Drakes are, have been, and probably always will be, one of the most destructive creatures to ever exist. This does not stem from the fact that they are especially powerful, however; in fact, drakes are not only the physically weakest of the dragon species, but they are weaker than most other mamono as well. There are actually two reasons they are so destructive. The first is that they are the only type of dragon to work in packs. A pack of drakes can have anywhere from three to ten memebers, and every on of them has a temper fouler than the most ornery of wyverns, and even a mildly irritated drake can make a truly angry dragon look safe in comparison. The second reason drakes are so destructive is that instead of the breath weapon a normal dragon has, a drake uses a slightly less powerful version to infuse a glob of saliva with energy, and then spit it out as a fireball, which explodes on contact and will stick to most surfaces, making it difficult to put out.
Drakes cause this rampant destruction primarily because they are typically known as offshoots, mutations, or unevolved versions of their full-blooded dragon cousins, which causes feelings of inferiority. These feelings quickly cause the drakes to become angry, as their imagination tells them that the other types of dragons are laughing at their misfortune. To compensate, drakes work together to cause far more damage than a single dragon could. During these raids, drakes will also swoop down and abduct any men who catch their eye, flying them back to the nest and violently copulating with them until the man that has been brought back passes out from exhaustion. This does not usually take very long, and the drake is more often than not left unsatisfied. Because of this, it is not uncommon for a pack of drakes to go on multiple raids in a single day, destroying entire towns while they search for more men to bring back to the nest. Eventually, the drakes will bring back enough males that they can simply go from man to man without ceasing whenever one passes out, until she is finally satisfied. Unfortunately, this powerful, constant sex is too much for any but the strongest men to take for long, and most victims of abduction by drakes die during this period
Drakes are also the most difficult of the dragon family to tame. Using pure force on a drake will only excite her, and she will view any kind of physical struggle as a game, taking great pleasure in being pinned by a man before struggling free and pinning him back. The only way to tame a drake is to pin all of her limbs, including her tail. This causes the drake to realize that a man is serious in controlling her, and will become afraid of that man, doing all she can to please him and not invoke his ire. While it is possible to tame a drake in this manner using tools and bonds, pinning a drake is most easily accomplished as a team, with at least one man holding down each limb. In this case, the drake will recognize the man who stands up first or addresses her first as her new mate, and will cease attacking him and others entirely. Instead, she will beg him when she wants sex, and allow him to take her in whatever position and for however long he wants.
One final note: Whenever a drake is tamed by a man, the rest of the drake's pack will relocate their nest somewhere closer, and cease their destructive habits, as they now see the man as someone who can defeat them. Instead, they will make themselves guardians of the area, protecting anyone who lives there from any and all threats, and they will attempt to more gently court human males who happen to strike their fancy, often landing near him and rubbing their bodies against him. If a man accepts these advances, she will become subservient to him in the same way as her tamed packmate.
