair, which was rather long, watched over their master. After a few minutes she woke up and yawned. After losing her drowsiness she looked around.
Gareth fired his crossbow, and rapidly loaded in another two bolts, easily knocking out two more of the skulls. however, he was unnable to destroy the fourth, and his crossbow was knocked from his hand.
"well that's an interesting way to say... hello." he stoped short of his sentance, and stared, open mouthed at Juvia. "Your... a litch." he scrambled backward, trying to get to his crossbow, but instead, he only managed to tear the bandages on his shoulde, and fell to his knees in pain.
"If your going to kill me, just get it over with. Just promise me that you wont bring me back when your done. tough I wouldn't put it past an undead to go back on their word." he winced again, and his eyes were welling up with tears.
"Is that what you think Undead do?" she asked, floating upside down in front of him. "I'm a Lich, I don't have any reason to kill you, nor would I have any reason to bring you back" she continued, "But, I will treat your wounds for you, as a gift of mercy, instead of letting you writhe in pain" Juvia said, directing her hand to his wound "Sana" she said, as a green glow emanated from his wound. Once it had completely healed, the glow disappeared and Juvia landed in front of him. "Now... Do you still think that Undead are as horrible as you say?" she asked, looking down at him with icy cold eyes.
"I would rather be in pain than accept help from you. It was a litch that killed my brother, and a litch that brought him back to kill me. so yes, my opinion on the undead remains the same. It will take more than a healing spell to convince me of that." He stood up, and drew his knife, begining to carve aways at te lizards body, extracting the meat, bones, and other usefull parts, and storeing them in the various pouches sewed into the hides he wore. "you have my gratitude. but nothing more." he tossed her a small, bronze coin. it was of no known currency to her. one one side, it had a wolf with a sword for a fang engraved on it, and on the other, the words 'lupis. mortis. korfeo.' he then walked out of the cave.
'This one is interesting' Juvia thought, picking up the bronze coin. Her eyes began to glow as the coin floated in the palm of her hand, engulfed by purple energy, slowly forming into a small knife. "Hmm..." Juvia said, flying after Gareth, her knife following. Once she was outside, she noticed that the rain had let up to a drizzle, "Sir?" she called out to him, as she didn't know his name yet.
"Radix" she'd say, rooting Gareth to the ground, "I'd like to test your prowess with Undead if you don't mind, now try and dodge this: Roma Caput Vivaldi" she said, as semi-visible crescent winds flew towards him, a few already slicing his clothes a bit.
The Slimescale slithers towards the odd pair, a worried expression in her face. While she currently had no interest in a husband, it would definitely not hurt to get in the good graces of a potential husband. And if there was fighting going on like she suspected, then she would need to stop it.
Juvia had sensed the Slimescale's presence, "Whoever you are, come out... I can sense you" she'd say, opening her tome "Venator Maniplos" Juvia casted a spell as four balls of energy had arose from her tome's pages and flew directly towards the Slimescale Priestess.
Her hair hissed, and she began to unravel the spells used against her. After the last one flickers out in front of her, she slithers forwards. "I heard the sounds of fighting, so I came to investigate and put it to a stop!"
"This is none of your concern, either be on your way or face me," Juvia said, keeping her voice completely monotone and calm. Her tome's pages were already fluttering back and forth, searching for Juvia's next spell.
"As you which, snake," Juvia said, as her tome stopping flipping its pages. "Obice Sphaericis" she'd say, as a protective bubble appeared around her, "Obice Ignis" she'd continue, as the barrier shot beams of energy at both the Slimescale and Gareth. "Now, you face a Lich. Let's see how long you both last" Juvia taunted, looking through her tome for another spell in case they managed to somehow break through her barrier.
"I make it a point to be prepared for any situation. undead are chief among them!" He took aim with his crossbow. "slimescale, cover me! occidere mortuis... igne comburetis... frigore glaciem... mundare sancta, corrumpit profanum, concident terram, et caelum disperdet! contra arcane!"
His bolt was Coated with a bright light, and all the magic in te area seemed to vanis as te bolt took flight. it passed through the energy beams, through the shield, and pierced juvia's right shoulder. the shaft disolved, but the tip of the bolt remained implanted in her shoulder, creating a literaly insane amount of pain. Gareth fell to his knees, out of breath.
"Never... actualy... thought that... I would... have to use... that. antimage bolt. one time use. holy type. really, really expensive. damn."
Juvia stopped screaming, her monotone voice back into play as she got up and pulled the bolt from her shoulder. "I'd much rather be killed by either of you," she said, backing away from the Priestess in case she actually tried to kill her.
"I'm not an idiot, I just have no reason to trust someone who also tried to attack me. Though this experiment was very interesting, I didn't imagine you'd come along and attack me. This just means that I need to do better with my magical abilities, and learn how to handle multiple targets" she'd reply, picking up her tome and opening it. "I need to heal myself, and that bolt snatched away my magic. Damnit!" she said, her voice remaining monotone.
"you shoot a bunch of air blades at me, and you don't expect me to fight back, and now you expect me to agree to see you healed? youve got alot to learn, kid." he walked over to her, and without her magic, he was much more intimidating. he was actualy nine and a half feet tall. a giant, by human standards. he leaned down, and put his elbow on his knee as he looked down on her. "I could make sure that you never come back out of your grave, let alone use magic... but, if it weren't for that medalion, I would have aimed for the head."
he stood up. "you can't just heal a wound from an antimage weapon. well, you can, but the magic canceling effect will remain. otherwise, it would be quickly canceled by another mage, since it was origionaly designed to be used against battlemages in full-scale wars. you need it to be removed by whoever created the weapon. in this case, a dusty old fool I knew. Gaynor, arguably the most powerful human wizard currently alive."
"thing is, last I saw him, he was headed towards a place called the observatory..." he suddered. "and I really, really don't want to go there." he glanced back at juvia. "you'd better be grateful for that medalion. long-standing enchantments and curses are the one thing that bolt doesn't affect."
The Slimescale sighs, well, she might as well heal her then. The Priestess slithers over and begins to rub the area around the wound with slime, turning any pain Juvia felt into pleasure and healing her. Of course, she still had no magic.
"I don't mind a companion, but I never asked for an enterage, let alone a undead following me around... what's next, a werewolf? a cimmera? a ferkin' dragon?!" (if you get that last refference, you are a god.)
"in all seriousness though. what do I get in return, ya' tiny corpse? you got money? not locked away in that armor, that's for sure. you got power? not untill I give you your magic back. I never work for free. so what's in it for me?" he leaned down, glareing at her. he was starting to become incredibly agitated with this girl's lack of facial expressions.
"What would you like in turn for restoring my powers? Gold? I can make that using alchemy. Protection? I can resurrect an army for you. Or... would like something a bit more... sensual?" she'd ask, uncrossing her arms and started to grope Gareth's penis.
"holy sh- calm yourself! I mean, I have no need for an army, especialy an undead one. I ave' all the money I need to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something, and even then, I like my job. he looked over to the silverscale. "I honestly ave no idea how to react to this." he shoved juvia off of him, his eyes still hiden by his hood, but his mouth was twisted in confusion. "I'm no stanger to strange companionship, but I don't think that I could ever get used to an undead serveing me. you're just gonna ave to learn to live without magic. sides' it'd probably do you some good." he turned around, and began walking back towards the road.
"I'll do my best, slimescale, but I don't know if I can make any promises with shortie here following me around." he sighed. "you owe me something for sure, but we can figure that out later. if your going to be following me around, at least tell me your names."
Esmer scowled. "No, I'm on vacation. Having a title that basically means 'We're far too busy to manage a religion, so since you aren't married, you can!' Gets tiring, so I've pushed my duties onto some other poor Slimescale."
"I earned that title beacuse that's where I was trained, and that I what I preffer to go by. that's also where gaynor recieved a part of his training, way back in the day." he sighed. "your kind confuse don't make any sense to me, esmer.
