    • (First!)

He found the thugs annoying but didn't let it get to him. He went inside and looked around. "Alright Echo, come on. You guys look around this floor." He said towards Grognak, Ellen, and Rykerin. Oculus and Echo would head for any stairs that would lead up to the next floor. If not they'd head down a hallway, investigating any doors in the hallway. He thought about where the woman may be hiding and the attic made the most sense. Furthest away from the main door, can have stuff blocking the door up, give time to escape, can spy on the thugs safe from their view, etc. This was the best bet in his mind.

        Loading editor
    • “You want me to give you my hair for fruit!?” Durella grabbed her hair. “Ok, Your gone!” She was prepared to attack.

Echo followed with Oculus as they walked through the hallways heading for the attic. Things seemed decent,y well kept save for some damage to the walls.

    • After checking a door, looking to see the room empty, they keep going. He'd make sure they were alone. "I think she's in the attic. What do you think?"

        Loading editor
    • (What is she Yang from RWBY he asked for only 3-5 strands!?

        Loading editor
    • “It’s a logical conclusion, however she could be in the large room where the lord of the manor would be. A large and open room and still provides vision over the courtyards.” Echo replied.

        Loading editor
    • "Good thinking... Alright, a bit change of plans. You go to the attic, I'm going to look around for the Lord's room. It should be on the second floor. If she's not there immediately come back to me. If she is, tell her I want to talk to and bring her to me. If she refuses, try not to hurt her unless in self-defense. And if you see her getting attacked by the thugs you know what to do."

        Loading editor
    • “As you wish, take care then.” Echo nodded as they arrived at a fork in the hallway and headed off leaving Oculus alone to look for the lords room.

        Loading editor
    • Oculus watched as Echo went to find the attic before heading to the next door to check it. he continues to do this until he's given a reason to stop.

        Loading editor
    • As Oculus wandered the halls, he soon heard the shouts of multiple men along the sound of combat.

        Loading editor
    • Oculus would look towards the sound of combat, making his way over in a hurry to investigate.

    • (Monsters Like thier looks. Lilim really like their looks. Duh.)

As Oculus made his way the sound soon died out, but he was soon following a red carpet. A bit battered but it seemed to lead to a room.

        Loading editor
    • He'd follow the battered carpet to the door and open it, his other hand resting on one of his twin hooks.

        Loading editor
    • As he opened the door, the first sight he saw was the ten gang members, all of them on the floor. And up ahead was a woman, with long golden hair, some golden apparel and fair white skin. She was not wearing a whole lot, but she had a regal air arround her. “Your blood is not even worth staining my floors you damn mongrols...” She spoke clearly annoyed at the sight until she noticed Oculus. “Another one?...” She narrowed her eyes.

        Loading editor
    • He was caught off guard by her outburst Siris:Woah,Chill!C-Can I siphon some of your energy then,I-I'll be sure to help you replenish it and thensome later!I-I'll even throw in the edible arrangement too!

        Loading editor
    • Oculus scanned the floor, seeing the ten gang members on the floor, a hidden smile forming on his face. "I see you handle yourself well... Mind if we had a talk?" He said, keeping his hand on his sword. While he had no intention to fight right away he'd be ready if she decides to initiate combat.

        Loading editor
    • “Talk?...You wish to talk to me after accepting that pig faces quest? Are you a fool or simply an idiot?...” She asked putting her hands on her hips. “I’ll give you one minute to give me a reason not to put you down.”

        Loading editor
    • "I'm just trying to get the facts straight at the moment. The quest said unknown killer and that it's former occupants been killed. He himself said that you chased him off and that you were his servant but the quest, as I said, unknown killer. So can you tell me exactly what's going on here? Why you chased him off and all..."

    • Durella thought for a minute and called off her attack. “I’ll think on it, well I have fun things to do. This talk has bored me, so I’m gonna go have fun.”

The woman gave an audible tsk. “I killed everyone but him because he ran the moment when he sensed trouble. Why I did it is of no concern to a complete random mongrel like yourself. I do not need to waste my breath answering your questions.” She replied.

        Loading editor
    • Oculus gave a sigh. "So be it. Guess I'm going need to knock you down a peg or two." He said, drawing his swords.

        Loading editor
    • The woman began to laugh. “You should have turned back when you could mongrel! You must value your life so little if you care for the money. So be it, know your place.” She spoke standing still with her hands still on her hips with an arrogant smirk.

    • "No, I just have confidence in my skill." He said as he slashes the air in front of him but as he did his grappling hook shot out and wrapped around her legs and he gave it a good pull, tripping her onto her back. He'd then run forward, preparing to attack.

    • Grognak:I hear conflict,Follow me! He would say as he headed towards the source of conflict Axe in hand

        Loading editor
    • Ellen quickly ran to follow behind Grognak.

For the woman as he tripped her she gave an annoyed groan as four golden circles appeared in the air above her as a multitude of weapons flew out from them with surprising speed at him. “You will regret this mongrel!” The woman stated.

    • “You want to die so badly? Fine then...” Lena stood back up as six more portals appeared in the air behind her. “Then let’s see how long you last against a constant bombardment! Die mongrel!” She put her hands on her hips as ten Weapons flew at Oculus.

        Loading editor
    • Oculus would throw down a flash bomb, blinding the room. In that short span of time, he closed the distance, avoiding the weapons and slashed at her side.

        Loading editor
    • As he slashed at her side, a yellow barrier flashed across her skin as he impacted a magical barrier. The woman who was blinded for a moment, she soon recovered her sight and he was now much closer. The portals vanished as they repositioned around them. “Fool...” She narrowed her eyes as another barrage of weapon shots were prepared to strike at at him as the woman simply walked backwards to get some minor distance.

        Loading editor
    • But strangely... His weapon cut through the barrier. Not by a lot, only giving her a slight cut on her side which bled a bit. He'd roll out of the way of the positioned portals and get back onto his feet. "A magic barrier... Great... How do I get through it..." He thought to himself.

        Loading editor
    • (I thought we agreed not to bullshit our way through things last episode)

        Loading editor
    • (There's an explanation to why he was able to do this. Besides, the cut isn't serious at all.)

        Loading editor
    • (And even if I were bullshitting, at least it isn't your level of bullshit.)

        Loading editor
    • As she walked to a new position, the portals once again repositioned as she suddenly felt a small sting on her side. “You got through!? You damn mongrel!” She raised her hand in the air as the ten portals had a brighter glow to them. “Die!” She started as the ten portals began to open fire, however this time they continued to fire more than one salvo.

        Loading editor
    • (I'm sure that explanation is going to be Totally reasonable

        Loading editor
    • (That was before the agreement now is what matters)

End of discussion.)

        Loading editor
    • Oculus, pretty sure she was pissed now, threw a smoke bomb which filled the room.

        Loading editor
    • (It's not about comparisons it's about the agreement that what was done in the past is wrong and we shouldn't repeat the mistakes of the past and not do things like it again)

        Loading editor
    • The woman narrowed her eyes as she surrounded herself with nine portals. If she can’t see him approaching she would simply fire in all directions blindly. So she did just that, fire blindly as the portals shifted around her. “You can’t hide forever fool! One will get a lucky hit!” She stated

        Loading editor
    • (And I did say we all stay on reasonable levels The thing you did may be small now but it's probably going to get out of hand in the future if left unchecked and I am reminding you to not cross the line like I did in the past)

        Loading editor
    • (Also how is he able to see through the smoke he created to dodge?)

        Loading editor
    • (Dude, just drop it. I don't plan on making Oculus a god killing beast or anything stupid. So quit your worrying. I've been reasonable this entire time and I don't plan on becoming unreasonable. As for the smoke, he remembered where the door was.)

Oculus was a good distance away in the hallway. Echo and the other should be here any second. With that barrier, he was going to have a tough time winning. "Maybe she'll destroy the room and have it collapse on herself... Then again, I was able to get through the barrier. Maybe it isn't that strong?" He thought.

        Loading editor
    • (Smoke bombs are used for concealing an escape and only used for attacks when you have thermal vision or another way to see otherwise you shoot/Swing randomly until you hit them because you have to memorize where they are but that only works if they don't move)

        Loading editor
    • (Yes... And he made an escape...)

        Loading editor
    • As the smoke began to clear, the woman stopped her assault. “Gone...Figures...” She spoke in frustration however did not give chase.

Soon enough Echo would arrive first. “I heard the sound of your voice, are you unharmed?” She asked.

Not really gone, she could see them in the hallway. "Yeah, I'm not unharmed. Though she has a magic barrier around her so I'm not sure how helpful I'll be in this situation. Any ideas on how to handle her? She also can summon weapons from portals..."

        Loading editor
    • Soon Grognak and the rest showed up Grognak:We're here, what's the details of the situation?

        Loading editor
    • “Well...A barrier can only take so much damage. As for the portals...We simply have to Be on extreme alert. Anyways, lethal or non lethal sir?” Echo asked.

Ellen of course prepared her sword and listened.

        Loading editor
    • "She has a magic barrier around her and can summon portals that shoot swords and other weapons. I'm not sure how useful I'll be in this situation..." He then looked from Grognak towards the woman. "God, I hate magic..." He said with an audible sigh. Looks like the Ellen found something in common with Oculus.

"Non-lethal. I still wanna hear her side of the story." He said, putting away his swords and getting out his staff.

        Loading editor
    • Echo nodded as she created an energy blade. For Ellen upon hearing him she nodded. “I agree, magic is a cheap thing.” She commented. However as they were preparing, the golden haired woman noticed the group now and walked in the doorway to the large room. She recognized this threat.

“So, running away to get more of your goons?...It won’t matter...You see you damned idiot...Your all in a hallway, and there is little room to maneuver!” She stated as all ten portals appeared in front of her.

Echo suddenly ran in front of everyone. “Behind me! Barrier mode!” Echo stated as she raised her hand in front of her.

    • As everyone got behind Echo, a bright blue barrier formed in front of her as she began to advance. “I will close the distance! Be prepared everyone!” Echo spoke as her visor flashed green.

        Loading editor
    • As Oculus fired, he had impacted some of the portals in front of the woman. But instead of shattering or passing through them...They entered into the portal...Of course with ranged fire the woman repositioned the portals closer together to protect herself as Echo still advanced, a bit slower as the barrage was now concentrated.

    • Finally arriving on scene after hearing the sounds of combat, Rykerin got to the others taking shelter behind Echo's shield in the hallway. "I take it you found her, and she's not cooperative." Rykerin commented to Oculus. He was keeping an eye on the right side of the shield and the wall. Once there was enough room to slip past he would raise his own shield and run into the room in an attempt to draw fire and perhaps get a lucky hit in as he would be flinging bolts of energy as he moved.

As the golden woman was recovering, Morishige was standing between all of them and her. She wore a white and blue dress with a large hat on her head. “My greetings. I’m terribly sorry but I’m afraid I’m gonna be a bit forceful.” She gave a small Curtsy.

    • "Who curtsys in the middle of a battle?" Rykerin muttered before firing off two bolts of electricity at Morishige. He then rushed her, drawing his sword, once he got in range he would take a swing at one of her arms.

    • Fleur would begin to look for the entrance to another room, as this one seemed to be rather mundane.

    • Morishige spun around the two bolts of electricity with a surprising level of grace. As he closed in on her with his sword, as he took a swing something invisible blocked his blow.

However instead of a hard counterattack, the woman quickly grabbed his wrist and spun around quickly before throwing him at Oculus.

Ellen went for a two-handed downward strike at her left side while while Oculus went with his hook like attacks on her right side, not too surprisingly the two met an invisible force. This time however Echo shouted. “I saw it for a brief second! Invisible wings!” She stated.

“Oh dear, my Ace was discovered.” Morishige commented. Of course she backed off knowing that she can only currently throw one person and retreated back to the golden woman man who was almost recovered.

“Good enough, as much as it pains me to rely on anyone else I don’t have a choice...” She stated as a few portals appeared behind her. “Come now Lena, we can have a duet. It’s not all bad my most golden, beautiful and powerful summoner.”

This praise made lena grin pridefully. “Of course, It can’t be helped then. I will crush them while you support me.” She spoke while the Gryphon on her shoulder chimed in. “Be careful of the man that snuck up on Lena, and that woman in the back is observing up to provide them with your skills!”

    • Echo nodded as she grabbed the pistol Oculus threw to her.

As the weapons piled up across the floor, a smirk crossed on Lena’s face. Her barrier took the arrow, as for Morishige she gave a surprised gasp as she was struck.

“Morishige! It’s time we withdraw!” Lena stated as Morishige gave a small Curtsy and turned around. “Pride Of the Lion...” Morishige spoke as her palm slammed the wall of the manor breaking the wall as she quickly lifted Lena and leapt through the opening as every Weapons Lena threw began to glow. “Detonation! Everyone get down to minimize injury!” Echo stated as she dove to the ground on a relatively safe spot.

    • As the explosion wracked the mansion, the two former occupants decided to steal some horses that the band of thugs had. Of course they had met with the wrath of Lena and had weapons sticking out of them when the year tried to attempt to attack her. “Tolerable work Morishige! I am not going to waste my time on even more mongrols popping out of nowhere!” Lena stated.

“Well, this dance was cut short. Let us hurry before they can give chase.” Morishige nodded as the two took off on horseback. The thugs around the manner of course gave chase on their horses.

    • Ellen took his hand. “I’m fine. That random ice might have prevented any injury at least.” She replied.

"Well, that's your opinion," the Hinezumi butts in, earning her a seething glare from Mera.

"Honestly, that sounds like a time I'd love to live in too," Ruby says with a warm grin.

Both ladies smile at each other and the Hinezumi just rolls her eyes and asks Anastasia, "Can you believe that? Them wanting to live in a time when most Demon Lords were ruthless killers?"

Then again, he had a feeling they were going to want to fight or something stupid.

    • "I have things to do still." He said, heading behind the large rock and a few moments later comes back out fully dressed. Well, no more of that for Fil for now. "Fifi, ready to head back home." Well, Fil could go along with Markus to find out where he lived but she could probably probe Riona for that information along with anything else she was willing to divulge.

    • There was also something to note about Markus as he walked off towards the rock. A large burn scar going across his back. Like a flaming log fell on him.

“I’ll stay here a bit longer, these springs are doing wonders for me.” Fil spoke.

      Riona of course waved. “Later.”

Confused with how fast Anastasia exited the jail, Ruby follows her out and trails after her into the forest. They come to the bridge crossing and Ruby stops. She watches the water run down the stream, reminiscing about when she and Mera captured Majd those few nights ago.

“Okay! Julia will keep Fifi company!” Fifi smiled.

    • Looking around the market, there was little interest of note. Simple vendors and shopkeeps all around.

Chapter 1: Calm before the storm

      Imperial Base Camp

Standing at attention was every soldier deployed to this region. 5,000 souls, grossly outnumbered. However what they lacked in numbers they made up for with firepower, technology and training.

“Attention everyone! As your Major. I Arrogance under the command of our glorious Emperor has finally prepared the stage for our operations!” She stated as her fellow Hunters stood in front of her.

“We Hunters will lead you brave soldiers to victory, as our mission states we will safeguard all of mankind against itself and all non-human threats! Tommorow we begin our light operations...Our great and loyal lieutenant Brakks will lead the forward elements to cause a mess of things. Afterwards the great Iron Commander will crush all resistance with our armored formations and the rest of you will begin mop up operations!”

Ruby only watches Anastasia as she goes on a small rampage releasing her pent up aggression from the jailhouse. She observes the area to see if she could find the Beelzebub that she shot with her crossbow several nights ago, but she doesn't find her. If she did the first thing she would do is apologize to her.

Ruby continues on until she reaches their old camp, but she comes upon a sight that greatly displeases her.

A Gyoubu Danuki is navigating their camp gathering whatever items are present. She can see the handle of her bastard sword sticking out of the top of the Danuki's backpack and Mera's illusion staff strapped to her side.

Behind the Danuki is a Minotaur keeping watch with a greatsword draped across her back and a pistol holstered at her leg.

Angry, Ruby leaps out in front of the thieves and points to the Danuki demanding, "What's the big idea!? All that stuff you're carrying belongs to my friend and me!"

The Danuki grins at Ruby and shrugs her shoulders replying with, "Finders keepers, this place looked abandoned when we arrived."

The Minotaur casts Ruby a fierce glare and reaches for her blade.

"Not with our stuff you aren't!" Ruby snaps, referring more to herself and Mera rather than Anastasia.

She leaps for her sword which prompts the Danuki to duck under her. The Minotaur takes out her pistol and fires a DRS round at Ruby. Ruby could feel the round whiz past her tail, but that doesn't deter her from trying to retrieve her friend's and her own gear from the looters.

The Danuki is too distracted by Ruby to notice Anastasia creeping toward her position. This isn't the same case for the Minotaur however, who snaps her attention to the sneaky Lizardman and fires a second round from her pistol at her.

"Give me my stuff back!" Ruby demands as she tries to slash at the Danuki who barely manages to step out of range. The Lizardman attempts a drop kick, but the Danuki is able to sidestep it and reach into her pouch. She takes out a small brown metal ball and hurls it on the ground. There is a noisy *pop* followed by a hiss as smoke starts to pour out of the ball and fill the area.
