In the deep silence of the night, darkness prevailed over the forest, few kilometers away from the never ending commotion of the city.
Not deep in the forest, yet, obviously isolated from the civilisation, could be seen light overflowing from a tiny house trought rudimentary closed panes, piercing throught the night.
The habitation was far from asleep, as a young man browsing, flicking and searching throught books, papers, on a messy table wich was attesting of his struggle. His panicked gaze was exploring the sheets, before alway go searching for another one in defeat. His eyes where hurting him, his hands where almost trembling in fatigue, circles adorning the bottom of his eyes, if it wasn't for the magic crystals producing a decent amount of light comparing to simple candles, he felt like he would have turned blind.

He finally collapsed on his sit, put his head in his hands sighting. He put himself in a dangerous situation, a very dangerous situation, and he couldn't find any solution despite all the documents about different kind of magics he had.

"Come oooonnn, stop working you't going to kill yourself if you continue, just give up already!" complained a girlish voice on his right near him.

The young magician turn to the source of his torment. On the ground, only few meters from him was laying a cage with in it what seem to be like a little girl.
This girl was far from human, she had long pink hair ornated with horns a dark purple. A set of wing and a tail coming from her back, with a color matching the one of her horns. He attire was composed of a very simple white dress, decorated with a purple ribbon.

The little girl had a pouty expression on her face, and was throwing frustated glares at the magician.

"Come on Sorvere!" The Imp resumed her complaint, grabbing the bare of her cage. "Give up already, let me out, you're so mean!"

He  stood from his sit to approach the little demon, he was bearing a compassionnate gaze, as guilt was painted all over his face.

"I'm really sorry for that, I promise, I will find a way to send you back by tomorow, just go to sleep for tonight ok?" he said in the softer tone he could muster depite his fatigue.

"But I don't waaaaant to! You summoned me, now I am your familiar, you're my master, and that's about it" She complaint, balancing herself back and forth while gripping the bar of her cell. "I can't bear it anymore, this is torture!"

"I am sorry, I'm really sorry, but I can't" Sovere may have made a mistake, but he wasn't completly unaware of how worked monster. He knew that she would do nothing but tempting him and eventually take control of him, he didn't wanted that, this is not what he had in mind when he summoned a creature.
A friend of him was the one that introduces him about this specific method of summoning. He was expecting to have a monster or a creature of the dark as his familiar, not a mamono, an actual form of monster, but he just ended up with an Imp, a minor demon that charm men.
He should have known, he knew this woman way too much, of course it would be a trap, of course it would be something perverted, yet he trusted her.
But it was too late for that, maybe he could find a way to revert the summoning, for now, the little monster would have to stay behind those enchanted bars.

"Just sleep for now, everything will be back to normal in no time." He actually feeled bad for the mamono, he didn't want her to charm him, but he had nothing against her, and now she was the victim of his own mistake.
"Do you need anything? Do you want another blanket or something?" He asked, genuine concern in his voice.

In the cage there already was 2 blankets, some empty box of treats, and a teddy bear that Sovere gave to the Imp to appease her trial.

"Shut up idiot!" She exclaimed. She then picked her teddy bear and hugged it. "I am not talking to you anymore, Compote is a way better companion than you anyway!" She almost screamed at him before finally wraping a blanket around here and 'Compote' the teddy bear, becoming a pile of blanket laying on the side and muttering barely distinguishable insult regarding Sovere's brain capacity and the size of his most intimate regions.

He sighed one last time in despair, Nari, the Imp wasn't not someone he hated, she was quite adorable to him to say the least, but he tried to chase this thought as it could be simply some magic charm she put o him. But it was almost hearthbreaking to see her like that, it has been the second day of her locked in this cage, of course she would be on edge.
At first she was childish and joyful, happily trying to charm him from her cage. But the more the time pass, she realised that it was leading nowhere, and became actually angry, frustation building in here. It actually break Sovere's hearth to see this change, because if she wasn't a demon, she would have been a more than welcomed company.

She was right though, he couldn't work for the night, it was time for him to go to sleep as well, he will find a solution for sure tomorow, but he wasn't in the good mind right now.
He took the key of the cage with him before leaving to his room, it was a more than necessary security since the Imp couldn't use he magic on the bar of the cage or outside of it, but he prefer not let the key near the little cell just in case.

He quickly reached the bed in his room, jump in it, and quickly let his tired mind fall in a deep sleep.
Finally he could rest, finding comfort in slumber, however this newly finded peace was short-lived, as he would be soon wake up by a sound.
He jumped of his bed, eyes uselessly wide opened in the darkness. Perfectly immobile, he waited for another sound to confirm his suspicion. What felt like hours pass, but no other noise would come.
"I'm way too stressed" he thought, "I really need to sleep, I'm losing my mind."

But as soon he began to lay dow, he heard a metalic noise that he located in his kitchen, like something falling to the ground. Panicked, he jump on his feet and took the dagger near his bed.
He thought about calling out the intruder, but it would reveal the fact he is not asleep anymore, so he stayed silent.
"Did Nari escaped?" he thought, "That's impossible, she has never been able to escape the cage before." He checked his pocket, the key was still here. His mind was a mess, and the lack of sleep wasn't helping.

He would have to go to throught the main room before going to the kitchen, in the room where his desk and the Imp were.
Slowly, he opened the door leading to the biggest room of the house, he could barely, see anything in the darkness of the night. He opened the door more and more, silently enter the room, look at his right, the entrance door seemed unmoved, to his right, the door to his kitchen however, was slightly open.
"Damn it!" He thought, adrenaline begin to rush in his body, his grisp tightened around his dagger, he wasn't a fighter, and he was not in condition to use magic, or not to  fight with it.
But Sovere wasn't at the end of his surprise, he approached his desk silently, keeping an eye on what he could see from the kitchen door, to finally reach his magic crystal that will provide him with light.
He lightly infuse the crystal with his mana, in the direction of the cage to adjust the light just enought so he could see where he was going while avoiding to make it visible from the kitchen.

As he did, his eye opened wide in shock when he saw the content of the cage.
Stranger than anything he expected, in the cage could be seen a pile of blanket, moving up and down at the rythm of a breathing, a little devilish tail protuding from one side of the pile.

"Its impossible!" Thought the confused magician, he looked around him, the pane of his windows were still closed, his main door left untouched and locked. The only valid option was that the intruder entered directly in the kitchen throught the windows, that, or he was actually losing his mind.

He decided to finally end this madness, moved to the kitchen door in a more assured step, suddently opened the door, the crystal in one hand to light the room, his dagger at the ready in the other.
As his eyes wander the illuminated kitchen, he saw absolutely nothing out of the ordinary at first, the windows was closed as he left it.
Still in alert, he go around the door, looking for something that would have cause the noise, maybe it was just a rat in the end?
When he turned around, on the ground he found that 2 knives were now on the floor, it seem they had falled from the shelve, where only one knive was. He lean to pick them up, when he suddently realise... It was a set of 4 knives, one was neither on the ground nor on the shelve. Something sounding like footsteps cuted him from his thought.
"Who's there!" He finally exclaimed at the intruder, imlluminating the direction og the step noise. A pair of emotionless eyes stare right back at the magician, reflecting the light of the crystal. Armed of a familiar blade, Sovere faced nothing more than a little creature, not taller than 50cm, in the shape of a standing teddy bear.

"Wha- what the heck?!" Was all he could mutter before the plush jump at him with a force it shouldn't possess, attacking with his knive, Soreve just had the time to parry the blade with his own, sending back the teddy bear over the table of the kitchen. But the animated toy didn't stoped here, it resume it's assault as soon it touched the wood of the furniture, forcing the magician to dodge this time. Curiously agile, it was now on the shelve that was behind Soreve, and was throwing at the latter, plate that were laying on it.
The very confused magician was forced to retreat near the door, the debris of plate actually hurting him, cutting his face.
"This has to be Nari doing" He thought "But how? It make no sense."

'Compote' the teddy bear jumped at the magician again, assaulting him with his weapon, the two exchanges actual blows, parrying each other blade, like it was an actual fight to death between two men, but those weren't blade made of demon realm silver like mamono would use it, and the visible bloodlust of the plush didn't seem to dried by the time, while Soreve accumulated fatigue made him really weak.
Soreve wasn't proud to lose a fight to an animated toy's plush, but he really didn't want to take the risk to die killed by it. With one decisive blow, he send the plush flying over the room, before storming out the kitchen in the living room, closing the door behind him rushing to the cage, in wich was laying an Imp with a mix of annoyance an concern on her face.

"What the hell is happening!"

"Rina! You need to do something, Compote became completly crazy and his trying to kill me!" He said as he reach for his key in his pocket, kneeling near the lock of the cage. She would have took him for a mad man if it wasn't for the cuts on his face and his scared look. A grin form on her face.

"Muhaha! Just according to my plan! I knew I would make you free me you foolish human! I knew you wou-"

She was cut off by a door bursting open, followed by a knives throwed at Soreve's head, planting way too deeply in the wood of the desk near his face.

At that moment, the man saw the most honest expression the Imp ever gave him.

"Ho shit! I'm not in control of this at all! Quick open me!" She said, now as panicked as the man in front of her.

In a click of the lock the cage bursted open, the Imp jumped from the cage toward the approaching teddy bear.
A purple aura came out of her hand, and one of the same color covered the teddy, that floated in the air for a moment, before finally fall inert on the ground.

A moment of silence pass, both staring at the unmoving toy, expecting it to come back to life.

Soreve finally break the silence. "What the hell was that?!"

The Imp gave alternatively confused look to both the magician and the plush. "I don't know! I really don't know! I would never try to harm you I swear!" Nari was really moved by the event, she was confused by what happened, but worst than that, she felt guilty that she could have been the origin of the suffering or even death of her master.
"I'm so sorry." She added, her usual joyful attitude was nowhere to be found. Seeing that, Soreve instantly regret his harsh tone.

"Look, it's okay, I'm fine, no worry, don't be sad." He said, sitting down more comfrotably against the desk.
He got nothing for an answer but a little nod of approval.
Second of silence pass, when the Imp finaly aknowledged the change of situation, she was finally free, in the middle of the night, with her tired master that have nowhere to run.

"Maaaster~" She said in a seductive manner. She crawled to him, swaying her hips with every movement.
"Now we're here, don't you think it would be more safe if I sleep with you? In case something else bad happen~?"
She lean against his body, rubbing her chest against his, coiling her tail against his leg, but when she meet his gaze, she meet nothing but the closed eyes of a sleeping man.

She silently scream in frustration, before sighting, defeated. She took one of the cover in the cage, put it over the both of them and settle by his side, her head resting on his chest and her tail coiling around one of his leg.

"Good night master, you better be in better shape tomorrow morning."
