Ohaiyo gozaimasu, minna-san! Jeiel here. I'm an aspiring writer in this site, so I hope to get along with everyone on my first story!
This is my first series debut on the world of Monster Girls, featuring a different kind of situation unheard of in the realm of Mamonos. I apologize for some grammatical errors (and misunderstood points, hope ya get it, the writing's anime-style), but in a nutshell, it's got that modern-feel, and a hero shrouded in mystery. Hahaha. Hope you get to enjoy it and read for more, about Jarence Yozama and the beginning of his wacky misfortune.. *crash*
---Mr. Jeieeeeeeel!! WHere did you put the outline for the SlimeGirl you wanted me to draw?? I kinda spilled the ink again....
-That's my intern artist, Jerome. Kinda lika a wart who grew up as your cousin. He seldom listens to me. Don't mind him.
AAAARGGH!! How many times do I have to tell you, not to pass through the hallway? Can't you read a 'Slippery Floor sign when you see one?? I'm making my story here!
Jerome: Gomenasai deshita!! *walks away then crashes again* OOOOFF!!
Ugh... This'll go on all week.
Speaking of a week, here we go...
DAY 1--- TIME: UNCONFIRMED
Talk about waaay bad luck. I had just woken up from a long, peaceful slumber, a splitting headache rocking my head. I must’ve bumped into a boulder as I slept, because after ten terrible minutes had passed, the pain lingered, throbbing repeatedly. I had a sinking feeling it would go on for hours. I gingerly reached out to grab the edge of my desk to prop me up. Nothing. I stretched some more. Happened to wrap my fingers on another thing. Something long and scaly. Like a snake.
Odd.
SNAKE!!?? My eyes flew open. Indeed in my hands was a green-scaled serpent, its ugly triangular head rearing to strike. It hissed in fury and I was lucky to toss it away before it could sink its fangs on my skin. It slid off beyond reach, but then a salty spray of water hit me by surprise. Temporarily blinded, I scrambled to my feet, still disoriented. Seconds after my vision cleared up, I stifled the urge to curse out loud.
WHAT THE F*?!
I wasn’t exactly at my room back home. Apparently, I was flat on top of a rock, on a white-sanded coastline stretching on for miles, where pieces of metal hulls and sheets were strewn next to my ‘bed’, rolling along the surf, all certain signs of shipwreck. Below and in front of where I discovered myself, hummed the vast expanse of the sea, spanning across the horizon in its deep blue glory. Crests of sea foam crashed ceaselessly on chiseled lime stones poking out of the waves. Coconut trees grew as far as the eye can see, beside clumps of plants I’ve never seen before in my life, and almost hidden from plain sight a few kilometers from where I was, stood a forest of lush greenery, echoing with the cries of unknown beastlies.
Just to be sure, I rubbed my eyes. No go. I yelled; not a single person responded, except the caws of passing seabirds in the morning air.
Ah biscuits. This ain’t a nightmare.
The inevitable: I’m alone, stranded on an unknown island.
To make things worse, I can’t recall how I got here or what happened before I woke up on this place.
The scattered ship remains were a definite clue, alright. I sat amiably and made a random guess. “Maybe I ended up here after a major sea storm. Or, maybe the ship I was on collided with an iceberg..”
What is this, Titanic?
I scoffed at the thought, but the possibilities were endless.
My headache immediately spiraled into torment, firing a series of repeated spasms. I clung onto another jutting rock fearing I’d faint. I’m starting to think this isn’t just your normal ‘bump on the head’.
One thing’s for sure, I have got to find a way outta here. Fast.
I stood up and began to salvage whatever I could deem handy. The wreckage didn’t prove much use. There were much more ship parts than rations floating around, which posed a problem considering the fact I need to build up my strength once I start making myself a life raft. Occasionally, I’d get to pick up what looks like food, but it’d turn out to be seaweed, a piece of cloth, a doorknob (I don’t know how’d that get here), some strings, cluttered utensils, or in my case, an angry prawn that bit me hard on the finger and escaped before I could ponder on how to cook it.
Climbing up the rock again, I stared at the tinted-blue sky, tucked meters away from the rim. The sight of water made me miserable, so I strained not to catch a hint of it. It was obvious it might take days, or even years, before I could be rescued.
TSK.
How helpless can I get, besides being stranded in the middle of nowhere? I groaned in frustration.
“Please, somebody tell me something that makes sense.” I uttered loudly, wanting a soul to hear my plea. I imagined that would be nontheless useless. I readied to move out once more.
“…”
“..”
“You look like you’re in quite a bind, huh, cutie?”
“WHA---! “
I heard it. Someone definitely called out to me. I spotted a streak of blue----
And…. There was no one there.
Huh….. Was I starting to imagine things because I was hungry? I slapped myself on both cheeks to focus. Wrong move. A migraine exploded from within. I clenched my fists trying to stay afloat, and found control. Snap outta it, Jarence. Back to survival. You must be in over your---
“You know, you’d have better chances for food if you ventured into Grimm Forest.”
“WHOAA!!” I was so startled by that crystal-clear voice I fell on my back against the cold surface.
“Hee hee.. you seem so hopeless indeed…”
Flat on the floor, I saw mounted above me was a shadow, all menacing and mean-looking. The sunshine peeked behind its shoulders, blocking my view. I couldn’t get a proper glimpse, save for the inexplicable noises. Wet, sloshing sounds were coming directly from it.
What the heck? My eyes tightened, trying to see better. As the glimmer of daylight faded, I thought I forgot to breathe after what I witnessed. The shadow was a cute girl. OR…what appeared to be a girl.
Believe it or not, from head to toe, she was draped in viscous bluish slime, heaving up and down without rest as if her entire body were breathing along. The slime fell further downward and ended in a puddle underneath, one that never seemed to dry up. Her long flowing hair, flushing cheeks, rounded eyes, flimsy arms, slender legs and bodily features, seemed like they were infused with the gooey mess…Or it could be they ARE a part of the goop.
At closer inspection, it wasn’t only the body. Even ornaments and clothing she wore were of slime. A pair of pins in the shape of the letter ‘O’ nestled neatly on the top of her braided tresses, and she sported a reserved, elegantly-worn nurse’s uniform, buttoned tight around her bouncy bosom (which was unnervingly ready to pop open, revealing ---- …Don’t make me say it)
At that moment, blood gushed from under my nose. In utter panic, I crawled away from her range and clamped it shut to stop the bleeding. Crimson liquid continued to course down my hands and stained the ground near my feet. I highly expected the goo-girl to be disgusted. I wouldn’t blame her if she would. Ever since I was a kid, my nose bled whenever I saw something sensual, and girls always took great pains not to meet me in the school hallway because they thought I was a pervert. Instead, she took one glance at me and giggled. “Y-Y-You think this is funny?!” I said, half-angry, half unsure of what to react on how she didn’t mind my embarrassed state. Somehow, that response wasn’t what I had in mind. “Why wouldn’t it be, cutie?” She continued to giggle. Her curves jiggled as she spoke in an eloquent manner. I gawked and spewed another round of red stuff. Man, is her atmosphere giving me a nosebleed. I’m losing blood by the minute. More importantly, is she calling me ‘cute’?
A smile crept on her delicate-looking face. “You know, it’s not usual that I get to see human men in a desperate state of affairs. “ “Oh yeah, you WISH.” I snarled. She buried her face in her goo hair, eyes flashed like sapphire gems. “What ARE you BLUSHING ABOUT?” I realized I was surprisingly calm, not to mention, jumpy, talking to her. It must be bonkers to think I’m used to this type of conversation, considering the fact that she was a ------- How could I put it bluntly?
“Who… are you?” (Maybe I should’ve said ‘what’ instead) “Who, me?” The girl asked with a mischievous grin. She must’ve thought the question is nothing new to her. “I’m a Slime, silly.” For a moment there, I was unable to make a comeback. “Slime??” I could hardly believe my ears. I’ve only heard of creatures called ‘slimes’ from RPGs, and they look nothing like people. Now a girl made of goo comes ranting she’s one. “As in, a slime monster?”
Instead of answering, she sank into a massive pool of gunk. I mouthed the word ‘WHOA’ as I leapt to my feet. Sweat oozed from the sides of my brow and trickled down my neck. I couldn’t run. Fear had already gripped my entire being. For the first time in my teenage life, I was rooted on the spot, and none of my functions were springing into action.
The gunk-that-was once-a-girl rippled thrice. It was, in ways, similar to water, but thicker and more gel-like. It pulsed to life, snaking soundlessly towards my direction faster than an average sprinter. In horror, I watched as it fashioned itself and reformed into the girl, nurse uniform and all, with not a single flaw present on how she appeared. She smiled, as if to say it was normal, then embraced me tight with her slimy wet arms.
“That’s me, alright.” Her wispy breath caused me to shudder. I wanted to push her away, to escape this mess, yet she held fast. Her grip imprisoned me like a tightly-bound vise. Shaking her off was clearly impossible even if I were to use force. Her hands pried down my chest, but I clutched them in place before she could go any deeper. Her bust pressed on my coarse skin, and they were solid enough to pass as the real deal. I made a strangled yelp.
If only I had a weapon… a darn weapon!
A wet object coursed down my nape. I dared to turn my head. She was slurping up the dripping sweat off my skin with her tongue, face reddened in delight. I screamed in embarrassment.
And as if that wasn’t the only thing going awry.. A hot tingling sensation seethed from where she hugged her arms. Hot, and in the same time, pleasant. Lustfully pleasant. Perverse thoughts started popping into mind. I shook them out of my system, but they kept coming back to haunt me like a nightmare.
What is going on here?!
“What are--you even… doing??” I struggled to ask, words coming out feeble. The crippling feeling was eating away my speech. “Can’t you tell? I’m feeling you, cutie.”
The slime undulated, as if responding to her growing excitement. She might be ready to engulf me in a heartbeat, like all slime monsters do in games.
“I find that.. disagreeable.” (Can she even be reasoned with?)
“It’s because I find you attractive. Is it wrong?” “It is when the situation’s turning ugly. Can you… please--let go?” I tensed as I sensed movement. The slime girl’s rubbery body extended, and she and I locked stares. She stuck her tongue out and made a face. “Boor.”
In times like these, I thank my lessons on courtesy. The girl‘s grip on me loosened. I let out a sudden gasp for air. She turned into glop and back to girl-form a few feet away, pouting. At least the feeling’s gone. Time to use the power of speech. “Lighten me up on the situation, will you, miss---“ “Sebyl.” “Ok, Sebyl…” I repeated, following her lead. Her brooding curved into a smile as I soon as I said her name. “Where exactly am I?” “At Gilfel, domain of the Slime Mamono. My kind.” She replied serenely, like memorizing a poem. “U—huh.” How convenient. More riddles for this web of intrigue.
Mamono.. The term sounds vaguely familiar.. Is it?
PING. Headache. Oh, I swear, all I get from thought processing are countless headaches.
“I know what you’re thinking, cutie.” Sebyl ‘s voice snapped me out of trance. She snuck closer when I spaced out, and now our noses barely met. I drew back a bit, swallowing hard, but stood my ground hiding a twinge of concern. I didn’t want her to notice me thinking ‘she can probably sense fear’. “You want to leave this place, don’t you?” “My thoughts exactly.” I answered modestly. One of the things I’m not good at is to hide secrets, so I find it useless to lie to her, or to any girl this close in particular. “I have a raft to make, and a life to return to.” She pulled herself away. Shook her head. “Forget it. You can’t go anywhere.”
“Because… you won’t let me?” She tilted her head animatedly. Did that mean a no?
She turned towards the seascape. The waves continued to roll, unabated and undisturbed. She began to stir. Motioned her slime to the very edge of the rock, moving in a fashion similar to running water. Without showing a hint of command, her right hand went liquid, then transformed into a slingshot.
To be honest, she was amazing. Her body is vaguely see-through, and I could make out a dim image of the sun high on the sky by looking at her. Plus, she is a living, breathing mass of gel. She could assume it to form in ways she wanted it. I’m sure people would die to see her on the mainland. If I could get back, that is.
I shut my trap now. She seemed to be planning something. “Because of this.” She wanted me to watch. She had a picture of seriousness written all over I couldn’t disagree.
She fired. A pebble launched into the air, gliding smoothly across the heavens in a whizzing noise, almost disappearing from view. I imagined it would plop into the water unnoticed. Seconds later, an echoing crackle rumbled in the sky, shattering the silence of the coast. Before I could ask anything else, something knocked me down from behind. I crashed face-down on rock, eating dust. I felt I was hit by a baseball. “What THE--“ I happened to wince. A small round sphere dropped on my waiting hand. I gazed at it closely and in terror, realized it was the very same pebble she hurled.
“That,” Sebyl noted to an awestruck me, “is what keeps things from leaving here. A teleportation barrier set up since ancient times. If you touch that, you end up back here, where you initially came from.” “Are you serious?!” I trembled at her revelation she dropped on my account. “Positive. That magic has been there for a millennia, so anything that came here never left. You should’ve seen the ones before you.”
“….” It’s over… “…” I sank to my knees, palms against the floor, head hung in despair. Heard her utter a faint ‘eH?’ “There’s… no way out?!” I felt the world wearing down on me at that precise moment, making it an enormous burden to bear for someone like me. Everything seemed so distant. There goes my chance of going back… I sobbed. If this was an animé scene, a spotlight would’ve backlighted me already, followed by a passing cold draft. “All I want….is to go back home….”
“Wow… SO deep.” Sebyl huddled next to me, patting my head in a repeated notion that kind of ticked me off. Her somber expression returned to glee. She had that glazed look in her eyes that reminded me of myself whenever I found an animé collectible to buy. “Actually…. There is one way.” My downtrodden expression lit up. I sniffled. “REALLY?!!?” “If I tell you, will you grant me one favor?” She stroked my nose playfully. I was so lost in the prospect, I fell for her sweet talk. “Yes! Yes! Anything!” Jarence, you have sunk so low…
Sebyl licked the tip of her finger, and giggling at my flustered response, continued
“I suggest going to Mahounia. Only the magical capital knows of secret passageways that’ll lead one out of this realm. You’d have to travel there for a couple of miles, but as I’ve heard, a lot of strangers like you have gone there too.” At that, I straightened up to my feet. “HUH? So there are others? Like ME?” “Not that I’m aware of, but yes, I heard most of it from my kin.”
Now I have to go on through some journey now to get home? Brilliant.
Well, I did find my ticket out of here. I have to give it a shot. And as there are others stuck in the same situation, maybe I should look for them.
“Kin, kinsmen….. Wait, did anyone else of your kind saw me here?” Sebyl parted the gloppy hair covering her eyes. “Nope. Just me.” I sighed in relief. More of them would’ve spelled more trouble. And I’m one of me.
She added, “That’s the beauty of it.” “WHAT?” She pulled out from the depth of her goo, a medical book sodden in blue liquid, and flipped its pages open. She could do that?
She pointed at a page dramatically flaunting a naked man's body. “You see, I was having some alone time at the beach, studying human physiology, when I saw you butt-naked, spread-eagle on this spot. You could imagine it’s common courtesy for someone such as me to help a stranger. So, I fixed you up and gave you clothes. It was quite a treat.”
(Human physiology... so that’s why she’s in a nurse’s get-up.
Skipping that part—Doesn’t that mean----)
I
nearly jumped out of my skin. “You watched me unconscious and DRESSED ME?!”
“Isn’t it divine??” Sebyl’s twinkling-mad eyes bore into me like impaling daggers. I froze like a block of ice. I never thought an innocent-looking girl such as her would be a boy-crazy pervert. Funny how the world revolves around things. “You were heaven-sent! I got to ogle at your manliness and put my understanding on human studies to work at the same time!”
A nervous laugh escaped my quavering lips. If she gets this excited over an undressed guy, I’d hate to see her next unfortunate victim.
“Ne, ne, do you like it? The clothes I wore on you?” In my anxiety, I failed to notice myself. From the surface of Sebyl’s semiliquid skin, I saw a blurred reflection, much like staring at moving water. I was wearing a faded, jet-black sweater, coupled with a decent pair of tight blue jeans. Comfy, cool, just the right size. The only problem: they were wet, soaked in damp slime.
“Yeah… Thanks a lot.” I said reluctantly. “Reminds me of you.” Sebyl cooed after tucking the book back in her body. “I’m glad! Now how about my favor?”
Crud. I agreed I’d do her one if she’d help me. “O-oh.. That! Hahaha! Sure! I’m a man of my word.. ” “Really really?” I told her to go right ahead. “Yipee!” She skipped along in joy. I frantically looked the other way, avoiding a stare at her bouncing boobies. As much as I’d like to get a move on, I owe this girl a lot, so I had to go along and grant her what she wants. I just hope it won’t be something I’d regret.
The scene of me wrapped in her arms flashed in my mind. I erased it at once.
She narrowed her sapphire eyes at me. Joined the tips of her fingers, then went red in the face. “There’s only one thing I’d want us to do.” “And.. that would be..?” She disappeared. I suddenly felt her breath on the back of my neck. My hairs stood on end.
“THIS.” Yep. I’m gonna regret it. She seized my left and, without hesitating, pushed it in the center of her chest. I screamed like a doomed animal. My hand entered readily with a sickening plop, sinking into her body, dragging my entire arm with it like a vacuum, and from the outside, I witnessed the sleeves of the sweater within dissolve, revealing nothing but bare skin. “WHAT- ARE—YOU--- DOING!!?----” I staggered. Knees buckling to give in. The burning sensation I felt before was back. I quavered, gritting my teeth at the force of the mental assault. My breath came in short, ragged wisps. Dirty images surfaced from the deepest recesses of my psyche, images I could never craft when I’m sane. The arousal that came with it was stronger than it was several minutes ago, threatening to turn my mind to mush, but for some reason, it hadn’t completely taken over. Wow. Willpower does keep a person going. But I never had it this much before. Adrenaline maybe? STOP THINKING, STUPID!!
I was flailing wildly, cursing out of desperation. She didn’t even flinch an inch. Her eyes sparkled. It dawned on me that this lecherous sensitivity was her doing, and it happened whenever I would come close to her slime. (Even more so now that I’m being pulled into her)
“SEBYLL!! Let GO!” I struggled to yank myself out. “Hold still, cutie. I’m having my way with you.” “HᵒLY SH--- ARE YOU GOING TO EAT ME?!” “What? EEw, GROSS! Why would I do that to you?” Sebyl’s breathing sagged while she replied. Is it me or is she feeling what I’m feeling? “Why do men like you always think that way? I’m just taking the clothes off so it wouldn’t bother us later.” “THEN WHAT WAS THE USE OF GIVING ME CLOTHES??”
"Teehee.. Don't you worry... I'll be bringing you to heaven soon." "HEAVEN?! I ain't even dead YET!"
She uttered a moan, her body swelling at the quiver of her voice. Her face, as if full of bliss, flushed scarlet instead of her usual color. I can’t be wrong. She IS feeling it.
Current state: I’m being raped by a slime-girl.
# # # # # # #
You might think it’s a chance of a lifetime. Not in my case, it’s not.
Unlike men of my age out there, I’m a billion years too early from ‘getting it on’ with anyone. I’m at the stage where I make wet dreams. I believe in romance BEFORE consummation. Therefore, making out is NOT in my itinerary.
Besides, I don’t intend to write off in my memoirs ‘I was raped by a girl made of slime’. Period.
I tried wrenching my arm off the goo, but to no avail. Her restraint on me was insanely strong, for someone who looks so fragile. I searched for another means of escape, and my eyes fell on a metal pole. How convenient. I immediately grabbed for it. Maybe I could--
Hit her?
HOLD IT! NO freaking way. I’m not someone who’d hit a—
SSHP.
My arm sunk an inch deeper.
SH*t.
At the rate things are going, I’ll be devirginized in less than a minute.
(Huh. Earlier, all I wanted was to have a weapon. Now I’m hesitant to land a strike on a girl-shaped monster)
I took a stance. “I’m.. SORRY!!” I swung the metal pole at her chest with my eyes closed, praying it’d work.
BOOOOOOOIIIIINGG!
Not a good sound.
I peeked. The pole struck, yet it definitely didn’t affect her in the slightest. Not that I was thankful. It sank for a moment, bounced off my grip and sailed soundlessly into the water. Darn it. That last attempt pushed me to the point of weakening.
Sebyl moaned again, and her blue face flushed even more. “Now you’re being rough, cutie?” She shuddered. “It’s alright… Do me more...!” “You have got-to be--kidding me!” Who knew she’s masochistic? That’s it. I’m officially out of options. Half of my arm entered into her by now, and so did my left foot. From the inside, bare flesh appeared out of my broken-down jeans. I could feel the sweat on my skin getting sucked dry too. Sebyl panted in delight, tongue lolling, body heaving in unison. The sight was so crude, I was keeping the thing ‘in my pants’ from rising to the occasion.
Think think think think think think think! I need a plan! I don’t want the raging hormones I sealed for so long spill out into the open like this!! “AACK!” World, spinning. Another migraine. The billowing waves of the sea weren’t helping me.
The sea… Seawater…?
TING. Idea.
“Say, uh…. Sebyl?” “Hmm?” ¾ of my left arm was gone.
“Will I end up as one of you after you… you know... make me yours?”
“No, dummy. Men don’t turn into Mamono. But, you’ll be something far more special." I gulped. I was starting to breathe heavily like her. “If I were you, I’d give in to lust. It’s plain obvious across your face.”
Left leg, mostly done for.
“You’re right. I should.” Now or never. With my free hand, I grabbed and fondled her breast. It was like holding onto gelatin, where your fingers dig in the surface instead of grabbing it. She squealed in response.
“AAhhh!!” She jolted violently. Fingers fastened on my back, she panted at a rapid pace. “You’re… holding me..”
“Yep.” Drops of blood trickled from my nose. “For this.”
I inhaled a lungful of air, still thinking my plan was sick. I dove into her.
I thought it would almost be like taking a swim. It wasn’t. I was diving into what seems to be liquid cement, compacting every time I thrashed about. Her inner body was tighter than it looked. The slime hugged anything and everything, reeling the rest of my body in towards its core.
Just the way I wanted it.
I strained my arms outside her gel (which took longer than expected) and grabbed her rocking hips. My thoughts were getting numb. Inside, the rapture felt ten times stronger, and was gradually eating away my last shred of sanity.
“WHa..! “ I could hear her ecstatic cry mixed with confusion.
Time for a swim. I hollered. Small bubbles escaped my mouth as I did. “HOLD ON!!!”
And like a certain game character once did, I shouted, “HORA HORA!!” and vaulted straight off the rock’s edge, tugging her with me. Sebyl finally realized the jig and shrieked. Her screeches fell on deaf ears. Water greeted us as we plummeted into the cascading sea, our cries drowned by waves.
Crazy? In my opinion, that strategy was outtahand in a sense that: 1. I’m not a fan of desperate attempts, 2. I’m not sure if she’ll see through it, 3. I can’t swim.
The first thing that crossed me when I touched water was GET TO THE SURFACE. Fortunately, the slime hold barring my movement was gone. I kicked my feet wildly and searched for a buoy to pull up on. Past several painstaking seconds of air loss, my hands clambered on a limestone formation. I resurfaced without delay, gasping for air. Sputtered and looked around. She was nowhere in sight. Swept away by the raging current, if I’m not mistaken. If it weren’t for the seawater, I wouldn’t have thought about her semi liquid make-up and made a conclusion water messes up her physical structure.
I’ll admit. The plan, the scheme, struck me from out of the blue. Apparently, I’ve seen this exact problem before. All I remember are hazy fragments of the past.. including a computer game. EH?
Not now. I need to get to shore.
“I’m a Slime, silly..”
“Ne, ne , do you like it? The clothes I wore on you?”
“I’m glad!”
The thought of Sebyl plagued me. I had no clue if she’s OK. I only wanted her to let go.
If another guy were in my place, he wouldn’t have done what I did. It was cruel. I hope nothing untoward happened… And it took me this time to grow a conscience.
Clenching my teeth, I kept moving. I inched carefully on the gaps of the limestone for ten seconds before a piercing wail nearly threw me off.
“WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!”
“Sebyl??” She survived the fall? I spun around. She was floating right behind me (most of her, to be clear. Her head was there, bobbing up and down, along with her lower extremities), inside a tidal pool promptly surrounded by a ring of limestone. Hands curled beneath her tear-ridden eyes, her girlish form churned in a state of meltdown like a living ice cream, and it was turning unstable at each passing second. Fragments of her gel split off and disappeared by the sweeping tide. “You’re so meeeeaaaan!! Stupid stupid stupiiiid!” She whimpered, swinging her arms, but she cried further when she saw them melting away too. “How can you do this to a maiden?? Now I can’t maintain my form any longer.. UWAAAA!!”
Remorse took over me, looking at the pitiable form I reduced her into. But then I boiled in anger.
“I had to do something! You were sucking me INSIDE YOU!” “Of course I was! Can’t you tell I fancy you? Do you dunk a person who likes you into cold, icky seawater when you feel like it??! ” “That’s not the case when that certain person is swallowing me in slime!!” “MEN! Always afraid us!! I should’ve seen it coming!!” The glower she laid on me burned countless holes in my shell. “I’m only did what a woman would do when she likes a man.. SO much for unrequited love…” “Does that involve RAPE?!” “STUUUUPID!!”
She continued to bawl, more of her slime drifting off. In a few minutes, all she’ll be is sea slick. “Can’t you just, become one with the water?” I chided. She threw me a murderous glare. “DO YOU SERIOUSLY THINK ME AND WATER MIX?!!” “I thought so...” I caught sight of a white, roundish object tucked behind the tidal pool. She cried even louder. Now what to do? The only rational option to do at this point: Take responsibility. I bit my lip. This smells of trouble, but on the other hand, I’m at fault here so I can’t complain. Oh well.

Midday.
On the sandy Gilfel coast, I sat cross-legged, hands on my folded knees, eyebrows twitching nervously. Opposite to me was an angry slime-girl, and I could tell she’s had enough pissing and humiliation to last a lifetime. Half an hour ago, I caught her already-dismantling body in an empty toilet bowl I found in the back of the pool. Her lower half got stuck inside, still soupy from our ‘swim’, and it was a miracle her head and chest area remained intact, including her arms. I was fidgety at the fact she lost her original get-up. She now had the image of a naked, semi-liquid woman with ‘O’ pins in her disheveled hair, hands tapping furiously at the edge of the seat. I averted looking at her direction fearing I’d get aroused. At any moment, she might start flinging goo towards me. I waited for her to enact revenge. Surprisingly, she didn’t. She kept glaring with brows arched. I broke the feverish tension.
“I guess… You don’t want to talk to me, huh.” “HMMMPH!!” Sebyl blew a raspberry. “Stupid stupid CUTIE!!“ “Ouch.” She turned away, arms folded. Up to this moment, she still calls me that. “Excuse me, I tried to help you.” “BY sticking me into a TOILET? Oh yeah, it did a LOT.” “I admit, that’s never been one of my best ideas.” And a ball of goo finally splattered across my cheek. Wow. That felt good. I deserve that. “MORON!!” She yelled like a Japanese school-girl, rearing to fling another ball. “Alright, I’m SORRY! I’m SORRY, I’m SORRY, I’m SORRY!”
I went on my knees and bowed. My conscience couldn’t take it anymore. I could feel she was surprised. My head dipped down and touched the sand. “From the bottom of my heart, I ask for your forgiveness! What I did was outright wrong! Just please.. don’t do that again.”
Sebyl’s face went purple. Agitated, I’m sure. “ARE you saying I should starve?” “Starve??” I asked puzzled, glancing at her. My mistake. Blood hosed from my nose upon seeing her and I pirouetted into a daze. The whole thing made no sense. Sebyl suppressed a laugh. “Slimes feed by consuming the spiritual energy of men. You really are aren’t from around here, are you cutie?”
“Yes. Yes I am. That’s why I’m asking. What do you expect from a stranger? ”
She ascertained we were getting çhummy and ducked partly into the toilet, only her face visible.
“Idiot.” She sternly puffed her cheeks. “You could’ve killed me.” “I can see you’re still enthusiastic. ” “Hmmph. On what grounds do you say that?” I pointed a finger. “You still have that glimmer in your eyes when you look at me.” She jerked upon hearing the comment. Score one for the hopeless romantic. “I-I do?” “Yeah. Don’t you agree?”
Sebyl erupted into laughter, wiping a tear off her eye. Her color shot up in bright blue, the same as when I met her. “You’re such a tease. I really like that.” I imagined an invisible arrow with the words ‘cuteness‘ pierced my chest.
“Gimme a break…” “Heehee.. So this is what a first date is like..” “NO, it isn’t!”
(What a mild way to describe what we went through)
“I almost forgot.” I mustered the courage to speak. “Thanks.. Sebyl.” She offered a questioning look. “What for?” “For… helping me. “ I squeezed a grip on my wrist. “Ever since I arrived, you were just giving me a hand. I would’ve still been in the same spot, making a boat that’ll never go anywhere if you never came. So… ”
“I see…” She smiled with glee. It was enough to thaw my frozen exterior. “You’re welcome.” “Eh? That quick??” “Anyway... If you want to make it up to me, I’ll let you in on one condition.” “Does this condition involve me in a perverse manner?” “No.” I stared long and hard at her widened simper. She didn’t seem to be planning anything. I replied I was listening.
“From now on, I’ll call you ‘Master’.” Silence.
“HAAAA??”
“Don’t want to? Then you’re not forgiven.” “HOLD IT!” I cut her off with a yell, her ulterior motive seeping into me now. “What are you insinuating? Are you saying you’re coming with me??” “Exactly.” She clambered out of the toilet and reformed back to her old outfit. “Since you’re going to be my cutie master, I’m entitled to follow you wherever you go. Kay?” Red flag alert. “HEY!! I am NOT OK! You can’t decide things on your own accord! I---“ She was just too fast to stop, because in a flash, she was already resting her head on my chest. “Won’t you please... accept me, master?”
“Uh… “ I blushed. Sigh. I don’t think I could say no.
“Fine. I accept. But no more monkey business, slime girl.” “Sebyl, please.” She took a bow, slightly lifting her skirt. “The Slime Mamono, Sebyl Sheena, at your service.”
That term again. “Answer this, Sebyl. Where exactly am I?” A long pause. She planted her fingers on her cheek, then in a low voice, replied:
“Monstrum Regni.”
“Monstrum Regni?” Her eyes fell on me. “That’s the name used in old texts. To humans, it’s the Monster Realm.”
“M-M-MONSTER REALM?!?” I exclaimed. From the name itself, I really really am far from home. However, I wasn’t scared. Something in my gut was telling me this is all too familiar. I have to find out why.
She nodded in satisfaction. “I wouldn’t lie to you, cutie.” I saw her glassy eyes dart a little lower than usual. “And by the way, I love the get-up. It’s more of you.” I didn’t get what she meant until I followed her gaze. My jaw dropped. I was already naked up to fourth base. Not a single tear of clothing was left clung on my skin.
Is that how fast the corrosion took place? I’d say. Thanks to Sebyl’s absorbent goo, my skin was so clean, it was literally glowing like a light bulb.
I jumped behind a boulder, completely mortified. I somehow knew something was off. She was staring at that the entire time. ”WHY DIDN’T YOU SAY ANYTHING?” She shielded her eyes with her hands, but not completely. ”I was taking my chances, enjoying the view of my master’s body. Heehee..” “You love making fun of me on purpose, HUH, Sebyl?” “Want me to comfort you?” I heard smacking of lips. “It’ll be fun.” “HeckNO!!” I saw a good-sized rag and wore it like a towel. “I’m letting this one slide.” I spoke as I peeked out of my hiding spot. “So, not another word.”
“Hai!” She declared in glee. “Oh! Master, you haven’t told me your name.”
How could I forget? I reached out a hand, and she shook it readily. Hid her blushing face in her hair. “Jarence. Jarence Yozama.”
Without warning, my vision faded to black.
The headache. It returned, and it wasn’t just pain. It flooded in a nasty torrent of memories. I slumped to my knees. Sebyl frantically called my name, but I couldn’t say a word…
.
.
People.. talking..
“The realm of all monsters.. It exists!!” said a craggy voice.
“We have evidence… All we need is a team..” Serious.
“We’re gonna be the first to publicize it, me buddy!” An avid tone. “It’s what brother would’ve wanted..”
Brother?
“We have to find him… and Anna too.”
A female. “I’ll be waiting at Lescatie… Jarence.”
…
…
…
I snapped awake. I was at Sebyl’s lap. She gently brushed my hair aside, and she looked worried. ”Are you alright?” I bolted up in a hurry. “I’m aware of this place..” “You are?” She said in wonder. I was still caught up in that frenzied dream. “Where… where is Lescatie?” “Lescatie? That’s two cities beyond Mahounia. What’s the matter?” “I… had a vision or something… and it looks like I need to go there. As soon as possible.”
Turning back to Sebyl, she suddenly went quiet. I repeatedly poked her on the cheek, then she squealed in absolute delight. She nearly gave me a fright. “You’re a hero?! My cutie master, A HERO?? YATAAAA!!” “HERO? What are you talking about? Are you saying I’m one!?”
She advanced. Goosebumps raised in alarm.
Uh-oh.
“You know… only heroes receive the visions from the Gods and seek missions.”
“Err… You’ve got the wrong idea Sebyl…. I’m nothing like that..” She wasn’t listening anymore. She was lost in her own fantasies.
“I can’t wait to see the look on the other Slime’s faces when I come around having a hero with me! YIPPEE!!!” She tackled me headfirst, and we went down on the sand. Her hair slid off her shoulders. She gave me an impish smirk that made me anxious.
“S-Sebyl… h-hold on a second...”
“Now, to have a taste..”
“SEBBYYYLLL!!!!!”
“I’m hungry! PLEEEAAASE!!!”
“What difference does IT MAKE??”
“I’M not letting go, master…”
“ GETOFF!! NOT THIS AGAAAAAAAAIIIN!!”

“You ready?” I called out to Sebyl while packing up clothes in a shoddy knapsack she found adrift on the beach. In no time at all, she had fetched me some new garments (an overcoat and a pair’o’pants), several pieces of fruit, another set of undies (drenched in slime, thank you very much), and a bunch of other utilities, a pocket knife and a lighter included. I was impressed she was able to find those along the coast. Obviously, she does things better than an average human.
“Ready!” She emerged behind a clump of onshore lime stones. She slightly changed her image into one fit for travel. Her hair tied to two tails, she wore an unbuttoned aviator jacket and a miniskirt. Her unclothed upper body was visible, so I immediately looked away.
She twirled. “Like the look?” I twitched and pinched my nose. “I knew your body would say that.” “You’re having way more luck than I am in survival.” I admitted as she came by my side. “That’s why I’m here, cutie. I’m your game-changer.” She made sense. I might be slightly familiar with this place, but I’m practically lost without a guide. I’d find it relieving to travel with a know-how like her than to be alone. I inhaled deeply. “More like pain-in-the butt.”
She thumped her tiny fists on my arm. “Meanie!!” “Can’t take a joke?” “I hate you. A little.” “Ok, stop dribbling.” I chuckled at her reaction. “Before I forget, we have to talk about the ‘eating’ thing….” Sebyl grumbled in disagreement. Her face turned purplish, meaning she was a tad ticked.”No fair!! I want spiritual energy too!”
“And that’s a no. No explicit, illicit stuff on my account. Understand?” She went slime and entered into the bag, fitting perfectly much to my surprise. She hung on my shoulders.“Yes master.”
Slinging the bag on my right, I gazed at the sky, cloudless and pink with the haze of the setting sun in the horizon. It’ll be dark soon. I decided to put behind plan ‘escape Monster Realm’. Those voices in my head… I have to follow them. To Lescatie. Where, hopefully, all my questions will be answered. And we have a long way to go.
Can it really be possible? To hang out with her, a Slime?
“So, where to Sebyl? Grimm Forest?” I told her. She cheerfully replied with a nod. “It’s a straight shot to a human village I live in. I’m sure you’ll need information to where we’re going. ” “Good thinking. Are all slimes as cunning as you?” “Oh.. you’d be surprised.” I asked again “And I thought in perspective, humans hate monsters.” “Times have changed round these parts, cutie. Things don’t always stay the same.” “Really now?” “Yup!”
I guess, this relationship’ll last. For a while. “I’ll take you up on that offer. Let’s go!” “HAI!” She wrapped her goo around me and raised her arm, beckoning me to the forest. With her on my back, I trudged onward, far from the clutches of the sea, unaware that more horrors lay ahead in my path.. and an obscure figure observing me from a distance…
And so, that’s how my adventure started. My crazy, girl- filled adventure, into the world of monsters.
