Monster Girl Encyclopedia Wiki

This wiki will close in two weeks (Wednesday November 24). Fandom is removing wikis on topics that contain large amounts of sex, nudity and/or fetish material. Even if the wiki itself is kept "clean", we are still unable to host it.

The two week's pause is so you can look for a new host and copy your content there.

I'm sorry for the bad news -- Sannse

I have been on and off of interest in this wiki for several years now. My earliest memory was when the nurarihyon was first revealed but not translated, in april 2017. But I believe I may have been reading the pages since 2015 or 16, if not earlier. Last year I decided to make an account just for the convenience and a few months ago I decided to take a stab at writing some material (if you want something done, sometimes you just have to do it yourself).

While the monsters themselves are pretty appealing, I find narratives to be the most appealing way to explore these monsters. I want to read, or as the case may be, write myself, stories about these monsters and how they interact with each other, with people, in settings both within the world and outside. The neighboring website, touchfluffytail, has a number of things that might make it more appealing, such as a larger userbase and a tagging system for stories. But I find some aspects of the tagging system to be a little too generous. This site might tag a story with a monster that is mentioned in passing, or has a minor role, and to me that is not enough to say a monster is part of a story (although it does work by one definition). To me, I want to see stories which FEATURE said monster, which to me means that the monster is either a primary or secondary character, with speaking lines, and ideally, explores some aspect of that monster's behavior or personality. To that end I'm always looking to write with monsters that a) I like, and b) feel underappreciated or underrepresented.

If you find yourself reading this page, and are interested in helping increase the amount of material for a given species (you know, if you enjoy writing and like that monster) then I have here a list of what I believe to be 50 species of monsters from this wiki that are noticeably underrepresented in stories. This is potentially impossible to quantify exactly, so I have a few guidelines for how I chose these species.

  1. I am looking for stories that feature these species as primary or secondary characters
  2. I am looking at a variety of sites, including this wiki, touchfluffytail and pastebin, though it's not particularly reasonable to conduct an exhaustive search of any of them. Even though I've tried.
  3. Many of these species I may be able to think of 1 or even 2 pieces that feature them. Maybe one that I wrote myself. I'd like more. They're not necessarily devoid entirely of content. Just very little.
  4. Monsters that I suspect or know to be highly popular just aren't going to be here. Hellhound, manticore, holstaur, etc. A lot of the species that I do list are more recent species from say, the last 5 years. Additionally, this description was written in December 2020. We saw 3 species this year (creeping coin, wonderworm, bogey), which was still huge compared to the single monster we saw last year (ocelomeh). So in addition to whichever species I list, include anything introduced in 2020 or later.

The following are monsters that I am highly partial towards. I would like to see them featured in more stories

cursed sword, genie, gnome, karakasa-obake, living armor, medusa, owl mage, slime carrier, soldier beetle, white horn,

The following are monsters that I am particularly disinterested in, and therefor have not tried to look and see whether they have any material written about them

baphomet, cait sith, cancer, cockatrice, cu sith, humpty egg, kakuen, living doll, ratatoskr,

The remaining are monsters that I just haven't seen a lot of writing about, if any at all

atlach-nacha, banshee, barometz, basilisk, bunyip, charybdis, chimera, cupid, damphir, dorome, dragon zombie, dryad, echidna, giant slug, greenworm/papillon, hinezumi, kamaitachi, kappa, keijorou, kesaran-parasan, kitsune-bi, leanan sidhe, myconid, queen slime, roper, sylph, tritonia, troll, trumpart, umi osho, unagi-joro,
