MGE X CONTACT
I do not own MGE, it is owned by Kenkou Cross. The CONTACT verse is my creation and exclusively my sandbox to play in.
Earth, Early 21st Century
The United Earth Federation, a unified planet wide Supercountry proved yet again its people's determination and will to survive. It all started 15 years ago with the event that changed Humanity's path forever, also known as The First Contact. That single event had Humanity put to the hardest test, an ordeal that brought a series of falls and rises. But despite being always the underdog the Human race has proven their sheer survival drive is their greatest power.
The last war, fought against an overwhelmingly powerful foe left their world scarred and the already dwindled populace almost completely eradicated.
The Vaghar Kel, a hostile alien species proved to be more than a match for the extremely advanced yet young UEF. The country or more accurately the World seemed it finally achieved its well deserved peace, a shift in the positive direction from its history. From the constant wars between Humans themselves that seemed it will go on eternally, a perpetuum mobile designed by the very Humanity since time immemorial, and finally the Medoran invaders that greatly helped in the unification of the Earth. Then, about three years ago, when things started to look bright and optimistic this new threat descended on the world enveloping it in a dark veil of death, sorrow and misery.
The first UEF - Vaghar Kel war three years ago lasted for about 7 months with over a billion dead or either missing Earthlings, many large and prominent urban centers across the globe, once symbols of Humanity's might were reduced to mere post apocalyptic mass graveyards.
The two clashing forces were about equal in technology and development, although they were as different as darkness and light. While the UEF used the mostly conventional, mechanical technology, the Vaghar Kel had organic tech. But what set them apart and turned the tide of the war in their favor was their Constant Altering Device, a scary tool that can be used as a terrifying weapon of mass destruction, even if was not designed for that purpose.
Humanity was able to push back the enemy despite their huge advantage, the ominous "Reaper device" as they code named it and after many hard battles they were able to drive the invaders from Earth.
The second, recent UEF - VK skirmish was a blitz attack by the so called 'Crabheads' as they were also dubbed by the UEF's Space Command, a cowardly act of a sudden invasion despite of the non aggression treaty. They were attacking indiscriminately with their massive fleet wave after wave. What's curious, they somehow managed to bypass the UEF's Long Range Teleporting Array, a web of relay stations equipped with long range signal boosters and modular storage devices along with teleporting arrays and various state of the art sensors. The whole Network of these LRTA's worked using a macro command to dematerialize cargo or people that were to be sent to the closest unit in the network from the point of origin, once forwarded, the first LRTA would store the cargo in form of digital data temporarily inside the storage module device then forwarding it to the next unit untill its eventual destination. That way the UEF had a near instantaneous way to sent troops, weapons and gear when they were needed at any given time. The Vaghar Kel had a head start without having to worry the Earth's counter to their "Reaper device" will arrive in time, same as many of the soldiers stationed elsewhere.
They also somehow managed to find a way to jam both of the Earth's teleportation systems, energy weapon fire frequency and most importantly they learned the location of the second site where the Reapers counter was being developed, the outpost Eden. The whole thing was shady, but with the pressing matter of the Crabheads' never ending assaults, the investigation was put on hold. By the time the the matter was addressed, many of the evidences and info about the situation simply vanished.
The other strange occurrence was the sudden alienation of the UEF's allies, especially the most advanced and since then essential to the UEF's development, the Felinus, a highly advanced race of cat like people where only females fought on the battlefield and The Consortium, an alliance of several alien races, trading technology only to their closest allies.
The timely intervention of the UEF-SC's top unit, the 7th Augmented Tactical Unit the Earth would be lost by now. The UEF barely managed to hold off the invaders, but they managed to gain foothold over several locations of the planet. With both of the sides severely weakened the battles were fought more crudely, more savagely. Each hour counted for both, for the Earthlings victory meant their planet would no longer be terraformed as they drive every single Vaghar Kel off world, for the Vaghar Kel, every day they manage to hold meant reinforcements would eventually come and they would finished what they started, overtaking the planet and killing all indigenous life on it.
Now, more than two months from the sudden assault, both sides battle worn and tired kept fighting this war that seemed it just didn't want to come to an end.
A man was sitting on top of a crumbled house, looking towards the enemy encampment on the horizon as he waited for his team to assemble in a hastily set FOB near one of the known Vaghar Kel nests on the planet, just about 30 kilometers east of Tokyo. The technicians rushed around to prepare everything needed for the 5 man team that will enter the nest to open an attack route to the main force.
Their mission: Disable the jammers and any shield emitters and AA emplacements inside.
Some exceptionally brave reporters were present in the FOB despite the danger being in the vicinity of the VK nest was very real and an attack could happen at any given moment. The man sitting alone on top of the rubble singing along the music player from his Troop Transport Craft (TTC). They were not allowed to approach the man, who seemed to be the center of their interest.
In the meantime, another TTC was on its final approach on the FOB's provisory LZ, a decently large parking lot with some collapsed buildings from the back and some debris being placed as a decent substitute for sand bags.
The man sitting on top of his craft barely glanced at the landing TTC, not turning his head to follow it nor stopping singing, yer he already knew who the people inside it were.
The UEF's craft finally touched down just behind the Commander and several individuals emerged from the it . Except a Remora AI Escort Craft and several UAVs the two Troop Carriers were the only aerospace capable crafts on the scene. The people looked at the machines on the runway, inspecting the state of their only way of quick support for this mission
"...indestructible, determination that is incorruptible. From the other side a terror to behold. Annihilation will be unavoidable. Every broken enemy will know that their opponent had to be invincible..." he sang with his fist extended toward the enemy held territory, when a voice suddenly interrupted him,
"With all due respect, sir, your singing is as terrible as always!"
The newly elected Supreme Commander quickly bolted on his feet and turned towards the voice addressing him.
The three man and a woman now stood and saluted their former unit leader, now the commander of the whole Space Command.
"At ease dammit, we bled, grieved and kicked ass together, no formalities. That's an order!" growled their superior visibly not pleased at his comrades, his brothers and sisters treated him like another higher up pencil pusher.
"Sorry man, it's out of habit."Josh 'Smiley' Simmons, the American teammate chuckled at Commander Horvat's reaction.

A/N: I only updated the story a tiny bit, as I lost my phone few days ago and the full chapter on the SD card (From now I'm keeping at least two copies of my documents on different sources). I at least reread it for typos and made few small edits here and there, however.
