The land of Urizal is a world I'm creating and I'm using this RP as a way to test out ideas and see what to change, what to keep and what to get rid of all together. The RP will start in the center of a poor village named Alnwick where our adventurers will seek out glory and fame. Keep in mind the characters are supposed to be sort of nobody characters, young and naive to say. So the gear and skills should be at most average.
Equipment: Books on herbs and plants, monster races, empty journals for more personal entries, basic magic robe.
Passive powers: Aura of Reason (3% chance of calming down tense situations)
Abilities: Novice level magic, such as Fire, Spark, and Gust.
Ultimate Ability: None yet, but might be added later on.
Personality: Calm, Rational, Focused, Supportive, Knowledgeable (in a basic sense), Collective (likes to aquire items that are unique, but is not greedy about just grabbing them from someone without asking.)
(*King K has joined the sever*- I mean, yeah sure. You can join. Dramea, we can have your character start by entering the city and Tikki, this is a good chance for your character to join the main group.)
At the entrance of Ivorysteb, there was a Large Mouse. She stowed away on a merchant's cart, as she didn't wish to walk to Ivorysteb, her name was Leyna and she was currently eating a few of the merchant's wares. Once he stopped, Leyna looked around before quickly hopping out of his cart, jumping over a man who came to unload the cart. Leyna ran a few streets away, turning down a few corners, she knew that they didn't know she was there, but they'd also be furious at the fact that Leyna ate some of their wares. Once she was sure that she'd gotten away, Leyna was now lost. "Really?" she said, facepalming herself, walking into a crowd of people who were heading for the guild, 'What's this place?' she thought to herself, picking the pockets of the people she was traveling with, gaining a nice collection of 48 silver coins and one gold coin.
Leyna entered the guild, admiring all of the shiny armor and weapons that everyone was holding. "This place is a jackpot!" she said, eyeing one guy's shiny steel greatsword. Leyna also noticed that she herself had no weapon as of now- less she counted her useful front teeth, which she did not- which would make it difficult to do certain things. So, Leyna decided to wait at a table for fortune to come to her, "Man... This sucks!" she said, holding her face in her hands, scanning the lobby.
Tobias was, by all accounts, an average everyday person, who, like many others who strived before him, to become one of the greatest mages of Urizal, although such a path had more dangers than any knight could hope to fathom. While the others sought out the power of magic arts, Tobias preferred to learn more about the world rather than blast it in an accidental mishap. While though he was a novice, he had the respect of many of his basic peers. Often more than not he was the voice of reason when it came to debates between the lower class of magicans, however it didn't always work, as blasts of magic were fired at him for even trying such attempts. Nevertheless, Tobias always got up, and with his basic understanding of magic, was able to cure his wounds easily since the injuires caused by the arguers shots tended to be minor.
He found solace in the library provided in the small town of Norvak. Like many small towns, it was a dainty community, filled with cooperative townsfolk and productive establishments. Since it was a port town, fish often covered the scent lf the air slightly, although it wasn't unpleasant, since the scents of the products being used in a more culinary fashion outweighed the aroma of the more distingushed smell fresh caught fish had. Small wooden boats often traveled with minimal crewnmates as catching the aquatic animals was essential to their routine.
Tobias was happy with his life in Norvak, yet at the same time he yearned for more than just experiencing the world through pages in a tome.
'Novak is my home...' Tobias thought, pondering what it would be like in the outside world beyond his town's own shores 'But I can't help but feel that there is more out there! Books are good and all, but knowledge is next to experience!'
Grabbing his wooden staff, which had served him faithfully throughout the years, and his assortment of books as well as his personal record-keeping journals, he set off with the blessings of his teachers, who gave him a couple of small parting gifts. A simple magic robe with Tobias' own name on it, and the Aura of Reasoning, to improve his chances of making peace with others.
Bidding farewell to his fellow scholars before leaving, the young chronicler left the town as the general population taking little notice of his departure, as daily life in Norvak was often occupied with work. And thus began Tobias' journey across Urizal, stepping forth onto the fresh paved dirt and feeling the clear breeze as his footsteps patted the road along the green growing grasslands.
As Leyna looked around, she could see numerous people sitting around of different ages, races, and heights. She could see Morgan, Jake, and Astalia looking over the job board before picking out what she overhears to be a slime slaying quest. There was also Emersa, the Dragon who seemed to be with the group but was trying to avoid attention though considering she was the daughter of Lord Ainz, a few people did take notice and did indeed talk about it. She then sees Valorad approach the group with the intentions of joining them.
Morgan would scratch the back of his head as he looked from the quest to his teammates then back to Valorad. "Well... Sure! The more the merrier. My names Morgan." He didn't mind another tag-along since it was 15 silver for each person.
(The character sheet is the second reply of the first part.)
"Even if I don't have a weapon, slimes are still pretty easy. That merchant and his friends were able to take care of a low-level Queen Slime. I shouldn't ask to join them, they already have so many people" Leyna said, carefully blending in with a small group of guild members while still watching and listening to Morgan's group.
(Hopefully I'm doing alright so far. Kind of new to this thing.)
Continuing his trek across the green fields, Tobias stopped to take a look at some green plants that had sprouted up in alongside the already healthy grass.
"Ah, Curon plants! Perfect for curing poisons and other toxic substances, even if eaten a little raw. Taste doesn't do it much either, but still! Essential for any beginner starting out." Tobias said, eager to collect the medicinal vegetation.
Tobias collected twelve of the plants, since such a common herb was easily regrowable after a few days' time. Putting them in his bag, the young chronicler continued onwards, further taking in the sights and jotting down notes about his travels so far, althogh there was nothing eventful mentioned within it besides his plant gathering so far.
Tobias continued walking until he had his sights upon the city of Ivorysteb, where the sounds of the people were evident across the vast patch of land. Knowing this was a major hub for the pursuit of knowledge, he picked up the pace, eager to delve into the books they possessed.
After a few days of travel, Tobias would see Ivorysteb in the distance. He first had to cross farmland for a few miles but it's within' sight. And must be a major relief as he had some close calls with Goblins, Wolves, and other undesirable creatures. As he traveled towards the city, he'd see many races around the farmland doing work from Lizardman, Merfolk, Minotaurs, to Humans.
When approaching the gates of the city, the young chronicler passed by the remains of what appeared to be an epic battle. Undead corpses littered about the outside of the city as curiosity got the better of Tobias. Looking about the amount of chaos that had ensued, he noticed a small armguard with an odd symbol upon it. A crown resting upon twin rapiers, surrounded by a border of thorns.
"This is...odd. I've certainly never seen a symbol like this before in the books back at Norvak. Wonder if this means anything..." Tobias examined, picking up the object and storing it in his parcel, bringing it with him.
(Hmm...well I suppose the armguard could be a low-level artifact or equipment, I guess. Since I had a major plot idea, but then it was originally all thought out by you, I'll leave it to you to decide what this item's effects are if there are any, MekRex. No curses or any ill effects though since it is a low-level item.)
(Going need to get it off of the death cart first, lol.)
Tobias would suddenly hear a voice yell at him. "OI! Don't be picking at the dead for loot and all." A gruff man said as he picked up the body and put on a cart for transporting the corpses. He'd see that the mess was currently being cleaned up.
He could also see one of the body seemed... Lively...
The gruff man let out a 'hm'. "Ya can keep it since you already picked it off of the chap. Consider it a welcome gift to the city. Tell anyone though I'll gut ya like a fish." He said as he went about his business. Tobias could also spot two guards taking away an Undead that managed to survive the battle.
Busy with his oddities, far from prying eyes, David had diddled around with them enough to get a very basica idea of where and hence he could make use of them. Throwing the black orbs to see the effects would have to be on an easily killable enemy...or monster.
"For the moment, however, I'm out of there. Not a fan of alcohol..." David takes a rise and makes his way out the door,
Tobias was skeptical of the fact that there was an Undead being taken in for questioning, as he knew most didn't talk, or even want to under the circumstances of being interrogated. He shrugged, deciding it wasn't worth getting hassled over, equipped the armguard, and proceeded inside Ivorysteb. Once inside, he found himself looking in wonder at tbe large city. Although most people he saw were wary of yet another attack, but they seemed to appear calm, as if they knew this city would protect them.
"Wow...this is certainly a far cry from Norvak...hmm?" Tobias said, gazing at his surroundings before gazing upon a bulletin board full of requests, all hounded by adventurers seeking monetary gain from completing them. "Well, it seems there's no shortage of quests, and I am light on silver...oh, why not? One little quest will surely get me more books!"
With that, Tobias strode forwards to the board, seeing requests left and right, some of them within his skill-set. The difficulty was choosing one...
(Aaaaaand I'm going to bed. We'll pick this up when I get up in the morning.)
There were numerous quests ranging from Goblins and Slimes to Dragons and other epic beasts. Of course, he wasn't going to take on a Dragon but it just showed how varied the quests are. He did see a request to slay low-leveled Slimes for 15 silver...
The chronicler gazed upon the request. It was indeed 15 silver per participant, and even though the amount seemed minimal enough, Tobias knew how to get even more silver out of it.
"Slimes. And of the lower variety, no less. Should make a pretty silver if I can snag a couple of slime cores from them..." Tobias said to himself, grabbing the quest document and beginning his walk to the specified location when he was interrupted by a hand on his shoulder.
Yes, if he could get around 5 cores that would equate to two silver. Keeping in mind these are low-leveled slimes. The hand on his shoulder which was more of a tap belonged to Morgan. "Excuse me sir but that quest..." He said while taking out his own copy. "Is it the same as this one?" Of course, Lenya has been tailing the group no doubt.
Looking upon the stranger's copy of the quest, it was exactly the same. However, as Tobias realized they were going the same direction, the young chronicler spotted a shady character, who immediately dissapeared from his gaze. Looking back at the man who showed him the same quest, he offered his hand, although cautiously.
"Name's Tobias. Tobias Relegard of Norvak. And you are...?" Tobias began, letting the warrior speak out.
Tobias looked over the group, and was suprised to say the least. Morgan looked like most hunans, but his companions were the ones sticking out more. Emersa was a draconic being, a race which for the most part oversaw bigger things than a simple slime quest, which by her inclusion was a little odd but welcome. A bounding Astalia was ranting about energetically claiming to be a great king and a kinght. Despite being a woman, it was going to be intersting to see HOW she was even going to bypass such a feat. Jake and Saga, as Tobias looked on, saw both of them were capable of holding their own. What was more comforting was they shown scars of battle, meaning they had experience in combat.
"Well, it looks like you guys have seen worse for wear, I assume. I mean, you must have plenty of experience in fighting, right?" Tobias replied, feeling better that he wasn't tackling those slimes alone now.
"Well... We got into a fight with a Lightning Beast thing and we fought the Undead that were invading but besides that no." He scratched the back of his head. "Emersa here though has lots of fighting experience!" It would seem that they too are new to adventuring and fighting. Well, they had a little experience at least.
Tobias then realized the Undead monsters he saw out there were the same ones that invaded this place.
"Wait, so you participated in the battle out there? I saw some cleanup crews carrying bodies away...and I don't know if this is important or not...but I also saw a couple guards dragging away an Undead that was...well, I wouldn't technically say alive, but was moving quite well." Tobias replied back, now fully aware of how close he came to being included in such a fight.
"Not a problem. Lead on, I suppose." Tobias replied, now following Morgan and the others. "Word of caution, though. These slimes may be low-level, but I've read about them being quite unpredictable. One guy even reported that he swallowed one whole because he was too cocky. Just something to keep in mind."
"I see. Well, hopefully he can hold his own as well as you can. Kind of odd, though. Since you're a group, I'd thought he'd be done with his business in pub by now, wouldn't you agree?" Tobias replied back, pondering his absence.
Tobias got a good look at David, and it was quite clear from his expression that he was probably only going to listen to Morgan. He looked like some of the folk back at Norvak: always focused on work. The young chronicler just looked at him for a minute before flipping into his Monster Encyclopedia in case there was anything else about the slimes he may have missed.
"A quest? Sure, better than twinkle my thumbs" Placing his hands behind his back, David simply awaits to follow. Noticing the new guy, however, he forsakes any conversation initiation, seeing him deep in a book.
The avid book reader closed the tome as he followed the rest of the group outside, and while doing so, caught a glimpse of the shady character yet again, before disappearing once more as his eyes didn't focus enough on the appearance.
"...Well, I guess we slay some slimes. Did it say where they were located, and who was paying us? I may have a copy of my own quest log, but the bloody location got smeared somehow back on the board!" Tobias asked Morgan, wary not of David, but a potential hinderence to their quest.
"North of the Eastern exit of the city. When we come across a small cabin in the middle of the woods that's where we'll find the quest giver." He response as they leave the walls of the city and started West.
As Tobias followed them he could see that all of the corpses had been already moved, properly disposed of leaving the remnant of a gruesome visage back into more of a peaceful atmosphere. Harpies flew overhead, but they were more focused on other matters besides the group.
Yet at the back of his mind, he couldn't remove the thought that someone might be following them, even though he was trying his best not to show it.
"So...Since we're traveling together...I might as well break the ice by telling you a little bit about myself." Tobias spoke, trying to lighten up the mood. "As Morgan and most of you have already guessed, I'm from Norvak. Fair fishing town, and a decent place to learn about magic and the like. Although...I kind of joined up in the arcane because I want to learn about the world, and as it was, being defenseless was something that would greatly hinder any attempt out here."
Tobias surveyed around as he keenly listened for any noise that might warrant attention, but proceeded with his talk. "Also, I am somewhat excitable when it comes to magic items. Why, even simple things such as charms of luck fascinate me, not because of their value, but the amount of wonder such items produce. Legendary items...well, I'm not getting THAT hopeful anytime soon..."
"...Right. Good luck trying to get through laws stating males are kings and females are queens..." Tobias answered back, before whispering to Morgan, "I swear, she ALMOST acts like a King Arthurian! Are you sure she's human? Not that I'm doubtful she actually is human, it's just..."
Leyna was hiding in a nearby bush, she was covering her mouth with her hand and was watching them continue to walk. 'Alright, it's time to steal, Leyna!' she thought, readying herself to perform a 'Snatch & Dash.' Leyna quickly ran behind Astalia, quickly picked at least 12 silver coins before dashing into another bush.
"What? No, I know Astalia, she's definitely..." He said as he glanced towards her and saw something dash into the bushes next to her. "Uh... What was that?" He said, pointing towards the bushes. Just bad timing there.
"HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!!!" Tobias said, keenly aware of the act of pilfering since he had his guard up. "Fire!"
Tobias shot a small blast of fire at the spot where the intruder dashed into, as charred leaves smoked the area.
"You think you're clever, hmm? Well, I may be a novice in the arcane arts, but I can still detect trace amounts of mana being used! So come out!" Tobias calmly, yet sternly said, earning the looks of the rest of the group who readied themselves for combat.
Leyna quickly dodged the blast of fire, hiding behind a bush and climbed up into it. Leyna giggled, and ran along one of the tree's branches, hopping between a few trees "I can't believe my timing was off! I'm usually so good at this" she said, continuing to move.
"Thief class. Has to be. With quick movements like that, it's the only reason. If it was a ninja, we'd be dead without so much as blinking." Tobias spoke once more, wary about the surroundings. "Everyone, check your pockets! But be ready in case the assailant strikes again!"
'Well, I know that there's at least one of them that can use magic, and there's another with a lantern, must be magic as well' Leyna thought to herself, catching the rock that Saga threw at her. "Ooh, nice throw. But, not good enough!" she said, dropping it. Leyna then jumped down from branch to branch rapidly, picking up speed with every leap. Leyna jumped onto Morgan, pushing him to the ground before jumping back into the trees, not forgetting to pick his pocket, gaining only 6 silver coins as she didn't have enough time.
"What the?!" Leyna asked, realizing the mark which was now on her body. "You dirty caster!" she insulted him, jumping onto a tree branch which snapped under her weight. Leyna landed on her feet and began to climb onto a tree. "So, where you guys going?" she asked, sitting down on the branch and crossed her legs.
"...You're not even a real thief, are you? Must be sad, picking on scraps rather than heavier purses. Not up to the task? And no one knows your name!" Tobias said, casting a small protective barrier around his parcels. "Real theives made a name for themselves, but you? You have no guild, I reckon, seeing as how many mistakes you've made, and you only got a couple of coins before we were aware."
"I'm giving you a chance here. Give us back what we earned and we can talk...else, well, we've got our ways of tracking you down..." Tobias said, eyeing the leafy greens as constant rustling was heard.
Leyna fell from the branch, landing on her feet, she stood in front of the group "You're right... I'm not part of any thieves guild, they're so secretive. But, I do know that a real thief never hands over their own money, unless they want to. So, I will not give back what I stole" she said, turning and ran into the forest, jumping off of the tree's trunks for bursts of speed.
"What is with you, can't you just accept the fact that whatever I stole from you is gone and move on?" Leyna asked, grabbing a few stones and threw them at Morgan as she ran, admittedly, a few missing and falling to the ground before even reaching him.
"Try and run. That mark will always be on you. We will know where you are. Constantly. And I know no thief wants their presence to be known." Tobias replied, knowing full well their group couldn't match her speed.
David takes aim straight away the fleeting novice thief. His mounted wrist gums briefly, then a burst of emerald light condensation rushes out of the tip, cascading into a projectile the size of a bolt slinging straight for her.
Leyna's foot was snagged on a branch, Leyna was now hanging upside-down by her foot. She struggled to free herself, finally freeing herself, Leyna fell onto her head. "Ouch!" she said, rubbing her head, then looked around for Morgan.
Morgan was nowhere in sight... And roots would wrap around Leyna's legs and lift her upside down. It would seem she accidentally stumbled upon a Treant. She would most certainly have a difficult time freeing herself as Treant wood was extremely hard. Slowly she was approaching its mouth. As for Morgan, he was dealing with a bleeding head from a stone that was thrown from a certain someone.
Leyna began to freak out about the Treant, "Please don't eat me! I'm just skin and bones!" she said, using her sharp front teeth to bite through the Treant's branch, after a few minutes, she managed to bite through it. She fell to the ground and rolled away, as the Treant tried to stomp on her. "My best bet would be to run away from this thing," she said, turning to run away.
Tobias was finally at the scene were the culprit was at the mercy of a monster.
"You know...you kinda had this coming. Karma and all that..." The novice mage spoke, seemingly doing nothing. "I could help you out, you know, but that'd mean giving up the coin you pride your skills upon, returning the silver back to my compatriots, and I'm sure you don't want that."
(We're resuming this at sometime when there's more people, and when MekRex comes back since he is the RP who made this thread. Try to be around here around 2 pm, maybe earlier than that since MekRex got online sometime around 12ish, DNigbtShade43. Right now its like 8 am whee I am. Getting more sleep. Getting back on at 10 am or a little later than that.)
As Lenya chewed away more roots would take place and eventually wrap around the entirety of her legs. Morgan would attempt to slash the Treant but the strike didn't even scratch it. Tobia, from his research on monsters, would know that Treant wood is extremely strong... And also widely sought after since it's so strong.
"We're not just going to leave you here like this!" Morgan would think over how to defeat a Treant and remembered that they encountered one on their travels while heading to Ivorysteb. "Tobias! Can you cast fire magic on it!"
The Treant would let out a roar as the fire spreads around its body but Morgan, cleverly using his water magic, sprays the branch that Lenya was caught in. Eventually, the fire eats away at the at the base of the branch that was holding her and snaps, Morgan catching her on her way down. "Are you alright?" He asks as he backs away from the pissed and on fire Treant.
Knowing the amount the Treant wood could bring, Tobias cast Gust, blowing away the flames as having a fiery tree was no laughing matter. Although the Treant itself was still quite mad, but severely weakend thanks to the magical attack.
Leyna looked up at Morgan and sniffled, before scurrying backward "Thanks for the help and all, but I hope you know that I'm still not giving you back what I stole" she said, glaring at him, she was ready to run.
(Considering it's been burnt up, I'll say 20 silver. If it weren't it be 30 gold which 1 gold equates to 100 silver.)
"Can you not glare at me like that, we just saved your life!" He yelled at her. As for her running away, she still had the branches around her legs. The Treant would go to swing at Morgan but suddenly, out of nowhere, the Treant would be slashed in half and fall to the ground. Morgan looked around in shock as a voice called out above them.
A Fairy hovered above them with his arms crossed. It would seem that he was the one who dealt the finishing blow to the Treant. He seemed extremely strong. "Just what the hell is going on here?"
"Oh, I dunno. Chased a thief, ended up burning a profitable Treant, culprit trying to run away after saving her from said Treant, all before we got swerved around our slime quest." Tobias replied back exasperated about the whole ordeal, having been worn out from the fighting. "Apologies if we've caused you any concern."
Leyna had just begun to free herself, she could hear the fairy moving towards her, which made her freak out, so she frantically pulled and gnawed at the roots ensnaring her. 'Come on, come on' she thought, she was almost through the burnt bark of the root knowing that fully biting through it would be easy after this.
Tobias would sigh, deciding whether or not to scavenge the slain monster or not since the right to loot was the Fairy's. Deciding it was his kill, the young chronicler forgo the thought of taking the charred wood for the moment.
What intersted Tobias though was the amount of magical items on his person. His eyes showed wonder a little, as detecting magic was child's play for even the most basic of mages. But he knew the items were his, and shook it off his mind as he rested, taking in the sights before the group would continue on soon, overhearing the fruitless plea between her and the unexpected warrior.
Saga watched the scene with amusement. She couldn't help but love it when thieves get what they deserve. Of course, her tune changed when she was the thief in question, but that didn't really matter as of this moment.
"To my knowledge, you stole... What exactly did she steal?"
"Some silver." Morgan answered.
"You stole some silver which is thievery which is a crime. Now please stop acting ignorant to the fact you did do something wrong, it will just make things worse for you in the end. And no, I'm not connected to these people in anyway but due to my status of being apart of the Divine Seven, I can not overlook this crime."
The Divine Seven was a group of warriors that live in heaven, chosen by the Gods themselves. Their jobs are to handle any business the Gods ask of them to handle and protect against great evils that intend to wreak havoc and death on the world. They are considered legendary and some of the most powerful warriors that travel the planet.
This must be Belmont, the Fairy champion. He's the most recent addition to the Divine Seven after their second most powerful member retired.
Tobias could feel very powerful magic emenating from.him, but it was so cleverly concealed by him from their eyes. In fact, he might hold more surprises than a mere stoke of his blade. Wait...The Divine Seven!?! No wonder! They were regarded highly by even the most respected and powerful of acranists, both pratical and impractical alike.
"Wait. Pardon my inquisitiveness, Divine one. If you want to gain some info on the Undead, there may be a possibility." Tobias spoke, earning a heated look from the Fairy. "Look, I know this is a longshot, but I saw an Undead being taken in when I arrived to Ivorysteb. I mean, its the least we can do after helping us out on such a small matter."
The Fairy gave a sigh as Lenya ran off and looked over at Tobias. "Oh really? Well, thanks for the information. Do whatever you want with the Treant. I got a brat to catch." He said and in the blink of an eye was gone.
Turing back to the Treant, Tobias stared carving some of the better wood, (thanks to be being a magic user he created a small magic knife) although it was mostly charred somewhat, but he had a hope that the heart of the Treant was still intact. Even if the outside of the creature had burned badly, the heart might hopefully be preserved. After all, Treant Hearts were a boon to medicinists since having them around helped boost the effects of herbs and potions.
"Well, thanks for the warm welcome, guys..." Leyna said, pulling out a pouch filled with the money she stole and tossed it to them. "Here, you can have it back... In exchange for one thing," she said, blushing.
"Remember when you said that I wasn't a good thief? Well, I was wondering if... You guys could help me become better?" she said, her feet pointing inward, her hands behind her back, and a child-like smile plastered over her face.
"..." Tobias said nothing, as a decision like this may end up earning the ire of the Fairy.
Still, the purloiner had returned their money, but she did take without asking to begin with. Maybe there was some sort of way she could work off her sentence. Perhaps a conditioned monitoring might work. It wss just too indecisive for him to make a right judgement.
"If you'd wanted that, then we wouldn't be going through this." Tobias replied to the hiding figure, letting whatever happen, happen as the Fairy was more than capable of exerting absolute authority.
Although Tobias did watch closely as he was eager to see what would take place. If it was magic then Tobias could get to witness something that one of the Divine Seven can do, even if it is meager magic.
"What?!? Are you MAD???" Tobias shouted, in utter disbelief of the event. "Just what are you thinking???"
Tobias panicked for a moment before calming down again, realizing the hiccup the thief made.
"Wait a minute...Morgan's the one in control here! And you're supposed to do what he says! Don't try and rewrite logic here!" Tobias said once more, sternly aware of the almost blunder he made, looking at the thief.
"Contract magic is quite potent, yet simple enough. How strong the pact is depends on the giver's potentcy of the arcane. I've just never delved into that kind of field because...well, ordering someone against their will isn't entirely pleasant." Tobias explained briefly, before sighing. "Somehow I'm thinking a month may be quite low for a Divine Seven, so maybe you should consider yourself lucky."
"Yes, like I said. One month. After that your free to go. As for how this whole servant and master thing works; whatever he orders of you, you must do. If he asks you then you will have an option of turning him down. You also won't be able to leave his proximity. You can go away from him about a mile before an invisible force stops you and he'll know where you are at all times by simply looking at the symbol." He then looked over at Tobias.
"If I wanted I could make it for life. And bright side, at least it isn't a slave contract. As for being unpleasant, sounds like the perfect punishment."
"Perfect as it may be, it's somewhat...erm, well, it crosses the border of a gray line. However, I will concede that it is effective for a solution. And given how weak I am compared to you, I dare not speak ill of you, not when you aid those in dire need of help." Tobias replied, bowing in respect. "So thank you for your time in dealing with her. I hope the rest of your travels deal with not such an insignificant matter as this."
Saga couldn't help herself, she let out a laugh at the punishment Leyna received. She decided not to voice the thought that making someone a servant for a month for being a minor inconvenience was a tad extreme, as she was busy laughing at the thief's misfortune.
Tobias looked up a little from his bowing position and looked at Saga. While it was true that it was the best decision around, at the very most it should be treated in a respectable manner, and especially at soneone's bad luck. Anyone had these kinds of days.
(Encountered the thief, fought treant, met a Fairy Champion of the Divine Seven that I think is still in the scene, thief got a choice in regards to her little predicament, chose serving for a month for Morgan, and now she's trying to ask Morgan's name while also inquiring about her first task.)
"Yes... Is there a problem with that?" Morgan asked.
"No, just letting you know that you have around 5-10 days before it dies. That or you could get a staff made out of it and it's wood. Anyways, if you all have nothing else that needs my concern, I'll be leaving."
David's mind now groans with the prospect of an overly ranting individual, bound to question anything and everything that is to pass. He keeps to himself, the people mostly decided, mentally preparing himself for anything she might try to pull, as evidence of her thievery.
"Not if you use the correct element of magic upon it. Fire is weak to water, grass is fragile fighting fire, and water is sapped by grass. Nature is superior to grass, but is weaker still against fire." 'Tobias explained a little, pointing out the advantage of elements. "Light and Dark are polar opposites and very effective against one another, and if these slimes are everyday, then Grass or even electric type magic would work since the most common are blue slimes. I would love to continue, but my talk would just bore everyone."
(I know I said that I'd be logging off for the day, then this pops up. Here's my inventory added, original items not included: Treant Wood and heart, have 35 silver on my person (before the trip to Ivorysteb), and I think thats it besides the armguard.)
"Well. At least Morgan's sticking his neck out for her." Tobias replied, whispering to David. "Do you think the thief has Morgan under her influence? It looked that way when he looked at her after that Treant fight? Not that I question Morgan, I only question her."
"I'm not sure about this 'influencial' brand he's just marked her with. Someone so easily trying to merge with the group she just tried to rob isn't someone I'd have anywhere near me. Not unless I consider a backstab a back massage".
After running around in her armor, especially after tiring training. Astalia eventually stopped and began to breathe heavily. “Can’t!...Find!...Thief!...” She heaved as she had lost sight of...Well everyone.
Astalia gulped as she looked in the direction of the noise and walked slowly closer to it. What if it was a massive creature that would turn her into chow!?...Or maybe it could be cute...Please be cute and friendly...
Morgan would use his sword to stab the core out of the Slime, killing it. Seems like magic wasn't the only way. Morgan then looked towards Lenya. "I'd still like you to collect the slime. It could be used later."
The Slime Saga was heading towards was quite docile, just like the others.
"Fine" Leyna would say, making her way to Morgan and began to scoop the slime into the jar. She grimaced at the consistency of the slime on her fingers, "This is... disgusting" she'd say, corking the jar when she was done.
"True, but slime cores are much more valuable than the slime itself. Hence why I collect both." Tobias replied, scooping up both the slime from the first, as well as another slime core and its gooey mess from a second one defeatwd by his magic.
(Nothing really, out characters are you fighting blue slimes for a quest.)
Morgan would continue to slay Slimes. Saga, if aiming for the core, would kill it. Pretty easy work.
After a few moments of watching the egg out came a baby Rinoceroach would crawl out, it's wings flicking a bit. The baby creature had green eyes and a light blue exoskeleton. It looked up at Astalia as it sniffed the air.
"It means...we're in trouble. Not as big as a Treant, mind you, but it's got enough reason to go hostile. Likely the reason why the client sent out 15 silver for such a quest." Tobias replied, staring at the big blob which was boulder-sized, with its gooey tendrils sticking out. "But one good thing is that this slime should be vulnerable to magic still. Just don't expect it to go down upon shattering one slime core."
Leyna had turned her attention to the giant slime that Tobias was in front of, she gave the creature a disgusted look, though it paid her no mind. "I don't think I have a jar big enough for that one" she'd say.
Uh oh...Milk! Yeah! Babies need milk right?...Well...She can’t make milk so...A bottle of milk might suffice.
Astalia sat on the floor as She rummaged in her pack and grabbed a bottle Of milk! Then she uncapped it and poured it in her cupped hand. This should work!...Of course she had no clue how babies worked let alone this baby.
Meanwhile...the group was dealing with the bizarre slime, as since Morgan unsuccessfully did nothing to the slime with a physical swing of his sword as the blob was able to maneuver it's own cores to evade such techniques, albeit slowly. Leyna, by some preturbed sense of humor, found herself stuck inside the being as the creature didn't like her scent for some odd reason, odder still that it was able to mimic smelling at all. One can only guess how irritated she was about being stuck...again.
David begins shooting salvos of green projectiles at the thing, the shots themselves being vaguely piercing. he shoots few salvos, seeking to see whether his primary way of offense would be at all efficient.
