Hello Fans Ore-samma here!
So, why all the hate for the devilbug mamono?
I read the description, and I get the distaste, but the hate?
Meh-
Well, I wrote this, to at the very least give the notion of what could be for her.
A self-inspired one-shot which I hope you all like.
Ever you Servant-

I coughed in the cold rain and ever present wind down the alleyway.
Why does it rain in Night City on all the days I am out and about! I grumbled in my head as I quickly moved out of the way of MaxTac rushing along the streets, sirens blaring.
The glare of the slick roads was twofold this night as the neon signs were reflected in the distorted mirror within the pavement as the entire city bustled about on its way.
I checked my cell, yep! Finally I was in range of my car!
I was just about to summon it to me, when I heard a feminine coughing down the alley.
I looked, strange….coulda sworn I heard something-
And again, a coughing.
In Night City, curiosity could get you killed, that much was certain. It could easily be Maelstrom, or even a Scavers cult back there….but even though I knew this, my curiosity got the better of me and I took a look.
A matted tangle of brown hair, then a pair of brown eyes glanced from behind a few discarded boxes. They focused on me and quickly ducked back out of sight with a gasp.
Suddenly, someone grabbed me from behind and rushed into the alley.
“Quick! Check his pockets and then shoot him!” A voice hissed.
I struggled and heaved my body, but it was pointless, the person must have had a strength enhancement. I saw a brutish man holding a pistol at my face.
Shit! This is it!
A sudden mass plowed into the man holding me, and he let go. I quickly ducked out of the way and slammed my elbow into the other man’s face just as he fired off a shot.
I grabbed his pistol and brought it down on his face, and spun around.
The other man was already knocked senseless by a thin looking bug-type monster girl holding a rock, and wearing rags.
She looked at me, dropped the rock and brought her small claw-like hands to her mouth and coughed, spraying a small amount of blood on her hands.
Never keeping her eyes off me, she wiped her hands off on the man's clothing and stepped aside, allowing a space for me to get back to the street.
“Thank you.” I sighed. “You saved my life. What’s your name?”
“Bagu.” She said in a hoarse, mucus choked voice.
“Bagu?”
She nodded and grasped her elbow with one arm and looked a bit nervous and shimmied past me, deeper into the alley.
I heard that sick, wet cough again and summoned my car and turned around.
“Hey, Bagu? Come with me. Let me get you some help and maybe some food.”
She turned around, her antennae twitched slightly and her face was in a cautious expression of disbelief. “Will you bring me back here, after?”
I nodded, “Of course. It’s the least I can do to thank you! And, my name is James.”
“Uh, um...th-thank you, James.” She sighed, her lungs emitting a strange bubbling sound as she did so and stepped closer just as my car arrived.
“Here, go ahead and get into the passenger seat.” I offered as I hopped in the drivers side. “Are you cold? Let’s put the heat on.”
I cranked the heat to max and punched in my address and, within moments, we were on our way.
During the car ride, Bagu didn’t speak. But her breathing made me realize just how sick she really was. I covertly had my car scan her vitals, condition, and already ordered her some medication to be delivered to my apartment for her mamono-type along with some food and new clothes.
“Here we are!” I said, as I exited the car and opened the door.
“Bagu?” I looked and noticed that Bagu was barely breathing now, her eyes were glassy.
“Up we go!” I grunted as I picked her up and carried her to the elevator.
It wasn’t long until I had her inside the house, and set her in the bathroom. I went back to the living room and grinned seeing the medicine was already delivered! Leave it up to Trauma Team, and my membership with them to come though!
I scanned the instructions and got her nebulizer ready first. I slipped the mask on her, and activated it, keeping a close eye on her vitals that were now displayed on the bathroom mirror.
The nebulizer hissed and spat its medicine deep into her lungs, and before long she started to come around, and coughed the vile slime mixed with blood out of her body, and into a handy wastebasket I kept close to her.
Bagu coughed and coughed and retched and coughed. At long last her breathing sounded almost normal, and I was glad to see her oxygen levels also reaching almost normal levels.
“How does that feel?” I said, waving my hand and getting her attention.
“It hurts.” Bagu whimpered. “So much blood coming out.”
I nodded. “Yeah, you have a serious lung infection that only affects bug-types. But don’t worry. I have some medicine that will make it better.” I held out a small bottle and handed it to her. “This is the first dose. It doesn’t taste good.”
Bagu looked at the bottle and back at me. “Wh- why are you being so nice to me?” She said, blinking a bit fast, her brown eyes now cast a wet sheen.
“Are you kidding? You saved my life! This is the least I could do!” I unscrewed the bottle and removed the mask, now that the breathing treatment was done, and held it to her lips.
“....thank you...” Bagu whispered and quaffed the bottle. Her face wrinkled into a grimace and she coughed again, her long tongue hanging out, and smacked her lips.
“Come on, let's get you cleaned up and get you fed. Will you be able to handle the shower on your own?”
Bagu looked around her surroundings and almost seemed startled. “Wh- where am I?”
“You’re at my apartment.” I said, with an encouraging smile “Comon, you’re dirty all over. I’m sure you’ll feel better once you’re clean.”
Bagu looked at the buttons and settings of the shower and back to me. “I, uh….well….okay...thank you.”
I left her new clothes on top of the bathroom cabinet and exited the bathroom, suddenly wishing I had the sense to pee just as the door closed.
She didn’t lock it? I thought with a burst of elation.
I heard the spray of water, waited just a few moments and quietly slipped in and quickly relieved myself.
As I did I heard a small gasp and out of the corner of my eye, I could see Bagu watching me, her eyes were laser focused on what I was doing. I pretended to not notice and quickly slipped out, almost ashamed of how fast my heart was beating to the idea of being watched just now.
“Ah! How do you feel now?” I said, seeing Bagu enter the living room, wearing the new clothes I got her.
“Um… I feel much better, thank you.” She almost whispered.
Bagu looked completely different now. Now that it was clean, her brown hair reached all the way to her waist. Her antenna drooped just a little above her glossy brown locks, and was also a bit shiny.
She kept her hands in front of her body, fiddling with either her antennae or with fingers nervously. Her elytra kept twitching or shivering, another sign of nervousness.
Her browns were well contrasted by the bright pink shirt and-
“Are you wearing the towel as a skirt?” I said, quirking my head.
A red blush crept to Bagu’s cheeks as she handed the pink lounge pants to me.. “Well, see….my legs would rip the cloth.”
I looked, ah- now that she was clean, I could clearly see that the separate plates of her legs would indeed rip the cloth.
“Hmmm-” I took a pair of scissors and cut them into short-shorts, and handed them back to her.
Bagu almost gasped and looked to the altered legwear and back to me. “Are- why did you- uh, are you sure?”
I nodded, “I’ll bet you have to do that with almost all of your legwear that are pants.”
Bagu nodded and slipped the shorts on, under the towel. I felt my heart skip a beat as she let the towel slip its knot, unwrapped it from her pelvis.
She glanced up, still holding onto the towel and her eyes softened a bit from catching me staring intently at her.
“Are- are you interested in me, James?”
“I, well I-” Now it was my turn to blush and be flusters as a soft smile crept onto Bagu’s face. She strode towards me and gently wrapped the towel around my neck and slid closer to me.
“I thought there was some other reason for you wanting to help me.” She said in a smooth voice, letting go of the towel and smoothing out my shirt near the top of my chest and over my shoulders. “I will confess that I certainly have been interested in you for quite some time now.”
“Huh? But- we just met today, right?”
Bagu’s antennae twitched with the corners of her lips. “You always walk past that alley and wait for your car on the same spot.” She sniffed in the space between my neck and jaw. “You really like Cinnamon doughnut coffee and a bacon sausage breakfast burrito, but you never like finishing it.”
She leaned back a little, almost showing off her large, soft brown eyes as she looked up to me, her fingers still clutching onto my shirt.
“You- you’ve been eating my-” I stopped as Bagu’s expression immediately changed.
She kept her eyes within mine in an intense stare and swallowed, taking a slow inhale that passed over her lips in a delicious hiss. “I get so hungry, James.” She paused, almost seeming to choose her words with the utmost care, “I do what I can to eat...sometimes, I do what I must….is it so wrong to want to live?” She lowered her eyes to the ground and ran her fingers over my shoulder. “Is it so wrong to want others to live?”
I felt the initial revulsion pass, and I didn’t see a bug-type mamono anymore, but a young girl who struggled to live in this cruel and merciless city.
I exhaled, “No, there’s nothing wrong with any of it….I suppose that many times couples will share each other's food.” I pressed a little closer into her, feeling her soft flesh around me, and touched her chin.
Bagu’s tear filled eyes slid back into mine. “James, please….I want to be with you….but, I want to always be with you. Not just one night, but one lifetime!”
She blinked and her tears slid down her face and hung to her jaw.
“You could easily take me, and I couldn’t refuse you. You could leave me on the corner where you found me, and I would forgive you and still love you. You could abuse what I feel over and over again…..but if you are the kind of man who would give medicine and food to a young girl out of kindness or gratitude….I beg you….be the man who won’t use me….and if you could, be the man who would love me, and keep me. I would be yours forever, I could only be yours forever.”
My own vision blurred and I blinked, feeling a dampness leave my eye and down my own face.
How long does it take to make a decision that is so life-changing? How long did I consider the plea Bagu left at my feet and heart?
Perhaps I would never know.
I pressed my body closer and my lips to hers. My fingers trailed through her silky brown hair, around her quivering antennae. She wrapped her arms around my neck and, with a small hop and flutter of her wings, wrapped her legs around me as I carried her to the bedroom.
