Once I get over my shock of seeing my (not so) little girl again, I throw my arms around her and return the hug just as tightly. When we separate I ask why she never sent me a note. She blushes and looks down.

"Sorry, daddy. I just was so busy trying to fix everything. You wouldn't believe how much trouble these little ones can get in without someone to tell them off." She looks back to me, all smiles again. "But now things are better than ever! And... and I want you to come join us." She looks down at me with those big green eyes of hers, and I can't say anything but yes.

She squeals with delight and throws her arms around me again. "Ohhhh! You're going to love it out in the woods daddy, just you wait!" She then drags me out of the house, and spreads her wings. Realising what she's planning to do, I start to protest, but fall silent as the ground leaves our feet.

I cling on to her for dear life as we fly over the woods. After a few minutes I see what must be her castle, a great tree growing taller than any other in the forest.

"What do you think of our new home daddy?" I'm speechless as I look at the sheer scale of the tree. Landing on one of the branches, wide and flat enough to be a walkway, she lets me go with a grin on her face. First new rule, no picking me up and flying off with me. She nods, her cheeky grin showing no sign of going away.

"Come on! I'll show you your room!" She then grabs me by the hand and takes me into the tree. The hallways are filled with giant brightly coloured flowers. As we approach a door I marvel at the wonder of it. It's a single leaf, with what looks like a handle growing from one edge of it, and when it swings open I'm completely stunned. The room is almost as big as our old living room, and the bed is big enough to hold five people. Even more flowers grow along the walls and from the roof, some glowing lightly to give light to the darker parts of the room.

"Do you like it? It's the king’s chamber." I turn to her, eyebrow raised. Isn't the king meant to be married to the queen? She giggles and slaps my shoulder.

"No, silly. The king is the princess' father. But since I'm queen I guess that doesn't really make sense..." She looks thoughtful, before giving me another cheeky smirk. "Maybe you should have a different room..." Sighing I hug her again, thanking her for the room.

"It's the least I could do for you daddy." She says, returning the embrace. "Now, get settled in, because there's going to be a feast tonight, to celebrate your arrival!" She cheers, then flutters off. I decide to inspect the room, and find a wardrobe with some clothes that fit me. I attend the feast when a fairy comes to take me to it.

Everything is sugary and sweet, and I've eaten all I can before the others even look like they're slowing down. I look at my daughter, who's sitting at the head of the table, on a great throne with leaves and flowers growing all over it. She notices and grins at me with a mouthful of some kind of berry. She's still my little girl, no matter how big she gets.
