Alcohol is created through the processes of fermentation of various fruits and grains.
It has many uses, fuel, medicine, etc. but its primary use by both Humans and Monsters is recreational.
There are many beverages to choose from made by various peoples or states, the Dwarves are famous for their Beer, Elves for their Spirits, etc. and Humans make a wide variety of ales and wines. In the previous era before the coming of the current Demon Lord, the Monsters of the world only had one alcoholic drink that they brewed on their own. It was only fit for consumption by monsters, as it was toxic and sometimes even lethal to Humans.
However, this, like many other cultural practices, changed with the current Demon Lord coming to power. Though not as sudden as many other cultural changes that occurred. Over time though, various monsters wished to make alcohol beverages of their own, and today, thanks to the funding of the Demon Lord as part of the ongoing cultural exchange, breweries and vineyards exist across many various Demon Realms.
It should be noted that alcohol brewed by Monsters does not seem to possess the same negative effects that are seen by those brewed by Elves, Dwarves, and Humans. It does not dull the mind and senses with repeated use, nor does it seem to bring about a dependency on the substance. Even the famously drunken Oni have been recorded to go long periods of time without their prized Sake (rarely by choice) and exhibited no ill effects. That said, it does seem to come with its own bevy of peculiar effects (whether they are negative or not is up to interpretation) on the its drinkers, whether Human or Monster, believed to be because of the demonic energy that lies latent within it.
Like most products produced by Monsters, almost all conservative Order Kingdoms ban these drinks. Though, unlike many products produced in the Demon Realms, Demonic Alcohol rarely causes Monsterization on its own.

Grog
A drink descended from the alcoholic brew that was originally made by monsters in the previous era. Its recipe has changed considerably however. It no longer uses any blood, bones, viscera etc. of any humans, or other monsters, any such recipes have been lost.
That said, it still retains many of its traits from olden times. For one, it is an incredibly strong drink, one mug is enough to cause drunkeness in most monsters, while it may cause some weaker monsters to completely pass out. For two, it still retains its toxic qualities when ingested by Humans. While in the previous era, the Grog would usually result in Humans coughing up blood if they drank, or were forced to drink it, this in todayʼs era, thankfully does not occur. Instead it is one of the only alcoholic beverage that can, on its own cause, Monsterization in Humans.
Not only is the drink heavily concentrated in alcohol, but also in Demonic Energy, enough so that drinking a mug of it can cause Human Women to turn into Monsters. I is said the Demonic Energy in the drink is the equivalent of the latent energy that lies in the heart of the Demon Realm. In the case of races such as Elves, or Angels, who’s purity can be corrupted by Demonic Energy, they likewise become the corrupted version of their species. It should be noted however that this isn’t a one hundred percent chance of monsterization occurring. Most Humans, or uncorrupted species would be unable to withstand that much Demonic Energy, but those with enough strength and power, like a Hero for instance, could withstand drinking a single mug.
However, upon becoming a monster, the drinker still enters a state of intoxication, and so upon downing a mug of Grog, the Human not only enters a state of frenzied state of lust as they become accustomed to their new Monstrous bodies, they also have to contend with what little rationality they have left being dulled by alcohol of the drink. As such their minds very easily turn to sex, and with single-minded determination will try to tempt whatever man they have in their life, until the drink has finished working its way through their system.
In Human men however, that much Demonic Energy being ingested causes their spirit energy to go into overdrive. This in turn causes increased attraction in any women or monsters that are around them, if they have partners, then their partners will find themselves irreversibly attracted to them. If they are single then Monsters from around them will be drawn to them man instead. The man would also be completely drunk at this point, and be unable to defend themselves from any advances.
The drink is a popular cheap drink in many Demon Realms, and is a favorite of the soldiers in the Monstrous Horde of the Demon Lord.
Another peculiarity exists in that women who Drink it will become a different Monster based on anything added in the drink. For instance, if there is Holstaur Milk in the drink, then the drinker would become a Holstaur, Alraune Nectar, then an Alraune, etc. It is even said that should the hair of a Werewolf be added, then a woman would then become a Werewolf!
While Grog can be used to turn women into Monsters, it is more often used on men as a means of seduction. For most Monsters who wish to turn women into Monsters, including the Radical Faction, they prefer using other methods instead, particularly sex.
Oni Sake
Brewed by the Oni Villages of Zipangu, as part of the ongoing cultural exchange with that region it is also made in some parts of the Royal Demon Realm.
It is valued for its ability to act as ‘liquid courage’. Those who drink the Sake tend to become more lively and rowdy. Even those who normally act as introverts will become very social, and join in the festivities.
For instance, if a young shy man is hiding his feelings for a woman he likes, after drinking enough sake he will decide to confess his true feelings to the woman, and might even act on them.
It also makes one lose all sense of proprietary. One forgets all rank and procedure. In another example, say a commandant had feelings for a subordinate, they might repress these feelings to maintain the chain of command. But should they become drunk on Oni Sake, they might strip right there and make advances on the target of their affection in full view of the entire company.
Lastly, it is said that the more repressed and withdrawn someone is, the lower their tolerance to the alcohol is. But some think that this is because the effects are less pronounced in those who don’t repress or withdraw their feelings, because their behavior when drunk is the same as when they are sober. This can be observed in the different behaviors between Red and Blue Oni.
Oddly despite all these effects, it is very popular in celebrations in the very reserved and conservative nation of Zipangu.
Arctic Vodka
Brewed in the far north, it is a popular drink among both monsters and humans, even among the nations dominated by the Order.
When it is consumed, it fills the body with warmth from the inside. This makes it popular throughout the region. It is not just very useful in the cold climate, it can be lifesaving for some. As such, some more altruistic monsters keep some on them at all times. Many Yeti’s for instance carry a small cask of the drink around their necks.
It is also especially popular amongst couples in the region. Monsters couples, and many other Human Couples, often use each other to warm up in the cold climate. If they drink any arctic vodka, that warmth is intensified, making it much easier to hold each other close. It also helps make it much more comfortable to have sex in the colder conditions, and in some cases it can be downright necessary.
Vampire Alto
A type of wine made from the vineyards of the Vampire Nobles, and enjoyed by upper- class monsters. It has a peculiar taste of blood to it. However, that it just how it is designed to taste, vampires would never wish to drink any blood other than their husbands, and would never waste any of their blood on something that is to be drank by others.
Its effects are rather negligible amongst humans and most monsters, but its effects are more pronounced in Monsters in the Vampire, Ghoul and Undead families, who used to consume blood unrepentantly. Vampires in particular favor it as a means to sate their bloodlust without having to bother their husbands. However because what they are ingesting is not Spirit Energy, but instead Demonic Energy, they end up craving Spirit Energy even more. Those who are without husbands can typically endure its effects, but those monsters who are married are the most susceptible to them, most likely because they have become used to the great quantities of Spirit Energy their husband can create.
Because of this, many Monsters lose their tolerance to the Alto upon obtaining a Husband. And so when they start drinking Vampire Alto, their desire for their Husbands Spirit Energy swells, until they canʼt bear it anymore. The result is that a Monster wife will stumble onto their Husband in a drunken state being able to think of perverted thoughts, yet they’d be so intoxicated as to be defenseless against their husbands, forcing them to take the lead.
Sacramental Wine
Unholy Wine used in the heretical rights of the Fallen Faith, brewed from the Corruption Fruit, which the Faith holds to be sacred.
Its properties are unique in that most other alcoholic drinks of the Monster World only effect their drinkers immediately upon inebriation. But the Sacramental Wine of the Fallen Faith instead will affect its drinkers even if only a small amount is taken, and it will only begin to take affect a period of time after it has been taken, usually somewhere around fifteen minutes.
It is administered to followers during services, much like how ordinary wine is used by the Order. After enough time has passed, it begins to affect all those who drank it. Firstly perverted thoughts begin to creep into the mind, gradually becoming more and more intense, until images of men and women venting their lust at each other in lewd fashion begins flashing before their eyes. As this happens their skin starts becoming more sensitive, becoming hotter and hotter until they are consumed by a desire to tear off their clothes, and vent their lust then and there.
At this point services would end, and the congregation would rush to somewhere secluded to vent their lusts with their husbands. Amongst those who attend services and take the wine, many try to resist the effects for as long as they can, because in doing so they become more intense until the imbiber can stand them no longer, it gives a thrill to the faithful, almost as if they are falling once again, becoming mindless creatures who can only think of pleasure.
Additionally there are those among the Fallen Faith, and the Radical Faction who smuggle this Sacramental Wine into Human Lands, and replace it with the ceremonial wine used in the Orders services. When this occurs, the effects play out in much the same fashion, but with many key differences. For one, Sacramental Wine of the Fallen Faith is typically only administered to those converts who have already obtained a Husband they have fallen with. Meanwhile the Order gives Ceremonial Wine to the various priests and nuns who help run and maintain the church in the absence of other service goers.
When unknowingly given the Sacramental Wine, the service would continue as normal until the effects start taking place. While they delay between the ingestion and the effects of the Wine are the same, in Humans it is noted that its effects become much much more intense. The perverted thoughts begin appearing in the mind, but they begin much more innocently, innocuously, so that the imbiber does not notice anything out of the ordinary. But as the service continues, they begin having difficulty paying attention the sermon as the lewd thoughts intensify and intensify. While the pious may try to endure such thoughts, and repress them, that just makes them come back with that much more intensity. Soon enough their skin begins to flush, heat, and become more sensitive, and they begin squirming in their seat, trying to remain in control of themselves.
At this point a third effect takes place. They mind of the drinker becomes consumed with falling into a lustful depraved pleasure filled lifestyle, they become eager to forsake their values and fall. In this way they lose all shame and strip themselves of the clothing hiding their chest and hips and begin pleasuring themselves right then and there. Ironically the Monsters of the Fallen Faith manage to maintain much better control of themselves in this state, keeping their modesty until their husbands can soil it for them.
Even worse however are those who already held lustful lewd thoughts in their heart to begin with. For these they become obsessed not just with falling, but with causing others to fall. They seduce anyone not yet consumed by lust, and dominate those squirming in pleasure around them. Eventually though, after everyone has expelled their lust, and the wine has worked its way through their system, if the wine was only used on its own they do not become Monsters, the clergy regain their senses, and desperately try to preserve some of their lost modesty. The church quickly tries to sweep the incident under the rug, and pretend it never happened.
However for some the event awakens their inner lust. They search for lewd texts forbidden by the Order, they continue secret lustful trysts with each-other, or they run off to become a Monster so they can live days full of pleasure.
Amongst those others who might be in attendance other than Humans, for some Churches recruit Demi-Humans and rarely some Monsters into their ranks, their situations can vary. It is said Dwarves, because of their hardy nature, remain unchanged from events, but Elves, because of their prudish and proud nature will fall from the bottom of their hearts from the event. Any Monsters who drink the Sacramental Wine, even if they were raised to live a chaste and pious existence would become a true Monster in their hearts, unable to live a life without pleasure after having tasted its devilish nature. It is said that not even Angels are immune from the effects of the Fallen Faiths unholy Wine. Even after it has worked its way through their system, even if they act and think in the ways according to the Order, their Fall from grace has already and irreversibly begun.
Hard Sabbath Lemonade
Fruit Juice made and produced by the Sabbath organization. Its use as a hard drink is restricted to monsters with young immature bodies, like most of those within the Sabbathʼs rank. The reason for this is because it only effects monsters with very small and youthful bodies. Full-grown monsters can’t experience its effects, alcoholic or otherwise. As such it is the preferred drink of monsters with immature bodies.
Amongst humans, its effects are only on those with specific circumstances. Like with monsters, it affects girls with underdeveloped young bodies, but it also affects those with complexes regarding those who are older to them, or take a fatherly, or brotherly role in their lives, regardless of their development.
When it is consumed, it makes the minds of young girls and monsters grow hazy and fuzzy, most thoughts are pushed out of their heads, except for those they consider to be their husband, often their ʻonii-chanʼ. They seek him out to sleepily hold onto him. If they are single, then they will instead cling to anyone else they look up to, an ‘onee-chan’ or other friend they might have.
Despite being called Lemonade, it comes in many flavors, both those that are from the Human Realm, like Apples, and Limes, and those of the Demon Realm, like Prisoner and Intoxication fruit.
Intoxication Vintage
An extremely rare, and exorbitantly expensive brew it is widely sought after by Monsters and even by Humans.
It is brewed by using only the finest parts of the Intoxication Fruit, and fermented for centuries. As such its concentration of Demonic Energy is immense, enough to cause instant Monsterization upon intoxication into only the most powerful Monsters in existence.
Only the oldest and wealthiest vineyards in the Royal Demon Realm make this drink, and every bottle goes for the wealth of entire nations, sold to the most powerful Monster elite seeking to use the drink to greatly enhance their monstrous power, bidding war for these Drinks are said to be even more intense than auctions selling off Husbands.
This is one reason for it to be sought after even by Humans, its sheer worth to Monsters makes it as valuable as many great forgotten treasures. Indeed, many consider the Vintage to be a treasure itself, it even lies forgotten at the bottom of many dungeons strewn across the land. The other reason is that as an artifact of such great Demonic Power, the Order seeks these bottles so as to keep them out of the hands of Monsters, and so will pay a small fortune for the Vintage as well.
Amongst Monsters, it is said to have the power to cause Monsters to become a species that is vastly more powerful than what they began with, for instance should a Lamia drink a glass of the Vintage, she may transform into a luscious Echidna. Amongst humans, even the lowliest Peasant girl, should she have a glass of the substance, could become a mighty, fierce, and lustful Dragon. Should a man have a glass, he would become an Incubus so powerful that his Spirit Energy would attract a harem of the strongest Monsters in existence.
Because of this, the Radical Faction keeps many bottles themselves that they use as part of their ongoing mission to corrupt the entire world into a Monster loving Paradise.
Alraune Mead
Distilled from the nectar of Alrauneʼs, and the sap of other Plant Monsters. It has a very sweet taste to it, and it goes down smoothly when one is drinking it. Due to the use of Alraune Nectar, when consumed, ones mind is also consumed with the sticky, syrupy nature of the nectar. It means that one can only think sweet sugary thoughts when one is intoxicated. Even if one were in a terrible mood before drinking, once enough mead is in their system, the drinker will be wearing a blissful happy smile.
When consumed by couples, the drinkers thoughts turn to their partners, even if they had experienced a massive fight the night before they can only think warm happy thoughts about their partner, and wish to show them affection.
While a bit more subdued this affectionate behavior is also displayed to any friends or acquaintances nearby. Often this affection is shown physically, with the drinkers clinging to their friends and family, and giving them loving hugs. In the case of romantic partners, this behavior tends to progress past stripping in order to give skin-to-skin contact with their partner.
Even if consumed by two fierce unrelenting romantic rivals, of whom Monsters are known to be particularly wary of, should they become drunk on mead, they will forgive all past transgressions with each-other, and swear on their unending friendship.
Wonderland Absinthe
A very peculiar drink, as with most things in Wonderland, that is usually taken in small amounts. For some reason it has also made its way into the Fairy Kingdom, though it isn’t usually consumed by Fairies how have an extremely tiny resistance to Alcohol to begin with.
Its effects are deceptive. For instance, when taken, one may not notice the traditional effects of Alcohol, but it soon enough hits the drinker with a few minutes with a force that takes many aback. Secondly it does not seem to dull the mind in the traditional sense. To the drinker, they seem to keep a clear sober mind upon taking the absinthe.
However at this point its true purpose begins to take hold. Whatever the personality of the imbiber, whether they were kind, cruel, passionate, apathetic, lustful or chaste, it is seemingly reversed. A cloistered nun would begin acting like a voracious prostitute, a dimwitted farmer would become an insightful thinker, or a zealous footsoldier would become an amicable pacifist.
This is one reason that Wonderland seems so mad to visitors, as the way people act towards them can fluctuate between night and day, and to those who aren’t intimately aware of the persons personality, and are ignorant of Absinthe and its effects would be at a loss for who was who, and what was what. One example of how confusing things could be could be that a haughty royal you met in a castle may end up being a lowly and humble maid who had ingested some absinthe, while they court jester had been the true leader, and is in fact a humorless bore.
It is popular in Wonderland for ability to liven things up and change the norm. The Red Queen is particularly fond of it, it is said that she often invites members of different races who are said to epitomize their kinds disposition, and give them Absinthe to observe how they act under its effects, sometimes turning this backwards acting species into a unique Monster of Wonderland. It is also said that the only reason anything ever gets done is if the Red Queen ingests Absinthe herself, and starts acting like a proper ruler.
Additionally, even though ones personality is made into its opposite, the drinker retains their memories, and any moral code they might have. For instance, should a truly kind and charitable soul take absinthe, and become a selfish and cruel person, they won’t start actively attacking, beating, or killing anyone around them, nor would they even try to hurt any of the feelings of anyone they felt were important to them. Ones inner nature is maintained during inebriation, so one does not have to worry about doing anything under the influence they would truly come to regret. The reverse is also true however, if someone was completely cruel and vile, not even under the effects of Absinthe would they repent, or do anything to amend the situation, and may just as easily continue to do many vile and horrible things.
The drink is also sometimes mixed with the various ingredients and concoctions that cause ones body to grow or shrink, along with various other aphrodisiacs, or other things that can change the Absinthes effects based on a variety of conditions. A common party game in Wonderland is to prepare a bunch of different forms of Absinthe, and distribute them at random to party guests, and enjoy the resulting changes and chaos.
For some reason there have also been rumors that Wonderland Absinthe may have some tie to the Chaos Demons, but his as of yet hasn’t been explored.
Prisoner Cider
A very common drink in the various Bright Green Demon Realms, though it is rather popular among traditional Dark Demon Realms as well. It is distilled from the Prisoner Fruit, but unlike the fruit on its own, it doesn’t cause Monsterization, perhaps because it is has been fermented, and lost some of its potency. Amongst farm workers, male and female in the Bright Green Demon Realms, and in Monster Friendly States, it is a favored treat after a long days work.
The sweet pink fluid has often been referred to as a ‘Truth Serum’ because of its unique qualities. Firstly when one starts drinking the Cider, regardless of ones intent, the drinker will keep drinking until they become completely inebriated. This greatly helps the sale of the Cider. The second effect only exhibits itself in women or monsters who are married, or otherwise have a man they are interested in. Much like Vampire Alto, this means many women end up overestimating their own tolerance to the drink.
The inebriation causes a large hole to open in the heart of the drinker. They become consumed with self-doubt, and become unable to see any good qualities in themselves, only being able to see only their faults. They begin beating themselves up over the smallest, most trivial of things. The effect is worsened according to how many self-doubts they had before drinking. For instance, a woman confidant in her looks may start to doubt their looks and think of themselves as plain, but a woman who had doubts about her looks to begin with would become convinced that she is in fact ugly.
They especially become particularly distraught should they have any doubts about their relationship. If for instance she and her Husband had any recent arguments, then she’d become convinced they were all her fault, whether that was the case or no, but should she have felt guilty to begin with then it would be especially bad.
In this way many monsters, and humans too, who put up a front to hide their feelings about their Husband have their front crumble, those who take a dominant or sadistic role in the relationship feel they’ve been a bully, and begin to repent.
Once they hit the bottom of this downward spiral, they become desperate for validation, specifically the validation of their husbands. They go to him in an emotional frenzy, crawling, desperate, with tears in their eyes, in a pitiful and pathetic display. They confess every single thought and doubt they’d had up until that point, debasing themselves, and they begin to beg and plead for their husband to comfort them, having become convinced by that point that they are unworthy of their Husbands love because of how horrible and useless they, and are that their husband will leave them at any moment unless they can convince their husbands otherwise.
This is the reason it is often referred to as a Truth Serum. Of course since the only person they are confessing to is their Husband, and because the sole focus of the confessions are regarding their relationship, it can’t really be used as a Truth Serum in the way many would wish. Lastly, because of the fundamental instinct in Monsters latent in all Demonic Energy, whether they are Monster or Human, in their drunken state, the woman’s only conclusion of how to keep their husbands from leaving them, and reaffirming their relationship is to debase themselves as his sexual plaything, trying to use every part of their body to please him.
At this point, virtually no Husband can stand to see their beloved wife in such a wretched useless state, and would make sure to pamper and please them, dissuading her fears, and pleasuring her until her face becomes consumed by a happy lewd smile. In this way the hole that had consumed their heart would be filled by their Husbands love, and they’d go to sleep happy and content.
However, it is said that should a Husband actually agree that his bride has been acting horribly up until that point, then in despair the wife would vow to spend the rest of their life making amends serving their husband in an unending attempt to repent and please him. This is a fundamental shift in their lives that lasts far beyond their initial drunkenness, and continues until they can truly feel in their heart that they’ve acted as a good wife should.
No Monster has seemed immune to this effect. Not even the famously haughty, and prideful Dragons, who see themselves as lords of all living things. Should she get enough Cider in her system however, she’d come groveling, sobbing before her Husband, who she would previously thought of only as ‘Slave’, ‘Property’, or ‘Prey’, begging to use her body to prove her worth to him.
There is even one story of a Lilim who became inebriated with Cider, and turned an entire Convent into lustful powerful monsters to gift to her Husband as a Harem in an attempt to keep him satisfied with her.
Also, perhaps because of all this, many brewers have made a lighter version of the Cider, that lacks the compulsion to keep drinking until one becomes Drunk, preventing some of these displays. This version has become much more popular for this reason, as it can be enjoyed at a much more reasonable rate.
Unfortunately many people are unaware that this has not been completely fixed; should someone have more than one glass at a time, then its compulsion to keep drinking to inebriation comes back, and it becomes as if they had the straight version of the Cider to begin with.
