Prompt: Desperate cries of help.

I curse my helpful nature and call out to the hornet. She frantically looks down at me, sighing.

"Oh thank the gods, finally someone shows up." She manages to move one arm enough to throw her spear free from the webbing. "It'll cut through fine, but if you so much as prick me with it, I'm shoving it up your ass." Well, someone's charming. I carefully start using the spear to cut through the thick strings of webbing. As I'm starting to make progress, I feel something behind me. Knowing what I'm about to see, I decide to instead duck under the web and face my opponent.

I'm not facing the ushi-oni or arachne I feared, but it is a soldier beetle. She cocks her head at me, then looks up to the hornet. "He has your spear." She grabs something off her back before levelling a large spear at me. Looking on wide-eyed, I throw a panicked look at the hornet.

"Grace, it's cool, he was trying to get me down, care to finish the job?" The soldier beetle held her stance for a few more seconds, before relaxing. In a few swift movements she had the tangled hornet cut free, but still wrapped in webbing like a straight jacket.

"Thanks, now, give me that." The hornet snatches her spear back from me, before ushering me away from the web. When the two of us are at a distance, Ani shreds the rest of the web, cutting it into small threads before throwing a cover over them, rolling that up and placing it on her back. She turns to the two of us, and looking at the hornet, she doesn't want to hear anything about her situation.

"If you say anything about this to anyone I am going to find you and shove my stinger so far up your ass-" Ani coughs, getting her attention, then a sigh. "Sorry. Ani and myself are patrolling the forest for abandoned webs." she snorts "You'd be amazed by how many arachne just leave them out here after captureing a husband." She turns, only to see Ani giving her some kind of look. "Oh no, I am not giving you the pleasure, tight lips." She storms passed the soldier, who gives a surprisingly cute giggle.

"She's not so bad." She says, before turning to walk away. I decide to follow them, since they probably know how to get back to the road. The hornet makes a point of ignoring me, but the soldier beetle walks next to me, seemingly happy to have company.

"How much more do we have to search Ani?"

"Done." The hornet breathes a heavy sigh of relief.

"Finally, been a long day, huh?" The soldier nods, putting a hand on the hornet's shoulder.

"Sari?" The hornet turned, and the soldier gestured at me.

"No. Not going to happen." There was some silent communication between them, before the hornet sighed again. "Fine" she turned to me "you... thanks for trying to help. It's appreciated." The soldier beetle shakes her head, kneeling down to look me in the eye.

"She means it, really." Sari gives her an angry look, but the apparent response has her sighing again.

"Alright, god you're a pain in the ass." she takes a deep breath before looking at me again "I really do appreciate the help, honestly, I thought I'd lost Ani back there somewhere, and I almost thought I'd be stuck up there for the rest of the day. So... thanks for coming to help." She casts a glare at Ani before turning back to the path ahead.

"Tsun." Ani giggled quietly, forcing Sari to spin on the spot with a deep blush and a furious expression.

"I am not a tsundere!" She takes off down the road. Ani just shakes her head again and continues walking. We find Sari sitting in a tree waiting for us. The way she seamlesly jumps down and slips into stride beside Ani makes me think this happens a lot. We reach town and they turn towards the local rangers barracks.

"So..." Sari starts, letting Ani walk ahead "if you wanted to find me for whatever reason, I'm usually here if I'm in town. Now, I need to get this crp off of me. Toris is gonna rip me a new one about the uniform...." She wanders off, muttering, and I can't help but feel like she meant it when she told me to come find her.

The next evening I decide to go visit Sari, but when I open my door, she's walking up to the house. When she spots me, she tries to veer off, but I call out to her.

"Oh, hey. Didn't know you lived around here." She says, trying to brush it off.

"I was just going to see you." Her cheeks flush subtly, and she visibly tries to supress a smile.

"Really? And why's that?"

"Well, you invited me to, so I figured I'd come see if you wanted to talk."

"Well, I, uh, I suppose I have some time to talk."

"If you're busy, I won't both-"

"No!" She quickly grabbed my wrist, before just as quickly letting go. "I mean, it's fine, I'm not doing anything important." She walks straight through my front door, me closely following her. I close the door and turn around to find her standing right behind me.

"So." She mutters, something in her eyes making me nervous. "Was there anything in particular you wanted to talk about?"

"Um... yeah, kinda? Could you... maybe give me some space?" She blushes and slips back a few paces.

"Better?" I nod, trying to collect myself.

"Um, well, I just wanted to say I'm glad I found you yesterday." She cocks her head, looking for an explanation. "You, um, you were really rude, and I didn't really appreciate the way you kept thretening to stick things up my ass" the blush deepens heavily "but if I didn't find you, I'd never have met the love of my life." She looks at me, and looks like she's about to cry, when Ani walks out of the shower. Sari looks at her for a few seconds, before looking back at me.

"Wait. You meant her?" I nod, wrapping an arm round Ani's waist.

"She's so sweet once you get passed the the armour." I look up, and notice a mischevious smirk on Ani's face. Looking back at Sari, she's trembling with clenched fists. "Um... Sari? Is everything okay?" She glares at me for a moment, before drawing her spear.

"YOU FUCKING MORON!" She screams before charging me. I look up to Ani for help, but she's just smiling brightly.

"You'll enjoy it." She giggles, grabbing the spear and pulling it from Sari's hands. She spares a quick glare for the large woman, before coming at me with her stinger.

The fight didn't last long, but the rape took most of the night by the time Sari was done with me. We were on the couch, Ani sitting next to us, me on the verge of passing out, and Sari still grumbling while snuggling into me.

"I'm still pissed at you Ani." The soldier beetle giggled.

"You loved it." Another round of grumbling from Sari, before a reluctant nod.

"Yeah, I did." She looked up at me. "Hope you don't mind."

"Uh... yeah. I guess it's fine?" She smiles and snuggles in, snoring quickly after. Well, who knew one good deed would lead to two girlfriends?
