Hello Fans, Ore-samma here!

Another request fulfilled from this forum post = One-shot requests (6) SPECIAL EDITION | Fandom

.

About a month or so after Lilith and her husband forced the Tentacles to stop murdering people. One of the tentacle brains gathers enough DE to become the first tentacle mamono, but when she goes to a nearby mamono friendly town the townspeople are still extremely cold and hostile towards her, saddened by this the tentacle vows to prove that she is now friendly to both humans and mamono.

.

So, very charming to write. I'm not so sure about the premise, but I can make do!

I liked how it turned out, and I hope you like it too.

I sifted through the instinctual memories of the plants that were once mindless and gasped at my new understanding as to why the townsfolk were so angry to see me.

.

“They still think I am a monster!” I whispered as I climbed through the forest canopy. And, perhaps even more so. Once I was nothing more than a collection of vines and tentacles that only moved with reflex. Now, I was something that could move and think for herself.

.

Hmmm, there had to be something….something I could do that would ease people’s fears and….

.

“I got it!” I cried out, snapping my fingers! I closed my eyes as more instinctual memories of lures, bait, and other flora that humans would seek out that my kind would use when they were mindless to ensnare them.

Flowers, fruits, scents, nectars, healing herbs, roots, aloe gel, and so many other assorted essences that humans found so alluring….they were all at my command to grow and cultivate! I could lure all sorts of humans near me and- and-

.

“Wait a second, they would still be so scared and leery of me.” I thought some more...there had to be a way to use the lures but also engender a sense of trust without having to expend so much energy by making such potent substances.

.

This time my memories of the town that all but threw me out came to light. I remembered seeing villagers “selling” their crops, and other grown goods for money or other valuables!

.

“That’s it!” I cried out, clapping my hands together. “Trading! Bartering! An exchange of goods and services!”

.

I settled in the tree and thought of what sort of things I saw in the market and quickly formulated a plan.

As expected, the first few people who came into my stall that was at the edge of the outdoor market were leery and almost jumpy. They looked at the vines I used to grow a full enclosure and market stand with fearful eyes, but the lure of the flowers I grew all over the vines inside and out was too irresistible for almost anyone.

.

“Hello?” The human woman called out as she clung to her husband.

“Good morning!” I said behind my counter with a wave, keeping as low a profile as I could in a large pot. “Welcome to my botany shop! How may  I help you?”

The woman’s face grew pale and she backed into her husband who took a step closer.

“Yes, we couldn’t help but smell the Prairie Fire roses you have, and would like to purchase a few!”

“Of course!” I nodded and had a vine bring a half-dozen to the counter.

“EEEEK!” The woman cried out, shrinking against her husband who held her still.

“Sex- er- I mean, six coppers!” I said with a grin, deciding to ignore the panicked woman.

The man placed the money down, took the flowers and quickly exited just as a lamia and her husband entered.

The early morning passed quickly with me selling all sorts of plants, flowers, and powerful healing substances.

As the morning turned to noon I slipped out of my stall and slowly made my way to the farming side of the market.

“Hello!” I said to the nervous famer who was manning a stall that had packages of fertlizer.

“What do you want?” He grumbled, clutching his pitchfork a little tighter.

“I would like to purchase a bag of your fertilizer! It was exhausting to make so many things for the market! I need some nutrients!” I said with a smile, holding out twelve silvers.

“Oh! Well….um….okay.” He mumbled and took only one coin and waved his hand to the pile of burlap bags.

“Thanks!” I said, and quickly went back to my small shop and allowed my other vines to tear it apart and absorb the nutrients from it.

“Aaahh!” I sighed, allowing the flowers to fall from my vines and had everything recede into the ground.

I shifted about the town market, purposefully keeping away from too many people and buying things here and there just to try to put the villagers at ease, and to also get rid of the money I had no need for.

“Hello! I’ve been watching you.”

I turned and looked around and saw a man standing close to me.

“Well hello!” I said and gave him a cheery wave, a bit disappointed as I could tell he was married. “My name is Tefla! What’s yours?”

“I am James. My brother, Alex and I are alchemists and healers. News traveled fast in this small village about your powerful Aloe Gel and he and I wanted to meet you.

I cleared my throat and looked into his friendly eyes. “I see! Uh….er….is he single?”

He nodded and I gasped and quickly had to reign in my excitement as my tentacles started to writhe and wriggle.

“Well, of course I would be glad too! Is it far?

He smiled and shook his head. “Nah, just at that greenhouse over there! Common!”

Immediately upon entering the greenhouse I felt an immense feeling of happiness and peace fill my senses.

“Hello! You must be the newest mamono here! My name is June!”

I looked and gasped- it was an Alraune!

“Hello!” I said, giving a curt nod and bow to the beautiful mamono. “You must be James’ wife!” I said, finally seeing the connection I smelled on James earlier.

She nodded and edged closer to me, looking over my form, her vines poking my tentacles here and there a little.

“Oh! You’ll be perfect for Alex!” She squealed. “That is, if you’re looking for a husband!”

I nodded. “Oh yes! I am! Where is he?” I said, looking about.

“Right here!”

“EEEEK!” I cried out and fell on my bottom, Alex was on a platform just above my head in one of the larger plants in the greenhouse.

I looked up as he smiled down at me, a pair of pruning shears in his hand and a handful of Aloe Vine in the other.

“That’s not funny!” I cried out as everyone gave a good-humored chuckle.

“You’re right, you’re right.” Alex said and jumped down, and strode towards me. “I’ve seen some of the Aloe Gel you sold in town. One of the guardsmen brought it here wanted to make sure that you weren’t cheating the townsfolk.” He held up the small vial I sold earlier.

“You made this?” He said with his eyebrows raised.

I nodded. “It wasn’t exactly easy, but yes!”

He looked over to June, “This is just as good as the Aloe you cultivate, June!” He said with a happy smile.

“Yes indeed! Tentacles are very potent and more versatile since they can actually walk about!” June said, her voice now muffled as her petals closed upon her and her husband.

Alex looked to me and then down at his legs, making me realize I was already curling my tentacles around him.

“Oops! Sorry!” I squeaked and forced myself to try to remain calm.

“No, it’s okay.” He motioned for me to follow. “I find this all very endearing and you so very interesting! Come let us talk more! I want to get to know you!”

I exhaled, feeling a relief swell within me…..and I just knew...somehow...the future would be just fine as long as there was love and understanding.
